Chapter 361 The Terrifying Late Night
Victoria was escorted home by Ava, who spotted someone waiting downstairs and remarked, "Looks like someone is waiting for you."
Victoria, puzzled, turned to look outside and felt a pang in her heart when she saw the figure.
It was Isabella's father. What was he here for?
Approaching him, Victoria asked, " Mr. Montgomery, were you waiting for me?"
Rohans, upon seeing her, immediately smiled. "Yes."
"Let's talk about it here," Victoria suggested.
"Don't you want me to come upstairs for a chat?"
Rohans smiled warmly.
Victoria gazed at him. "I don't think it's necessary."
The Montgomery family was likely approaching her to persuade her to divorce Alexander.
She also wanted a divorce, but Alexander was reluctant.
They had the wrong impression, but seemed unaware of it.
"Miss Kensington, I have always admired you. If it weren't necessary, I wouldn't disturb you. Isabella has leukemia, in the advanced stages."
He spoke painfully.
Victoria was at a loss for words.
‘Isabella has leukemia?’ Victoria thought, shocked.
Isabella had mentioned having cancer, but no one had told her the specifics.
Even Alexander had casually mentioned some recent health issues without elaborating.
Leukemia was a form of cancer, right?
Victoria didn't fully understand, but fell silent at that moment.
"I understand. Probably Alexander doesn't want to divorce. You are so beautiful and gentle, which man would be willing to let go?" Rohans said suggestively.
"Hmm." Victoria looked at him with confusion.
Rohans continued, "What if I said I'm willing to help you find a way to make Alexander agree to the divorce?"
"What do you mean?"
Victoria looked at him in confusion.
"For example, we could find a way to make him feel he must divorce."
"Hmm." Victoria's brow furrowed gradually.
"You are a kind-hearted girl. I believe you would also want to fulfill Isabella's last wish before she leaves, right?" Rohan said.
"Sorry, I'm not as kind-hearted as you think. Your family matters shouldn't involve a stranger like me," Victoria said and went upstairs.
Rohans watched her walk away, his brow furrowed in annoyance.
‘This child is still so naive.’
After returning home, Victoria felt puzzled. What did the Montgomery family take her for?
Isabella tried to frame her, but she was no saint. Even if Isabella was in trouble, it was her own doing.
'Yes, evil begets evil.' Thinking this, Victoria took off her shoes, hung up her bag, and headed inside.
Despite her own miserable life, everything was a mess.
Sitting on the sofa, she slouched, staring hopelessly at the coffee table.
Suddenly, a loud rumble outside as the rain poured down.
It was already October, yet the rain persisted.
Victoria remained motionless until late into the night. She made instant noodles for herself, but the smell overwhelmed her, leading her to rush to the bathroom to vomit.
Luckily, she hadn't eaten much that day.
‘But I'm not pregnant! Why am I vomiting? Could it be the fever medication affecting my stomach? But this has never happened before.’
Her stomach churned again, and she continued to vomit.
The rain outside intensified. After freshening up and returning to bed, she sat by the window, silently breathing.
As dawn broke, thunder roared, making it impossible to sleep.
Victoria shifted slightly in bed. Suddenly, she felt her arm resting on a hot and solid surface, startling her in an instant.
