Chapter 11 Being Tricked
The breaths of the two intertwined. Victoria was trying her best to control her own breath as she looked at the man in front of her.
Alexander was looking straight at her, his deep voice commanding, "Say it again."
"I said I want to move out."
She realized it didn't matter where Isabella lived, what mattered was where she wanted to live.
Since they were divorced, she could live wherever she pleased.
Especially after he got another woman pregnant during their marriage.
Alexander, however, laughed at what he heard. His hand, which had been in his pocket, suddenly came out and pinched her chin, forcing her to raise her head, "Say it again."
He was domineering and unrestrained, as if he could do anything.
She could feel her heart; it seemed to be beating for him.
But...
But he had extinguished her love for him completely last night.
Victoria looked into his ink-black eyes and choked up.
She said, "I want to move out; I want to quit."
Yes, she wanted to leave him.
This man who almost drove her crazy.
Since he didn't love her and had no intention of starting this marriage, why should she keep herself trapped in the cage he drew?
"No."
He firmly denied her.
"Why not?"
She dared to ask again.
On what grounds was he denying her?
The feel of Alexander pinching her chin was a bit special. He looked at it, quickly let go, and his hand went back into his pocket. Now, only one hand was propped up next to her, his low and bewitching voice rang again, "Because no one at home knows we're divorced yet."
"So, when will they know?"
She asked again.
Since the decision had been made, why not give her a deadline?
She knew he was worried about the elders' disapproval, but there had to be a deadline.
"What's the rush? The one who should be anxious is me."
He looked very assertive, but his hand in his pocket was clenched tightly.
"Since that's the case, then I'll go and tell the elders that I want a divorce; I don't want to..."
She didn't know why, but suddenly she couldn't go on.
She looked into his eyes and realized that she probably shouldn't say that she didn't want to make him uncomfortable by being his wife anymore but saying that wouldn't convince the elders, it might make him more embarrassed.
For the past two years, the Harrington family had been pampering her like a treasure; she understood why.
In fact, the Harrington family didn't originally plan to have her as a daughter-in-law; she originally had a marriage contract with another family, but that family gave up on her because her parents suddenly died, as for the reason...
There was a time when rumors were circulating that she was an ill-omened girl. Her parents were with her in the same car, but her parents died, and she was unharmed.
They said, she was a witch... that she killed her parents.
She never thought that, in this day and age, there would still be such superstition.
Old Lady Harrington made a decision the moment she was rejected. She decided to have her own grandson marry her.
And then later, he agreed to get married out of respect for his grandmother's wishes, but immediately left home after the marriage for two full years, never stepping foot in A City at all.
He finally came back after getting the woman he liked pregnant. He finally had a reason to kick her away.
He should indeed be anxious, so she asked him again, "So, what should I tell the elders, as long as you say it, I will do it."
Alexander's eyes half-closed, she said she would do as he said?
He was annoyed again, and asked her back, "You'll do as I say?"
"Yes."
She responded firmly.
"Even if it means saying you had an affair during the marriage?"
Alexander laughed at what he heard and continued to ask.
