Chapter 122 The Truth Revealed
Pearl and Oscar both tacitly agreed and didn't say much more.
Pearl went back to her room to pack her things.
Arthur's funeral was over, and it was time to go back.
"Pearl! Pearl!"
Kittie suddenly walked in.
Pearl stopped what she was doing and turned around, saying, "Mom."
Kittie sat down beside Pearl, wanting to talk to her.
Pearl sensed it and sat down beside Kittie. "Mom, what's wrong?"
"This time Oscar came," Kittie said.
"Yes."
Kittie looked at Pearl and said, "You two were talking about getting a divorce before. He came to help you this time. It doesn't seem like a divorce anymore. If you both are like this, there's no need to trouble others."
Pearl and Kittie didn't want to owe Oscar too much, and it wasn't clear how they would repay him later.
This isn't good.
Pearl said, " I will thank Oscar. We came back to our hometown without telling Oscar."
"Why is he still helping you?" Kittie didn't understand and said, "If you hadn't told me, I would have thought you married the right person. It's okay, even if it was a secret marriage. Now that everyone knows I have a good son-in-law, they are very enthusiastic. If it weren't for Oscar, it wouldn't be like this. I can't understand you both."
Pearl couldn't understand it either.
It was almost time to dissolve the three years of secret marriage. Why is there a need to announce that Oscar was Pearl's husband in public?
Kittie added, "I hope you live happily and find a man who loves you. Money doesn't matter. Of course, Oscar is excellent in every way, but it’s short-lived."
Pearl understood, but she knew that Kittie didn't want her to get trapped.
"I know, Mom."
Pearl smiled slightly and said, "Don't worry, I will definitely divorce this marriage."
Kittie held Pearl's hand, feeling a bit uncomfortable, saying, "I'm sorry to burden you, Pearl."
Pearl had endured this relationship with Oscar for so many years. Even if it was uncomfortable, she had long lost any feelings.
After Kittie left, Pearl felt like someone was still standing at the door, hesitating to come in.
Olivia and Isabelle were in a bit of a tussle.
Isabelle wanted Olivia to go in, but Olivia hesitated.
"Mom, Pearl is about to leave. If they leave, we'll miss them." Isabelle was anxious.
"You let me think about it," Olivia said.
Olivia and Pearl had a falling out before, not even considering family ties, and didn't know if Pearl would help Olivia.
Olivia was also a bit worried,
while staying at the door.
Pearl came out to check the situation.
Isabelle and Olivia were seen by Pearl at the door.
Now, Olivia pursed her lips and felt embarrassed to speak.
Isabelle looked at Pearl and called out, "Pearl."
Pearl noticed that Isabelle and Olivia had something to say.
"What's the matter with you?" Isabelle hesitated and asked, "When you mentioned Arthur's death that day, it wasn't an accident. Someone tampered with it. We want to know the situation."
"Come in and talk."
Pearl walked in, let Isabelle and Olivia sit on the sofa, and made two cups of tea.
"Pearl." Isabelle said, "I apologize for what my mom and I did before."
After all, we did so many rude things. It's still troubling for Pearl.
"It's all in the past." Pearl wasn't someone who held grudges.
Pearl wanted to find evidence. Even if it was just witness testimony, it would be good.
"You can tell me the truth, like about the murderer." Pearl looked at Isabelle and Olivia.
Isabelle confessed, "Pearl, I told Arthur about Olivia's detention, which led Arthur to look for you. He was incited by someone. I saw it that day. Arthur and someone were plotting something. You said the person who incited us is the same person who incited you. We don't know her name, but we know what she looks like. Can you help us?"
Olivia hesitated for a long time. For Olivia, letting Arthur rest in peace was what she should do. Arthur shouldn't have died for no reason.
"Pearl, we have paid a heavy price for Arthur's matter, and we have been punished." Olivia seemed to be getting old these days, with a few white hairs on her head. She said, "I'm sorry for the malicious things I said to you during the funeral. That was me being irrational. Now, as long as we can find the murderer who killed Arthur, I'm willing to do anything."
"Olivia." Pearl called out, "All these things are in the past. I didn't pay much attention to them. Life must go on, and we must look forward, not dwell on the past. I will find a way for Isabelle's internship."
It was already a good outcome for Isabelle and Olivia.
Pearl's connections were more powerful than Isabelle and Olivia's, so she wouldn't lose out.
"Thank you, Pearl." Olivia smiled with relief.
Isabelle also said, "Thank you, Pearl."
Returning to the main issue, Pearl took out her phone, opened the album, and directly placed a photo in front of Isabelle and Olivia, asking, "Is this the person who incited you?"
Olivia and Isabelle both looked at the photo, appearing a bit excited, and pointed to the picture, saying, "Yes!"
Isabelle and Olivia were equally surprised.
"How did you know?"
Pearl was prepared.
At the cemetery, Pearl secretly took a photo of Seraphina, ready to show Isabelle and Olivia for identification.
Pearl's guess was correct.
Only Seraphina would do such a foolish thing.
"I know this person. She wanted to cause trouble for me through the people around me and targeted your family." Pearl now understood that the person speaking behind the scenes was Seraphina.
"I saw it at the cemetery. That woman wanted to harm you, but she ended up killing Arthur!"
Isabelle was full of regret now.
Isabelle and Olivia wouldn't have been detained if they hadn't done the live broadcast, and there wouldn't have been subsequent events.
Seraphina used Isabelle and Olivia, disregarding the consequences to achieve her goals.
"I'll call the police first." Pearl said.
The live broadcast had a significant impact, and Seraphina's incitement of Isabelle and Olivia had a certain responsibility.
As for the matter of Arthur, it would only be resolved after catching Seraphina and questioning her specifically.
"Pearl, you must catch her!" Olivia said in excitement, "This woman is so vicious. She harmed us and even killed Arthur. She must be brought to justice!"
Isabelle and Olivia now understood that they had been manipulated by others.
Pearl called the police, asking them to check Seraphina and Hathaway's whereabouts, even if they found one of them.
But Seraphina and Hathaway had already left.
They must have gone back.
"I have to go back. I'll let you know if there's anything." Pearl said.
"Okay, thank you." Olivia said.
Pearl had already called the police to find Seraphina, and Pearl hurried back.
Pearl came with Kittie and Evans, planning to go back with them.
Oscar and the others had already left.
Pearl was in a hurry and hadn't had a chance to tell Oscar about this matter.
At this moment, Seraphina was still at Brown Manor, drinking chicken soup.
Since Seraphina became pregnant, Hathaway had been very kind to her, treating her well and taking care of her.
Seraphina's complexion had also improved.
While drinking chicken soup, Seraphina suddenly received a phone call.
