Chapter 569 Press Conference

Oscar rolled up to the sketchy park on the outskirts and spotted Ainsley.

"That's the mom of the kid who scrapped with Christopher," Pearl whispered, shocked that RavenWing had nabbed her. Did Ainsley piss off RavenWing?

Ainsley saw Pearl and went nuts, trying to lunge at her. Her eyes were full of rage, like she wanted to rip Pearl apart.

Oscar gave the nod to RavenWing's crew to yank the rag out of Ainsley's mouth.

"I'll never let you go. I'll ruin you all. No, I'll destroy your reputation," Ainsley spat out, venom dripping from her words.

RavenWing's guys moved to gag her again, but Oscar stopped them and simply gave Ainsley a swift kick, letting off some steam.

She yelped in pain but kept spewing curses.

Oscar asked, "We're the ones setting up this meeting, but Mrs. Davies, right? What's your husband's name?"

"No way! Let me go, or my husband will sue you all and throw you in jail." Ainsley spat at Oscar, hitting him square in the face.

Oscar wiped it off, looking disgusted. He tossed his coat aside and smirked coldly, "There's only one Davies family in Willow Creek, and you're not part of it. Don't try to scare me with a fake name. Spill the truth now, and I might let you off easy."

Oscar didn't need to be scary to make his point; his calm words made Ainsley feel hopeless.

"You..." She stammered, unable to finish a sentence.

"You've got two options: tell me who you really are and call your husband so I can chat with him. Or stay stubborn, and I'll leave these two guys here with you. What they do next, I won't care."

Oscar sneered, "By the way, I'm Oscar Brown. There's no other Oscar in Willow Creek, right?"

Ainsley was stunned, her eyes filled with despair.

She never thought she'd cross paths with someone like Oscar. Without hesitation, she begged, "Mr. Brown, I was wrong. Please let me go. I'll make my son apologize to yours. No, I'll make him be his lackey from now on."

"Is it fitting for someone from the Davies family to be my son's lackey?" Oscar asked with a half-smile.

Ainsley dropped to her knees, saying, "I'm not from the Davies family. My husband's name is Davies, but not from that Davies family. We just run a small business. Mr. Brown, please forgive my ignorance."

Oscar looked at Pearl, gently rubbing her head and softly asked, "What do you think?"

Pearl pouted, looking conflicted.

Oscar turned to Ainsley with a stern face. "Mrs. Davies, my wife isn't pleased with your apology. Here's the deal: once she's content, I'll let you go."

Ainsley tried to crawl towards Pearl but was held back by the two guys behind her.

Pearl stood up and walked out.

RavenWing had messed up her plan. This could've been handled legally, but now it was a mess.

She was pissed at RavenWing for acting on their own. This was in Willow Creek, not in Eldorians.

She wanted to call and chew out RavenWing, even if it was her dad.

"Mrs. Brown, what do I have to do to get your forgiveness? I know I messed up with my kid. Please give me another chance, please." Ainsley's desperate plea echoed behind her, but Pearl didn't even glance back as she walked away.

Oscar caught up, looking worried. "What's up? Why the sudden mood swing?"

Pearl shook her head. "Let her go. Make her transfer her kid to another school and keep him away from Christopher."

"Got it, I'll handle it right now." Oscar could tell Pearl was seriously upset, and he knew it had something to do with Ainsley.

Since RavenWing had already made a move and Ainsley wasn't from the real Davies family, he decided to wrap things up quickly.

Oscar quietly told the guys, "Take them back and let them know Pearl doesn't want to see them again."

RavenWing's crew got the message. One knocked Ainsley out, and the other bagged her and carried her off.

Just as they were about to descend the stairs, Oscar timely reminded them to wait until he had left before taking the person away. The night was mesmerizing. Oscar held Pearl in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, watching the bustling traffic below.

"Mrs. Davies called me a mistress. The more I think about it, the more I wonder if others think the same. But I can't go around telling everyone I'm not, right?" Pearl looked up at Oscar.

Oscar nodded. "Yeah, we need to find a way to clear that up. But how?" He tilted his head, pretending to think.

Pearl frowned, pouting. "Well, you better figure it out. I don't want to hear that crap again, or you'll be in big trouble."

"Okay." Oscar already had a plan but didn't spill the beans to Pearl.

The news about the Brown Group and Archie blew up overnight, with everyone buzzing about it online.

By the time work started, everyone at the Brown Group was on edge, and some were even job hunting.

At nine, a black SUV pulled up, and Archie hopped out.

As soon as he walked in, everyone was watching him, some openly, some on the sly.

Archie noticed but stayed cool, heading straight to the top floor.

Oscar and Pearl were waiting by the elevator and rushed to meet him.

"Is the press conference ready?" Archie asked.

Pearl looked confused, turning to Oscar.

Oscar was caught off guard. "Um, I forgot it."

"Mr. Brown, that's not very professional." Archie shook his head. "Good thing I have a backup plan."

He sent a voice message, setting things in motion.

Before Oscar and Pearl could figure out what was happening, reporters' cars started filling up the parking lot. In less than half an hour, the place was packed.

Pearl checked online and was stunned.

Archie was demanding answers from the Brown Group and threatening to take over if they didn't come clean.

It was a bold move.

She showed Oscar her phone.

Oscar glanced at it, his mouth twitching. While Pearl was distracted, he quietly asked Archie, "Are you seriously planning to take over the Brown Group?"

"If I didn't say that, how would the reporters show up so fast?" Archie patted Oscar. "How's your prep? If you're not ready, forget it. I can't afford to look bad."
