Chapter 123 Being Abandoned

Amelia Jones, the manager of the nightclub, called.
Amelia and Seraphina hadn't been in touch for a long time, and Seraphina wanted to share some good news with Amelia.
After answering the phone, Seraphina smiled and said, "Amelia, I'm doing well now. The child is healthy, living in a big house with someone taking care of us. Especially, my husband's mother likes me a lot. I'm sure I'll have a better life in the future."
However, Amelia anxiously said, "Seraphina, I called you to tell you that something has happened. The police came asking about you. Did you break the law?"
Upon hearing this, Seraphina's face changed drastically, saying, "Are the police really looking for me?"
"Yes, they are trying to find out about you, but I don't know why."
Before the conversation could continue, Seraphina hung up the phone.
Everyone knew that Seraphina lived in The Brown Family.
The police would arrive there soon.
Seraphina couldn't be caught by the police, so she had to leave.
Seraphina hurriedly ran out, not saying where she was going, and quickly left Brown Manor.
Just as Seraphina ran out, she heard the sound of police cars.
They were looking for Seraphina.
With a pale face, Seraphina could only sneak away, full of guilt.
Seraphina didn't want to be caught by the police. She had just started to live a good life and didn't want to spend the rest of her life in prison.
The police car stopped at Brown Manor.
Hathaway, upon hearing the sound, felt a bit flustered. Why were the police coming to their house?
Only to find out that the police were looking for Seraphina.
Since they were looking for Seraphina, it must be because she had broken the law, which made Hathaway's face look very unpleasant.
It was impossible for such a kind girl like Seraphina to be sought after by the police.
It was unclear.
Seraphina ran fast, afraid that the police would catch up, and wouldn’t stop for a second.
Feeling tired and unwell, Seraphina held her stomach and continued to run forward.
But Seraphina didn't know where to go.
Suddenly, Seraphina lost her sense of direction.
She couldn't go to the nightclub.
The police would go to Seraphina's hometown to find her.
She couldn't go there either.
Seraphina suddenly stopped in her tracks, almost forgetting about Haley.
If it weren't for Haley's words, Seraphina wouldn't have done these things.
It was the only way.
"Haley, that woman is here to see you," Mae heard someone outside saying and quickly came to report to Haley, looking down on Seraphina, and said, "Isn't she living well at The Brown Family? Why did she come to see you? We've only met a few times, but she acted like we're close."
"Which woman?" Haley, dressed elegantly, was trying on a dress.
This time, Haley was going to walk the red carpet.
It was Haley's first time, and she was carefully selecting a dress that would dazzle everyone.
The audience would notice Haley.
It was best if Haley's appearance was being compared to the most beautiful female celebrities.
Haley enjoyed being in the spotlight and hoped to become a top star one day.
"Who else could it be but Seraphina?"
Haley paused for a moment and looked back at Mae, saying, "It's her."
"I'll have her sent away."
But Haley said, "Wait. Let her in."
Mae didn't quite understand. According to convention, Haley wouldn't see Seraphina.
Unexpectedly, Mae was wrong.
Mae had to bring Seraphina in.
At that moment, Seraphina was sweating profusely, her hair disheveled, her clothes wrinkled and damp with sweat, looking very tired.
Despite having a pretty face, Seraphina looked disheveled at that moment.
Seraphina exclaimed breathlessly, "Haley, I finally get to see you."
Seeing Haley trying on a dress, with exquisite makeup on her face and adorned with jewelry on her hands and neck, she looked elegant.
An innate aristocratic demeanor.
This kind of nobility was unattainable by others.
Seraphina also envied it. Haley was born a winner.
Even though Seraphina had a pretty face, she could only work as a prostitute in the nightclub.
Looking at Seraphina through the mirror, Haley smiled coldly and asked, "What are you here for?"
"Save me, the police are running after me." Seraphina was still fearful, afraid of hearing the sound of police cars. Only Haley could save her.
"Mae, please leave. I need to talk to her alone."
"Okay."
Then Mae left.
There were only Haley and Seraphina in the room, along with a pile of dress samples.
There was also a balcony nearby.
Seraphina sat on a chair by the balcony, with a small table holding a cup of coffee, still warm. Seraphina held her cup, trying to warm herself, and said anxiously, "I have no way out now. The police will arrest me. I don't want to go to jail; I don't want to!"
Haley, however, remained calm, sipping her coffee, saying, "What crime have you committed?"
"I harmed someone." Seraphina's voice trembled, feeling guilty, saying, "I caused Arthur's death. I had Arthur kidnapped Pearl. I wanted Pearl dead, but she was lucky and didn't die. I made Arthur kill her first, so that it wouldn't be my crime, but Arthur didn't want to listen to me. This is a kidnapping offense, and I would go to jail. I don't want to go to jail. I'm afraid that Arthur will expose me because Arthur has seen my face. I harmed Pearl many times. What if they expose me? I can't let Arthur do that, so I tampered with the car. It exploded, and Arthur died. With Arthur dead, there would be no witness, so why are the police still after me?"
Seraphina was getting emotional, completely immersed in fear.
Haley now knew about Seraphina's deeds.
Indeed, Seraphina didn't disappoint Haley. She could cause a bit of trouble for Pearl. But Seraphina's usefulness ended there.
"You've done so many bad things, and you want me to save you? What are you talking about? How could I cover for you?" Haley said innocently, "I didn't expect you to be so wicked, causing someone's death. You're terrifying."
Seraphina's expression changed. She thought telling Haley would help her.
But it seemed Seraphina was mistaken.
After using Seraphina, Haley wanted to distance herself from the situation.
Setting down her cup, Seraphina stood up and said, "What are you saying? Didn't you tell me how bad Pearl was? You told me, and I went after her because of you. I thought we had a common enemy, but you deny it. It's all because of you!"
Haley sneered, "Did I say that? Who knows? Even if I did, I didn't make you do such wicked things."
Haley looked at Seraphina, saying, "Maybe it's time to call the police."
Seraphina's face turned ugly, saying, "Are you lying to me? I'm carrying Oscar's child in my belly. You said it was his. You're lying to me! I'm carrying his child, and you dare treat me like this!"
When it came to the child, Haley's eyes turned even more malicious, staring at Seraphina's belly, and coldly saying, "If another woman were carrying Oscar's child, that child would deserve to die even more."
