Chapter 520 He Really Deserves to Die

More and more folks started chirping in with their two cents.

RavenWing just stood there, stone-faced and silent.

Then Louis stepped up. "The Eldorians' leader has always been a family gig. If you want the position, you gotta show what you’re made of."

Louis's icy stare cut through the crowd.

"So, what’s Ms. Mitchell got?"

"The people around her used to be a solider from Tranquiloria, right? And a diplomat from Serenea came looking for him. Now he’s one of Serenea’s crew!"

"Keeping these folks in Eldorians will wreck us!"

"No way, we can’t let them stay!"

Louis yelled, "I’m the leader now. If anyone’s got a problem, they can hit the road."

There were plenty of people in Eldorians; even if some left, he could still train new ones.

Bottom line, he wasn’t gonna let anyone badmouth Pearl, who was top dog in Eldorians.

But then RavenWing dragged Christopher onto the stage.

"Pearl is my daughter, she’s Carol. You all accepted the fake Kevin brought back before, so why not my real daughter? Like Louis said, if you don’t accept Pearl, then leave. Christopher is my grandson, Pearl is my daughter, and Oscar is my son-in-law. If any of you mess with them, I’ll tear you apart!" RavenWing’s voice was ice-cold, each word dripping with authority.

He was making his stance clear, fully backing Pearl and the others, especially Oscar.

He’d had a chat with Oscar before, worried about their future and Pearl getting hurt.

But he didn’t expect Pearl to be so set on being with him.

Oscar stuck by Pearl’s side the whole time, and Pearl even stood up and said, "Don’t worry. I promise you all here, Oscar and I won’t be the future leaders of Eldorians, and neither will Christopher. Thanks for coming to Christopher’s birthday party. I get what my dad’s doing. He wants to acknowledge me at the party to keep me safe."

With that, Pearl bowed to the crowd.

Louis wanted to say more, but Pearl shot him a look.

And those who had been gossiping were all booted out by Louis.

The ones who stayed were there to celebrate Christopher’s birthday out of respect for RavenWing. Christopher was happy to see so many people, but he knew they didn’t really welcome him.

Pearl made up her mind and said, "We’re heading back to Willow Creek tomorrow."

RavenWing knew Pearl would leave, but didn’t think it’d be so soon.

But before he could say anything, Louis jumped in, "The stuff with Serenea isn’t sorted yet. If you go back now, you might get hurt."

Pearl smiled and shook her head. "Oscar and I have already thought it through."

The better they were protected, the less chance they had left to Charles.

Pearl and Oscar made the call together.

Seeing the fire in Pearl's eyes, Louis knew he couldn't change her mind.

But he had to make sure she was safe.

He rasped, "Pearl, you can always come back here. If you want, the leader's spot is yours. And if you need anything, just hit me up. I'll be there in a flash."

Oscar had cash, and Pearl had some savings too.

Even though she handed over her shares to Magdalen before leaving, Magdalen didn’t actually take them. Those shares were still in her name. When she got back, she’d return them to their rightful owners. With Oscar’s business smarts, he could build another empire.

Money would not be a problem.

Louis let out a deep sigh.

He couldn’t sway Pearl, but he had a word for Oscar, "I know your history. You kept Pearl hanging for seven years and made her wait another five. Since you don’t wanna stay in Eldorians, the first thing you gotta do when you get back to Willow Creek is throw a wedding. If you make Pearl sad, I’ll come for you, no joke!"

A flash of menace crossed Louis's eyes.

If Oscar messed up, he’d stop at nothing to tear him apart.

"Of course, I will," Oscar said, looking at Pearl with all the love in the world.

He owed Pearl big time. Back then, he didn’t get his true feelings, and later he made Pearl think he was dead for five years.

"Then go back and get ready. Let me know the date, and Dad and I will be there."

"Okay," Oscar and Pearl almost said together.

They decided to head back to Willow Creek the next day.

They didn’t have much to pack, just some clothes. But then RavenWing showed up.

RavenWing handed Pearl a bank card. "Take this. I’ll put money in it every month. If you need anything, come to me anytime. I’ll always have your back."

He couldn’t stop her, but there were still a lot of loose ends here. Once things were sorted, he’d go to Willow Creek to see Pearl and Christopher.

If he could get used to it there, he’d stay in Willow Creek long-term, so he could be closer to Pearl and help with Christopher.

"No need. I’ve got money. When I get back, I’ll find a job. Oscar’s got a company too. We can take care of ourselves."

Pearl tried to push the bank card away, but RavenWing handed it back. He said, "I know what you’re thinking. Don’t worry, I’ll protect you this time. If you’re not cool with it, why not leave Christopher with me?"

They were taking a risk to draw Charles out, but with Christopher around, no matter how ready they were, he’d still be in danger. It’d be safer not to take him.

Pearl pressed her lips together. She knew Christopher would be super safe here.
