Chapter 184 Save Her
Upon hearing the noise, Pearl instinctively hit the brakes.
She glanced into the alley and saw a group of men gathered together.
These men were skinny and looked shady. Pearl spotted Sophia in the corner, surrounded by them, looking panicked and fearful. Not knowing how to handle the situation, Pearl observed in shock.
Her face was extremely pale.
"Don't come any closer! If you dare to hurt me, my grandfather won't let you off!" Sophia had lived a privileged life and had never been to such a place or been bullied.
Sophia originally planned to have dinner with Aurora.
Aurora was on the phone, so Sophia wandered around nearby. After walking for a while, she got lost and ended up in this chaotic place.
Sophia wanted to find Aurora, but as soon as she turned a corner, she saw these men acting suspiciously.
When they saw Sophia, their eyes were fixed on her.
She had never encountered such looks before and was immediately scared.
"This lady looks nice and is dressed well. She must have some valuable things on her."
These men were addicts, with many needle marks on their arms. Seeing Sophia dressed in designer clothes, they wanted money.
"Lady, since you ran into us, it's a coincidence. We have no money, would you give us some?" Their eyes were fixed on Sophia.
Sophia touched her body but had no money.
She had come out empty-handed, without cash, and had even forgotten her phone.
She was annoyed with herself for being so careless, not even bringing her phone.
Sophia looked around again. Where was Aurora?
Wasn't Sophia just here?
Why couldn't she find her now?
"I don't have any money," Sophia said defensively. "Don't come any closer!"
They moved closer to Sophia, putting pressure on her to make her step back and search for something to defend herself with, but there was nothing nearby."How could you have no money? Look at your clothes; you must be well-off. If you don't have money, let your parents pay to ransom you."
They saw this as a great opportunity to make some money and wouldn't let it go easily.
When they approached to grab her, Sophia turned pale and screamed, hugging her head.
"Stop!"
Just when Sophia was in a desperate situation, she heard someone speak.
The men moved away from Sophia.
"Another pretty lady," they said, looking at Pearl.
"So there are two of them."
Queenie stood reluctantly behind Pearl.
If it were up to Queenie, she wouldn't care what happened to Sophia, because Sophia had offended her.
However, Pearl was worried and came over.
Queenie, concerned for Pearl, followed her.
Pearl looked at the men from head to toe. They were dressed poorly, their faces didn't look good, their hair was messy, and they were all very skinny, seemingly in a daze.
Pearl had never gotten out of the car in this area.
But she had heard it was chaotic, with all kinds of people.
These addicts just needed money. Even worse, Sophia might even get raped.
If Pearl hadn't intervened, Sophia would have been in big trouble today.
"You just want money. I have money and can give it to you."
Pearl took out the a thousand dollars from her wallet and handed it all to them. "But you have to let her go!"
Sophia looked at Pearl, somewhat stunned. She hadn't expected Pearl to actually save her.
Sophia was momentarily at a loss.
This couldn't be true
"One thousand dollars." The man taking the money was still greedy and unwilling. "She must have more than a thousand dollars."
Pearl said, "This is all the cash we have, we don't have more. Let her go, or you'll end up in more trouble."
"Are you trying to scare us?" They found it laughable. "Do you think we grew up being scared? Just you, selling you would be worth more than a thousand dollars."
"At least a hundred thousand dollars."
Pearl said, "A hundred thousand dollars? Who carries that much cash around? It's unrealistic. How about this: you let her go, and I'll get the money for you."
"Do you think we're kids? If we let her go, you'll all run away!"
They continued, "Looking at you, you all look pretty good. Selling you would be worth several thousand dollars. If you want to ransom yourselves, you need more money!"
Pearl noticed their greed and remained calm as she spoke, "I'm trying to negotiate with you. let her go and the money is yours. It's better than nothing. But it looks like you don't want to cooperate.I guess I will have to call the police."
Pearl took out her phone.
Their expressions changed. "Call the police? Do you have the time?"
They ran towards Pearl, trying to grab her and take her phone.
When seeing this, Pearl raised her other hand and sprayed pepper spray to their eyes.
"Queenie!" Pearl shouted.
Queenie, still a bit flustered, saw that Pearl had succeeded and sprayed the men behind her with her bottle of pepper spray.
Queenie kicked wildly.
The men were hit and started rubbing their eyes.
Pearl looked at Sophia. "Sophia, run over here quickly!"
Sophia was already scared stiff, her legs weak. Upon hearing Pearl call her, she snapped out of it. "Okay!"
Sophia quickly ran towards Pearl.
But one of the men grabbed Sophia's leg, making her scream. "Let go of me! Let go of me!"
Pearl saw this and stomped on the man's fingers with her high heels.
The man screamed in pain and was forced to let go of Sophia.
Pearl said, "Let's run quickly!"
The spray was pepper spray, and they would recover soon.
Pearl couldn't guarantee everyone's safety; she just wanted them to run quickly. Once they got back to the car, they would be much safer.
Sophia was terrified, her legs still weak, limping as she ran.
They still had a bit of distance to cover in the alley.
Sophia's tears were already streaming down her face. Seeing the men getting angrier and about to catch up, she didn't want to drag Pearl down. "You guys run, I can't run anymore, I..."
Sophia choked up.
Pearl grabbed Sophia's hand and said sternly, "Hurry up. These men are drug addicts. They'll do anything for money. Your grandfather only has you. Do you want to make him worry about you again?"
These words instantly sobered Sophia up.
In this world, she only had her grandfather left.
For her grandfather, she had to pull herself together.
"Okay." Sophia nodded, running with tears on her face.
Pearl and Queenie practically carried Sophia as they ran.
When they reached the car, the men also had caught up.
They got into the car, and Pearl didn't even have time to fasten her seatbelt. She quickly started the car, and they heard a thud noise.
A stone had hit Pearl's car window.
