Chapter 364 He Has a Family
Oscar chuckled and pinched her nose. "If you love kids that much, we can adopt later. I don't want you to suffer. This baby was a surprise and has already caused you enough trouble."
Pearl smiled, "It's not hard. Just go with the flow. As long as I'm happy, everything's fine!"
Oscar gazed at her lovingly, a natural smile on his lips. "It's late. Let's go to bed."
"Okay." Pearl lay down, found a comfy spot, and quickly fell asleep. After all the running around, she really needed the rest.
Oscar kissed her forehead, then her lips, each kiss gentle but never enough. He held her close, soothing her to sleep. Soon, Pearl was out like a light.
Oscar watched her sleep, a happy smile spreading across his face. As long as she was there, he felt secure, ready to face anything.
The next day, Pearl woke up late. The sun was already high, and Oscar was gone. If it weren't for being in the villa, she might've thought their reconciliation was just a dream.
She got out of bed and walked out of the bedroom. The housekeeper was already preparing breakfast.
"Oscar," she called out.
Oscar, on the phone in the hallway, looked serious. Hearing Pearl, he hung up and walked over. "I'm here."
Dressed in gray loungewear, Oscar looked more approachable, shedding his usual aloofness. Seeing him, Pearl felt her worries melt away. She softened her expression and walked towards him. "How long have you been up? You didn't wake me."
Oscar held her shoulders and took her hand. "You were too tired. Didn't want to wake you. Hungry? I had breakfast made for you. Let's eat."
Pearl laughed, "It's so late, almost lunchtime. Why breakfast?"
Oscar raised an eyebrow, smiling. "Does my wife need a schedule? Wake up whenever you want. I'll always wait for you!"
"Won't that delay your work?" Pearl worried about his military duties. "You just got back from a mission. You must have a lot to handle. Don't wait for me. Focus on your work. I don't want to be a burden."
She was always considerate.
Even if she woke up and couldn't find him, she wouldn't complain. She understood he had a lot to deal with, although she would feel a sense of fallout and fear that he would leave again.
"I know myself," Oscar said, helping her down the stairs. "There are servants here. Now that your belly's big, call a servant if you need help, okay? No mistakes. Be good."
Pearl felt happy hearing his nagging and smiled, nodding. "I know. I'll listen to you. The baby and I will be fine."
Oscar couldn't help but worry. He had a family now—a wife and soon a child.
He helped Pearl to her seat and pulled out her chair. Usually, the servants did this, but he felt a sense of accomplishment doing it for her.
In love, he wasn't very experienced, but he knew he had to be attentive to his wife.
Pearl noticed Oscar had changed, though she couldn't pinpoint how. Maybe they were just closer now.
Breakfast was simple but varied. Pearl picked some eggs and beef, thinking as long as she got the nutrients, it was enough.
Oscar sat beside her, serving her favorite foods. "That's enough. I can't eat much," Pearl protested. She was pregnant but didn't need to clear all the food.
Oscar shrugged. "You're pregnant, but you haven't gained much weight. It felt so light when I lift you. You need more nutrition. Eat more."
"I can't eat that much," Pearl said. "I'm pregnant, not a pig. Not every pregnant woman has to get huge. This is just my body type. Don't act like a fool."
"A fool?" Oscar looked at her, momentarily at a loss.
"Exactly," Pearl said softly, eating what she had chosen. "Too much nutrition isn't good either. If the baby gets too big, it'll be hard to deliver. The baby and I are one. I know what he needs. I can't eat more."
Oscar listened and followed her wishes. "Alright, we'll do as you say," he said, a hint of helplessness in his voice.
Pearl sensed his disappointment. It was a sweet burden. He always thought she was still hungry or not eating well enough.
Pearl looked up at Oscar and leaned over to kiss his cheek, responding to his concern.
Oscar looked back, feeling sweet, touched his face. "You have oil on your lips."
Pearl laughed. "I know," she teased.
Oscar wouldn't back down, hugging her and kissing her fiercely. Pearl tried to dodge but wasn't as strong. She squirmed in his arms, laughing as his kisses tickled her.
"Do you admit you were wrong?" Oscar whispered, continuing to kiss her.
"I was wrong!" Pearl quickly pleaded.
Oscar kissed her a couple more times before stopping. Seeing her so happy, he couldn't help but smile. Their eyes met, and they saw each other in their gazes.
Pearl wrapped her arms around his neck and gently kissed his lips. With that small kiss, her heart started to race.
Oscar cupped her head with one hand, deepening the kiss passionately. Their lips and tongues intertwined, intensifying their intimacy.
Pearl's breathing became rapid as she passionately responded. Oscar's eyes turned red, unable to control his strong desire. He held her tighter, eager to claim her.
At that moment, Elijah and Nicholas quickly approached. They were still competing. Elijah said, "Let's see who can report first!"
"Alright, let's see!" Nicholas replied.
They hurriedly ran inside, not noticing the intense scene. They stood at the door, shouting loudly, "Oscar!"
"Oscar, I have an urgent matter to report!"
They even saluted formally and stood at attention in a military stance!
