Chapter 968 Her Body Felt Like It Was Being Torn Apart
"Tori?"
"What's up?"
"Are you laughing because of what I said?"
Alexander gently asked Victoria in a low voice.
Victoria was startled, then buried her face in her hands and whispered, "It's just you here."
Hearing that, Alexander's eyes grew even deeper.
Victoria thought that, in a room full of people, there was no one else. She was only talking to him. If he didn't make her laugh, who did?
Later that night, Eve brought Strawberry to Victoria's bed. The three of them chatted for a while before saying goodnight.
Alexander didn't want Victoria to hang up the phone, but he didn't want to make her uncomfortable, so he didn't insist.
He thought he needed to learn not to force her anymore.
In the early morning in Ankenra City, it was still early for Victoria.
Victoria and Eve would sometimes play a few games of chess when they were bored.
Frank and two maids were accompanying them.
Eve had just placed a piece on the chessboard when she suddenly felt a wave of nausea in her stomach. She immediately covered her mouth, raised her hand to signal a pause, and ran towards the bathroom.
Victoria and the maids looked on curiously, but Frank's heart skipped a beat. A few seconds later, he got up and followed her.
Victoria held a chess piece thoughtfully, then heard Desiree say, "Is Eve pregnant?"
Victoria turned to look at Desiree. It seemed so.
Strawberry was going to have a companion. Although the child wasn't hers, she felt that Strawberry would definitely get along well with Eve's child, just like family.
Victoria couldn't wait to witness the arrival of Eve's child.
She suddenly couldn't help but want to share the good news with Alexander, but then she thought he was probably already asleep, so she suppressed the urge.
Everything could wait until tomorrow.
He would definitely be happy too.
He and Frank seemed like employer and employee, but they had a deep bond.
Frank and Eve were both good-looking, so their child would definitely be good-looking too.
Victoria's mood improved, and she inadvertently saw the ring on her ring finger, which immediately warmed her heart.
Would she and Alexander ever go back to being so fearless?
Would she still be afraid?
If last time Alexander took a knife for Isabella just for her, she really couldn't let him take a knife for someone else again.
For any reason, she couldn't accept it.
Eve and Frank came out, and Eve looked a bit embarrassed. "Sorry, I felt a bit unwell."
"I'm going out for a bit," Juliette suddenly said.
Eve and Frank were puzzled, but Victoria and Barbara had already guessed what was going on. Victoria reached out and pulled Eve, "Come sit down. From now on, all the dirty and tiring work in our house will be Frank's responsibility."
Frank looked at Eve curiously and smiled in agreement.
He didn't think much of it, just worried that Eve had hurt her stomach from eating a big piece of ice cream the day before.
Eve said, "I'm fine, I can do everything."
"I'm just afraid Frank won't let you," Victoria leaned on Eve and joked.
"Actually..."
"By the way, Eve, drink more water first," Barbara said warmly, pouring water for Eve.
Eve gratefully thanked her, "Thank you."
"No need to thank me, just drink more," Barbara said kindly.
Everyone seemed to be expecting Eve to announce her pregnancy.
Eve was a bit confused, and Victoria and Barbara's expressions were a bit strange. Half an hour later, Juliette came back with a box. "Go try this."
"What?"
Soon, Eve understood why Barbara wanted her to drink more water.
Frank was also stunned. Before Victoria and Alexander reconciled and returned to Ankenra City, they hadn't planned on having a child. But that night, he hadn't been careful.
Eve went to the bathroom, and Juliette whispered to Frank, "Frank, you're going to be a dad."
Frank smiled awkwardly but politely, not saying much.
He suddenly felt a bit nervous and anxious.
Was he really going to be a dad?
Thinking of Strawberry and Alexander, Frank suddenly felt a bit excited.
He would have a cute daughter, and then...
Eve came out of the bathroom, holding onto the door, too excited to speak, just staring at Frank foolishly.
Frank immediately stood up from the sofa and ran to her side. "This is a good thing."
With just a few words, Eve's tears started to fall.
Worried that having a child would be a burden, they were bodyguards and had to take care of their employers first. If she got pregnant, she might not be able to do some things well, so they had agreed not to have a child for now.
Knowing she was pregnant, she was really excited, of course happy, but also anxious.
Until Frank said it was a good thing, her heart finally settled, and she, who never cried, finally shed tears.
"Yes, it's a good thing."
"Congratulations, Eve."
"Congratulations."
The three women gathered around, and Victoria gently hugged Eve's shoulder, "From tomorrow on, our meals will change. You have to give Strawberry a healthy and cute playmate."
Eve immediately smiled after hearing that.
Then everyone left, giving space to Eve and Frank.
Frank hugged Eve on the sofa, "This is all fate's arrangement. I will take good care of you."
"I was afraid you wouldn't be happy, Frank. You're so good," Eve said, hugging Frank's shoulder, feeling very happy.
Victoria and the others watched from upstairs, unable to help but breathe a sigh of relief and smile, then they left.
Later that night, Victoria couldn't help but send a message to Alexander.
Alexander saw the message early the next morning and wanted to reply to Victoria immediately, but then thought she might be sleeping, so he got up to wash up.
At nine o'clock, Alexander appeared at the office building on time and first instructed Graham, "Frank's wife is pregnant. Send Frank a bonus to congratulate him."
Graham didn't quite understand, but Alexander didn't stop.
Graham, as an experienced secretary, would figure it out and execute the order.
Then Frank's account suddenly had an extra $14,000.
And Victoria, a few days after Eve's pregnancy, thought of something.
Everyone wanted to return to the city, and now Eve was pregnant.
Maybe she had to go back?
Although Victoria was anxious, everyone here missed their home.
The Harrington Mansion had said they could return, and others could come abroad, but they all refused to go back.
Victoria thought that, after being together for so long, they had developed feelings for each other. So, how could she let everyone keep sacrificing for her?
She finally decided, next time, when Alexander came, they would go back together.
And recently, she had been having nightmares. Maybe going back would help.
Victoria knew Alexander would definitely come on the weekend. She was originally happy, until that morning, she woke up from a bloody dream.
Her body felt like it was being torn apart.
