Chapter 432 It Should Be on Carol's Wrist

Pearl saw him leave and walked over to his desk, where a few books were scattered.

She flipped through a few pages, and a bookmark fell out. The pattern on it seemed familiar.

She felt like she'd seen it before.

Thinking back, she realized the people chasing her and Barbara had this pattern on their clothes.

Pearl was shocked. "How could it be such a coincidence? This pattern must be a symbol. Could Louis be connected to RavenWing?"

"I'm done," Louis said, coming over with two bowls of spaghetti. "Come and eat."

Pearl quickly hid the bookmark in her sleeve. "Okay."

They sat facing each other with a simple plate of spaghetti between them.

"I'm not good at cooking, so don't be too critical," Louis said softly.

Pearl picked up a fork, stirred the spaghetti, and kept her eyes on Louis.

Louis was eating seriously, but when he noticed Pearl's gaze, he stopped. "Did you find something?"

He knew she had been looking through his books.

Louis probably also knew why she had come, but he didn't expose her.

Pearl didn't plan to hide it either. She placed the bookmark on the table. "I've seen this pattern before. Last time, when I was being chased, the people had it on their clothes. So you really are connected to RavenWing."

Louis was indifferent. "It's just a pattern."

"How could it be such a coincidence?" Pearl continued. "Since you knew I would look through your things, this bookmark must have been placed here on purpose for me to find. Why did you do that? What is your purpose? Is it good or bad?"

Pearl was no longer sure whether he was good or bad.

His gentle demeanor made it difficult for her to think of him as a bad person.

Seeing Pearl become cautious, Louis's lips curled slightly. "That should be my question."

"Now I'm asking you."

"Did you go to see the person who tried to kill me yesterday?"

"Yes," Louis didn't hide it. "She is my sister, Carol."

"You have a sister? Then why does she want to kill me? I have no grudge against her!" Pearl was very shocked. She had never met Carol, so why would Carol want to kill her?

Louis shook his head meaningfully. "What I said isn't entirely accurate. Actually, I don't know if she is my sister. I just have a feeling that she doesn't quite seem like it."

This was the first time Pearl had heard such doubt. "I don't quite understand. What do you mean by that? She is your sister, you grew up together. How could she not seem like it?"

Louis, sitting there, didn't treat Pearl as an outsider. "Carol went missing when she was young. She only came back recently. She was very young when she disappeared, and she was already an adult when she returned. I can only say that her personality is very different from what I imagined."

Pearl said, "It's normal for her to change. Maybe she went through something."

"You have a point." Louis laughed lightly. "I don't even know what I'm suspicious of. I just feel that Carol used to cry when she saw an insect being stepped on. She shouldn't have such a jealous personality. And, I have another point of doubt about you, Pearl!"

He suddenly looked at her with a heavy expression.

"What?" Pearl was puzzled.

Louis looked at her wrist. "You said before that this cross bracelet was given to you by a man, but did you know that this is a relic of my mother, Francesca Ricci? It should be on Carol's wrist."
