Chapter 337 Wrap-Up
Oscar said, "I'm starting fresh and need to let go of the past. Pearl's history. Once you finish this movie, we'll get married. Then we can meet each other's parents. You know my mom well, but I haven't met your dad yet. We need their blessing for this marriage to be truly blessed!"
"You're on the same page as me," Haley said, hugging his arm, overjoyed. "Oscar, thank you. I feel like the happiest woman in the world!"
She hugged Oscar tightly, leaning on his shoulder, eyes closed, savoring the moment.
Nothing made her happier than Oscar accepting her again.
Her efforts had paid off.
She knew Oscar still liked her; Pearl was just a distraction.
As long as she showed her dedication, he'd fall for her again.
Soon, she'd be truly happy.
Oscar held her with one arm. Despite his gentle actions, his eyes were cold.
Haley went home, still dreaming.
Her wedding with Oscar had to be grand.
She wanted everyone to know, so she quickly picked up her phone and called, "Dad!"
Kevin was silent for a moment, then chuckled. "What's up? You seem very happy today."
"Of course, I'm happy!" Haley sat on the couch. "I haven't been this happy in a long time. Oscar and I are getting married soon."
Kevin was indifferent. "Isn't this marriage something you got by swapping poison?"
"Dad, Oscar likes me!" Haley said confidently. "You know that. If it weren't for him, how could I have left The Crimson Eclipse Society? He liked me from the start. I just went abroad and gave Pearl a chance. Now, I'm just taking Oscar back!"
"Don't let your guard down!"
Blinded by love, Haley said, "Dad, don't worry. I'll be careful. Oscar and I are dating now. He finally sees my worth. You should be happy for me. When you meet him, you'll be satisfied. He wants to meet you too, which shows he really values me!"
"Are you sure he wants to meet me for the sake of your marriage?" Kevin was skeptical.
"I'm sure!" Haley said firmly. "You want me to be happy, right? Like you said, you have to fight for what you want. This time, I've given it my all!"
"Have you thought about what will happen if Pearl doesn't get the antidote once you get married? Won't Oscar resent you?"
Haley replied, "He doesn't like Pearl that much. He even wanted her to abort the baby. But Pearl, being foolish, fought for the baby. I won't let her live to affect my relationship with Oscar, whether it's her or her child!"
There was a hint of malice in her eyes. She never intended for Pearl to live.
She was confident that she and Oscar would be happy. How could she not be better than Pearl?
"Haley, I'll definitely attend your wedding, but don't let this marriage cloud your judgment." Kevin still cared for Haley.
"I got it, Dad. I'll show you Oscar's sincerity!" Haley was very sure of herself. She couldn't be outdone by other women!
She was arrogant and proud.
These days, Oscar accompanied Haley to and from work, hardly leaving her side.
In others' eyes, Oscar was the perfect boyfriend—rich, handsome, willing to spend money on Haley, and caring for her.
People in the entertainment industry were envious.
Eileen, attending events, heard many rumors about Oscar and Haley.
Gossip columns wrote: "Oscar is deeply in love with Haley, can't get enough."
Eileen was annoyed.
It bothered her more than Haley's direct actions against her.
"Stop looking at it!" Pearl took her phone away. "Staring at it won't change anything."
Eileen said, "You seem to have let it go!"
Pearl, eating fruit, said, "I've come to terms with it. My main concern is the baby now. Let's just finish this show. There will be an outcome!"
"Do you really think that way?" Eileen asked. "I think you still love him."
"I still love him, but love doesn't define my life," Pearl said with a smile. "He's not the only person I can love."
Eileen couldn't accept it.
It felt like all the good things were taken by bad people.
Pearl leaned back in her rocking chair. "Don't worry, I'll fight back when necessary. She won't have it easy!"
She had let go of her marriage with Oscar but hadn't forgiven Haley.
After three months, the movie wrapped up.
They held a wrap party.
"I'm so happy this movie is done!" Penelope raised her glass to toast with Pearl. "I have to thank you. Without you, I couldn't have finished this so quickly!"
Pearl laughed. "No need for thanks. Just remember to share the profits with me!"
"You're all about the money. Don't worry, if this movie makes money, you won't be left out!" Penelope understood.
The script was written by Penelope, but Pearl had put in a lot of effort.
Pearl said, "My money is for my child. If you treat my child well, you'll benefit too. So, be good to him!"
"What are you talking about!" Penelope said. "Aren't you going to raise your own child? It sounds like we're going to be separated."
Pearl just smiled without saying anything.
"Let's drink. We're so happy today. Let's not go home until we're drunk!" Emma joined in the fun.
"Alright, let's go wild today." Even the usually rational Eileen filled her glass. "I haven't been this happy in a long time."
"Getting Eileen to drink, this is a first!"
The group chatted, drank, and danced joyfully.
Midway through, Penelope, perhaps drunk, hugged Pearl and started crying.
Pearl was helpless.
Eileen, slightly tipsy, went to the balcony for fresh air.
She had only been there a few minutes when Brandon came over with a glass of water. "Eileen, drink some water. It will help with the headache."
Eileen looked at Brandon with a dreamy gaze. He smiled, his lips very attractive, with dimples when he smiled, and his eyes were bright. He was indeed quite handsome.
"You're so concerned about me." Eileen tilted her head and smiled. She was drunk and stumbled over, placing her hands on his shoulders. "We've only worked together once. Do you have a crush on me?"
Brandon stiffened, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"What!" Suddenly, Penelope's angry voice came through. "The TV show didn't pass. The theme isn't restricted, so why can't we air it on TV!"
