Chapter 436 Taken Back to the Enemy Camp

Carol's face twisted. "What are you rambling about?"

She glanced at her crew, then snapped, "Someone shut her up!"

Then she had a nastier idea. "No, cut out her tongue. I want her silent forever."

Carol's ranting gave Pearl a clue.

The guiltier Carol felt, the more she'd try to cover it up.

If Louis hadn't tipped her off, Pearl wouldn't have tested her like this.

Pearl smirked.

Carol sneered. "Scared? Beg now, and I might spare you!"

Pearl shot back, "You didn't answer me, and now you want me quiet. Feeling guilty? Killing me won't make a lie true!"

"Shut up!" Carol wanted to see Pearl beg.

'Everyone fears me. Why doesn't Pearl?'

This challenged Carol's authority.

"If you want me quiet, kill me," Pearl taunted.

Carol's face contorted with rage. "You think I won't?"

She grabbed a knife and pressed it to Pearl's face. "Not afraid of death? I'll ruin your face first! No one will like you, and then I'll cripple you."

Carol felt a sick thrill.

Pearl stayed still, the cold knife on her cheek. "You want to ruin my face so bad. Had a rough past? Is your face fake? I see signs of plastic surgery."

Carol panicked, covering her face, thinking she'd been exposed.

Pearl's words rattled her.

"I'll kill you, bitch!" Carol snarled.

Pearl took a deep breath and closed her eyes.

But a car approaching interrupted them.

Carol hadn't cut Pearl yet when someone got out of the car.

"Ms. Mitchell!"

Carol looked over, knife in hand. "Mr. Rossi."

Matteo Rossi, in a black robe with white hair, looked about seventy but still strong. He walked over, saw Carol with Pearl, and said calmly, "Ms. Mitchell, it's time to go back."

Carol pulled the knife away from Pearl.

"Mr. Rossi, she tried to harm me. I won't let her go!"

Matteo replied, "We'll discuss it back home."

Carol glared at Pearl. "You're lucky, but don't get too happy!"

Pearl glanced at the elder Carol called Matteo.

After reminding Carol, he returned to the car.

Pearl was shoved into the car too, with a black cloth over her head.

They didn't want her knowing the route.

Nothing happened on the way.

She didn't know how long it took.

Then Pearl was led out of the car.

The hood came off, revealing a large medieval castle.

She didn't know what was outside.

But this castle suggested a powerful owner and a big clan, not just one castle.

"Get in!" She was pushed inside.

"Where am I? How long are you keeping me here?" Pearl asked, unsure of what was next.

"It depends on Ms. Mitchell. Maybe a few more days," Jorge replied coldly.

"Take care of yourself," he added before leaving.

Pearl wasn't locked up; she could roam freely.

A few Eldorian women walked by. She greeted them, but they ignored her, heads down.

Pearl was puzzled about this place.

She checked the exits; the castle was locked, and the walls had high-voltage wires. No way out.

The castle was huge. It took her about twenty minutes to walk around the walls.

Suddenly, she heard something break, followed by whipping sounds.

"Don't hit me! I'm sorry! I shouldn't have broken the plate. Ms. Romano, please spare me!"

"Spare you? How many times has this happened? Everyone here follows my rules, or I'll beat you to death!" Giulia Romano's rough voice echoed.

They spoke in Eldorian, which Pearl understood.

Inside, she saw Giulia whipping a young girl, Chiara Conti, who looked about fifteen. Chiara was trembling, hugging her head, her hands torn and bleeding, her body covered in whip marks.

Pearl saw Chiara was close to death.

Giulia's whip hit Chiara's injured hands, making her scream in pain, too weak to resist.

Others were present but too scared to intervene.

"Chiara, this is your fate," Giulia said, whipping hard until Pearl grabbed the whip, stopping her.

"If you keep beating her, she'll die!" Pearl said. "It's just a broken plate. Do you have to be so ruthless?"

Giulia glared at Pearl. "How dare you stop my whip? Do you have a death wish?"

The others gasped.

Chiara, seeing a savior, moved to Pearl's side, holding her head. "Please save me."

Pearl saw Chiara was emaciated and terrified, clearly abused for a long time.

This place was still feudal.

Pearl couldn't stand it. At fifteen, she was in school, not suffering like this.

"Do you control everyone's life here? How can you talk about killing people so casually?" Pearl asked Giulia.

Giulia pulled the whip back. "If someone dies here, we just feed them to the dogs. No one needs to know. You're new, right? How dare you touch me! You're out of luck!"

She sneered, her vicious eyes on Pearl.

Then, several men walked in.

"What do you want?" Pearl asked, wary.

Chiara trembled more, tugging at Pearl's pant leg. "Don't say anything. You'll die!"

"Seize her!" Giulia commanded. "Let's see how long she lasts!" She held a barbed whip, ready for Pearl.

Pearl looked at the men, then at the women too weak to fight.

She quickly moved to Giulia's side.

Giulia was thinking about how to punish Pearl, but when she looked up, Pearl was already behind her, grabbing the whip and wrapping it around her neck.

Giulia's face was cut by the barbs.

She was startled, never expecting the tall, slender Pearl to be skilled in combat.
