Chapter 465 So Cruel to Her
Oscar had people around him and sharp instincts.
Kevin couldn't hurt Oscar.
But in any fight, there are always casualties.
Kevin didn't care about Haley, and while Oscar wouldn't use her as a hostage, he wouldn't let her go either.
Seeing things go south, Kevin quickly said, "Oscar, you're here for peacekeeping, the antidote, and to find someone. You and the Eldorians have no deep-seated hatred, and there's no unresolvable grudge between us."
"I can help you achieve all your goals. I don't want to be your enemy." Kevin's priority was to rule the Eldorians, and opposing Oscar was a bad move.
Oscar didn't even take Kevin seriously. "I want Pearl."
He wanted Pearl safe in front of him; everyone else was secondary.
Haley looked at Oscar, heartbroken.
She was foolish. Even now, she loved Oscar, but he always loved Pearl.
Oscar would risk everything for Pearl, while she meant nothing to him.
Kevin ignored her in front of everyone, and Oscar exposed her identity.
"Oscar, if you don't back off, you'll never see Pearl again."
"Then I'll kill you first!" Oscar said seriously.
He aimed at Haley's shoulder and fired, making her scream in pain.
Despite her training, she had never felt such pain. It felt like the shot was tearing her apart.
She had no strength left, couldn't stand, and smelled blood. She was dizzy, and no one cared about her anymore.
Kevin was abandoning her; she was nothing now.
She might as well be dead.
If she could die taking Oscar with her, it would make her life worthwhile.
With this thought, Haley didn't hesitate, but she had been shot and couldn't react faster than Oscar's men.
Oscar's subordinates pinned Haley down immediately.
Meanwhile, in the slave camp, all the slaves revolted, attacking Kevin. The ruler of the Eldorians was RavenWing, but many experiments were conducted by Kevin.
They resented Kevin.
Kevin didn't expect his meticulous plan to be ruined by Jeffery and Oscar. He had no time to react and could only throw a bomb and escape quickly.
"Chase him!"
Although it wasn't the best time, Oscar was more eager to find out Pearl's whereabouts.
This battle was a groundbreaking war for the Eldorians. Oscar helped the Eldorian people rebuild their homes, released all the slaves, and even met Louis and the unconscious RavenWing.
Seeing Louis's injuries made Oscar frown. "Didn't you see Pearl?"
"Pearl was taken by Jeffery; she's safe now." With Jeffery by Pearl's side, she would be fine.
Oscar pursed his lips and signaled his men to help Louis and RavenWing.
Louis was crucial for the Eldorians, and they needed stability. A ceasefire would be the best outcome.
Oscar then told Elijah and Nicholas, "Go find Jeffery and Pearl."
Jeffery didn't have a phone, and Pearl might be hurt. Kevin had escaped, and the worst-case scenario was Kevin finding Pearl first.
Oscar couldn't bear that thought.
"Mr. Brown, don't worry. We've already sent people out. We won't let anything happen to Ms. Harris," Elijah and Nicholas said almost in unison.
Louis saw the determination in Oscar's eyes. They exchanged a glance but didn't speak.
Louis noticed Oscar's deep feelings for Pearl.
Oscar had already grasped some of the situation.
"Louis, you need to step up here. I don't like war."
Oscar's low voice made Louis understand what he should do. He replied hoarsely, "I don't like war either."
He hated war and the loss of life. Seeing people suffer pained him deeply. But he felt powerless to change Eldoria's situation.
Luckily, Kevin had fled, and Oscar showed up at the right moment. All of this was because of Pearl.
Oscar said nothing and turned to leave.
He was still in Eldoria, but he had other plans for dealing with Haley.
Haley had brought Pearl here and impersonated her. Not long ago, Haley even tried to drag him to death with her. How dare she?
Now, Oscar stood in front of Haley, who was covered in deep whip marks.
But that wasn't the end. When Haley's skin was torn, they poured salt water on her, and her screams gradually weakened.
In her daze, Haley saw the cold Oscar in front of her and couldn't help but smile coldly. "Oscar, I treated you so well, and this is how you repay me? Do you really disregard the kindness I showed you before? Are you just going to watch me die? You didn't torture me like this before, Oscar. You were kind to me, you let me go! Why are you so cruel now? Is it just because I wanted to die with you?" Haley screamed hysterically.
She had no strength left, but she was still so ferocious. She was unwilling to give up on Oscar; she just wanted to be with him in life and death.
But look at Oscar. His attitude towards her had always been cold, from beginning to end. It was Pearl who made him lose his composure time and time again.
She had asked Oscar many times, and he always gave her the same answer: in his heart, there was only Pearl.
But that was so cruel to her.
Everyone had thought they were the perfect couple before.
"Oscar, I was the one who came into your life first. I saved you," Haley said, her voice breaking.
