Chapter 613 Thank You, Mrs. Brown

Faced with Janetta's reaction, Henry didn't get mad; instead, he found her even more adorable.

Taking Janetta to the art exhibition was just the first stop on today's agenda. Next up, he had plans for lunch, shopping, and a movie—typical couple stuff.

Janetta was a bit lost in thought and didn't notice the car heading towards the commercial center.

By the time she snapped out of it, Henry had already parked the car.

"Where are we going?" She sensed Henry had the whole day planned, but she wasn't thrilled about spending it with him.

Henry gave a slight smile and, like a true gentleman, helped her out of the car. "Dear Janetta, today is all about you. Next up is lunch; I've got a table at Francina Restaurant. Hope you like it."

Janetta frowned. "Sorry, Henry, I don't know if I gave you the wrong idea. Let me clarify, I..."

"You don't like Francina's food?" Henry cut her off, not because he didn't get it, but because he didn't want to.

Janetta knew she couldn't explain it clearly, so she called Pearl to come over.

After hanging up, she gave Henry a small smile. "Well, I'm used to having Pearl with me. If you're uncomfortable, you can leave. I'll wait for her here."

Henry wasn't going anywhere. "Why would I be uncomfortable? It's not like we're strangers. I'll just order another meal for a pregnant woman."

He was impossible to shake off, which left Janetta feeling a bit annoyed.

When Pearl arrived, Janetta kept talking non-stop, not giving Henry a chance to get a word in.

In the afternoon, Henry got a phone call and had to leave, and Janetta finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Pearl teased her, "I think you should give Henry a shot. He seems pretty nice."

Janetta waved her hand dismissively. "I could never live a life like yours. I'm destined to be alone."

Pearl was about to say something when Janetta's phone rang. It was Damian.

Janetta glanced at Pearl and answered, "What's up?"

"Come to the hospital." Short and to the point, he hung up right after.

It was probably Savannah instructing the medical staff to keep a close eye on Damian, not letting him leave the hospital to find Janetta, so now he was asking Janetta to come over.

Pearl was angry and indignant. "What's with those two? One says you're trouble, and the other can't wait to see you. Don't go. You both agreed not to see each other again, so don't meet up."

Janetta pursed her lips. "Maybe I should go and see. Or take this chance to make things clear, so they stop bothering me."

Pearl thought it made sense to clarify things, so she went with Janetta to the hospital.

In the ward, Damian's assistant was there too, giving Janetta a look that made Pearl very uncomfortable. If she weren't pregnant, she would've wanted to argue with him.

"What do you want?" Janetta asked flatly, like she was just going through the motions.

Damian nodded, and the assistant handed Janetta a medical report, revealing a shocking detail: Janetta and Damian are not blood-related.

In other words, they weren't siblings.

The document fell to the ground, and Janetta looked up in horror. "Is this some kind of joke?"

Damian was stunned for a moment, then explained, "I didn't set this up. It was purely a coincidence. I was just curious about your unusual blood type and asked the doctor. I didn't expect..."

"You didn't expect the doctor to give you a report, right?" Janetta looked at Damian like he was some kind of joke.

The next second, she burst into tears, not even sure why she was crying, just feeling this overwhelming sadness that needed to come out.

Pearl hugged her, gently patting her back, while shooting Damian a warning look.

Damian didn't seem to care about the warning. Instead, he was grateful to Pearl for taking care of Janetta during this time.

While talking, he nodded to his assistant, who then handed over a gift.

Pearl squinted in displeasure. "Mr. Clark, what's this for?"

Damian smiled slightly. "I know Mrs. Brown doesn't care for small gifts, but this is the best I can offer. Please accept it."

"No need. We don't have that kind of relationship." Pearl didn't want to stick around and was about to leave with Janetta, but the assistant blocked their way.

Pearl sneered, "What? Mr. Clark wants to keep us here?"

Damian sighed, "Let them go."

The assistant stepped aside, and Pearl gave Damian a cold look before leaving.

Little did she know, Damian wasn't looking at her at all; his eyes were glued to Janetta, and he immediately felt a pang of pain as he watched her leave.

The assistant thought he was unwell and wanted to call the doctor.

Damian quickly stopped him and instructed, "Order flowers for Janetta, one bouquet every day, and have the florist write different messages of blessing."

The assistant, puzzled and surprised, wanted to ask but was afraid of being scolded, so he just nodded and noted it down.

Damian then added, "Also, write a few blessing messages for me to choose from."

"Mr. Clark, I heard that Ms. Clark's art exhibition was sabotaged recently, with nearly a hundred paintings missing. If you can find those paintings, Ms. Clark might see you differently," the assistant said.

Damian was surprised and asked, "The paintings from the exhibition are missing? When did this happen?"

The assistant immediately pulled up the news for him to see. When he saw that Henry had helped Janetta solve the problem, Damian almost couldn't resist rushing downstairs to find her.

"Go find the paintings, and also look for Byron," Damian instructed on the spot.

The next morning, Janetta received the first bouquet of flowers from Damian. Just as she was wondering, she saw the signature on the card and threw the flowers directly into the trash can.

Pearl happened to come downstairs and, seeing this, got curious. She leaned in gossipingly, "Who sent them? Henry?"

Janetta shook her head and walked upstairs.

"Hey, it looks like there's a card. Let me see."

"Don't look." Janetta grabbed the card and tore it to pieces.

Pearl looked at her in disbelief. "It was Damian, right?"

Now it was Janetta's turn to be shocked. She didn't understand how Pearl could think of Damian. Was it just because they weren't siblings?

Janetta had never disclosed much about herself to Pearl, so she couldn't possibly know what Damian had done to make her feel suffocated.

Though puzzled, she couldn't let Pearl know the truth.

Janetta shook her head and denied, "Why would he send me flowers? Really, it was a fan, but a bit of a creepy one, so I didn't want to accept his flowers."

Pearl believed her and said she would inform the servants to thoroughly check and confirm everything that came in. Anything with an unfamiliar signature would be thrown away.

This was exactly what Janetta wanted. She smiled. "I was just wondering how to handle it, and you came up with a solution. Thanks, Mrs. Brown."
