Chapter 103 Did You Looking for a Fight

"All right, I'll trouble you with that," Harold said politely, looking at Oscar. His expression softened a bit, and he felt relieved inside.

Pearl had originally planned to have dinner with her parents. That dinner was now out of the question. She saw Kittie preparing her bed and walked over, saying, "Mom, I need to go out for a while, so I can't accompany you and Dad for dinner."

Kittie looked up. "Is there something going on?"

"It's work-related."

Kittie walked over to Pearl. "Pearl, if you want to change jobs, we can. There are plenty of good jobs out there." Kittie was also considering Pearl's situation. They were about to get a divorce, yet she was still by Oscar's side, which was quite awkward.

"Understood, Mom." Pearl also considered this. After the divorce, she couldn't possibly stay by Oscar's side either. Leaving in a timely manner would be the best choice for both parties. She left home and returned to Brown Manor.

Upon her return, the servants still addressed her respectfully as "Pearl." Everything seemed as if nothing had happened. Pearl took off her shoes and asked the servant, "Can't find the sweater?"

The servant, unaware of what had happened, looked a bit puzzled. "What sweater?"

Pearl looked up. "Didn't Oscar ask you to find a sweater?"

The servant replied, "Oscar hasn't called back."

Now, it was Pearl's turn to fall silent. If Oscar hadn't even called back after insisting she come home, was he deliberately picking a fight?

"Ms. Pearl." Upon hearing the call, Pearl looked over without hesitation, only to see Seraphina sitting confidently at the dining table. The servant was preparing a nutritious supplement for Seraphina. Pearl looked at her. Seraphina was no longer the timid girl she had first met in the corner. Now, dressed in designer clothes and with a healthy complexion, she seemed more like the mistress of the house. Seraphina had already settled in the house.

Was it Mrs. Brown's approval, or had Oscar also agreed?

Setting down the nutritional potion in her hand, Seraphina spoke when Pearl remained silent, "Calling you Ms. Pearl feels too formal; I'll just call you Pearl; it sounds better."

Pearl looked at Seraphina and asked indifferently, "What do you want to say?"

Seraphina smiled at Pearl. "Nothing, I have nothing to say to you. I just want to let you know that I don't need to live in that lonely villa anymore. I can stay here directly, and this place will be my home from now on."

As she spoke, Seraphina seemed a bit boastful. Perhaps she could become the mistress of this house in the future. After all, considering Pearl and Oscar's impending divorce, Seraphina needed to make Pearl understand that she would take care of Oscar in her place. Thinking about Harold's presence and Mrs. Brown's fondness for Harold, how could she let someone else intrude? In the end, Seraphina might end up being a sacrificial pawn.

Pearl casually said, "Then good luck."

Pearl headed upstairs. Seraphina followed. Pearl turned back to look at her in confusion, and Seraphina casually said, "Since you're back home, I need to keep an eye on things. If something goes missing when Auntie returns, she'll blame me."

Pearl replied, "I'm getting a sweater for Oscar."

Seraphina's face lit up, and she immediately said, "You should have told me earlier. There's no need to bother Pearl for such things. I can also go and deliver it to Oscar." Seeing Seraphina bypass her and walk enthusiastically into the room, Pearl watched as she gazed at the master bed. Seraphina had already begun to imagine what it would be like to lie on that bed with Oscar.

"Pearl, this is yours and Oscar's room. It's spacious and cozy, much better than the villa over there," Seraphina said, almost reaching out to touch the bed. Even though her marriage with Oscar was falling apart, Pearl knew that this bed was where she slept. She didn't like others touching it. As Seraphina reached out, Pearl grabbed her hand.

"Do you know which one?"

Seraphina paused, finding it simple, "It's just a sweater. I can also deliver it." What Pearl could do, she could do as well.

Pearl said expressionlessly, "If you want to sit in this position, it depends on whether you're qualified." She looked at the large bed. "Oscar's likes and dislikes are clear. Even with a sweater, he would differentiate between wearing white or black today. If he doesn't like it... it would be terrible."

"Don't scare me!" Seraphina didn't believe her. Last time, Pearl had also warned her, trying to make her back off. "It's cold, and Oscar wants to wear warm clothes. As long as it keeps him warm, why would there be so many requirements?"

Seraphina opened the wardrobe directly. The clothes inside were neatly arranged. Everything was clear at a glance. Seraphina quickly picked a thick sweater and a coat. "I'll go and deliver them to him." Seraphina wanted to show off a bit. Although Mrs. Brown didn't want her to take care of Oscar and wanted her to focus on her pregnancy, she wanted to be with Oscar more. Only through companionship could feelings be nurtured.

She heard that Pearl had been a secretary by Oscar's side for seven years before they got married. Wasn't it because she had been by his side for so long that they got married? Seraphina could do the same. She was young, beautiful, and energetic. She had more capital to wait than Pearl. Moreover, if someone from an ordinary family like Pearl could marry Oscar, why couldn't Seraphina?

As Pearl watched Seraphina walk away, there was a moment when she thought, let her go, she wouldn't go. But when she thought of Oscar's personality, his pickiness...

Pearl opened the closet, where a row of winter clothes hung. She took the white checkered sweater and put it in a bag. She checked the weather on her phone and saw that it was rapidly cooling down. She took two thick clothes. Worried that he might have an urgent work matter, she also picked a suit.

Seraphina went first. Pearl drove herself and followed closely behind. When Pearl arrived at the hospital room's door, before she could enter, she heard Oscar's stern voice. "Who let you in? Take this trash and get out!"

Then came the sound of things being smashed. Seraphina was startled. She had never seen Oscar lose his temper like this before. Oscar was like an angry lion, not listening to any explanations and disregarding the fact that she was carrying his child.

With red eyes, Seraphina, fearing his anger, hurriedly ran out. Soon after, the clothes she brought were thrown out like trash. Her face was pale, and she was still in shock. She saw Pearl standing behind her.

"You..." Seraphina blamed Pearl, questioning, "Oscar didn't want the sweater at all. Are you deliberately trying to make him dislike me?"

Pearl didn't want to engage with her. Unwilling to accept it, Seraphina persisted, "Pearl, you only married him because you were by his side for so long! I'm young and beautiful, and one day Oscar will like me too!"

Initially ignoring her, Pearl stopped in her tracks, turned around, and saw Seraphina's smug expression. Pearl slapped Seraphina directly across the face.

Seraphina was taken aback by the sudden strike, holding her red face. In a cold tone, Pearl said, "I am still Oscar's wife. Are you looking for a fight by shamelessly speaking such words in front of me?"
