Chapter 513 You Will Definitely Regret It
Jimena meant what she said. If she couldn't be with Louis, she'd rather be alone.
Louis was about to respond when Jimena cut him off, "Mr. Mitchell, I haven't seen any women around you. Do you like men?"
She couldn't look him in the eye after that.
Louis's face darkened, but before he could reply, RavenWing walked in. "Good to see you're awake. Take these meds," he said, handing them to Louis.
Louis took the pills without a word. Jimena poured him a glass of water, but RavenWing gave her a look, and she left the room.
RavenWing said, "Diplomats from Serenea are here. If you're feeling better, you should go negotiate."
Louis frowned. Serenea and the Eldorians usually didn't interact. Were they here because of Oscar?
"I get it," Louis said coolly.
Louis then met Serenea's diplomat, Mackenzie Lawson, a stunning woman.
Mackenzie got straight to the point. "I'm here to discuss cooperation. We need a lot of your medicine. Also, Mr. Mitchell, please bring Oscar. He's from our country, and I have important matters to discuss with him," she said, looking at Louis.
Louis sneered. "You're just using cooperation as an excuse to find someone. Find them yourself."
Mackenzie stayed calm. "The person we're looking for is with the Eldorians. This is a polite warning before we use force."
Louis wasn't backing down. "You dare challenge us? The Eldorians won't retreat an inch!"
Even though he was injured and pale, Louis's authority was undeniable.
Mackenzie repeated, "I want to see Oscar."
Louis didn't want to deal with it but passed Mackenzie's message to Oscar. "I'm telling you this not as a messenger, but to let you know the Eldorians will always support Pearl. If she's threatened or harmed, we'll be the first to object!"
They kept Oscar around because Pearl liked him. But if he made her sad or put her in danger, they'd get rid of him.
Oscar understood from Louis's look. He'd been separated from Pearl for five years and wouldn't let it happen again. He had to handle this well.
Oscar went to meet the Serenea diplomat and was shocked to see Mackenzie.
"You know I have a wife and kid. Why are you here? Who are you trying to provoke?" Oscar's face was grim, and his tone was harsh.
Mackenzie walked up to Oscar and said, "I know you have a kid. But Mr. Stewart said Christopher would be raised by him. And didn't you divorce Pearl?"
"Mackenzie!" Oscar shouted, stepping back.
Mackenzie was the fiancée Charles had arranged for him, but Oscar had made it clear from the start that his heart belonged to Pearl and Christopher. There was no room for anyone else.
"You're crazy. Pearl is RavenWing's daughter. The people of Serenea won't accept her. Do you think the officials of Tranquiloria will agree?" Mackenzie pressed.
"That's none of your business," Oscar replied coldly. His engagement to Mackenzie was just a formality arranged by Charles; they barely knew each other.
"I'm your fiancée! If Mr. Stewart hadn't saved you, you'd be dead!" Mackenzie shouted, rushing toward him.
She was agitated but only wanted Oscar to face reality so they could be together. She had fallen for him the moment she saw him.
"Leave now, while the Eldorians still don't want to start a war with Serenea," Oscar said, turning his back on her. But Mackenzie rushed in front of him again.
"You've had Christopher for so long. Has he gotten better? Only Mr. Stewart can save him," she said firmly.
Oscar's fists clenched, veins bulging. If it weren't for RavenWing and Jeffery, he might have been swayed. But they had worked hard, and Pearl wouldn't want to be separated from Christopher again. Christopher had become more talkative since being with Pearl.
He couldn't let Christopher leave Pearl again.
"Will you leave on your own, or should I have someone throw you out? Don't waste my time. If you want to start a war, go ahead!" Oscar said.
Mackenzie was speechless. She wanted to say more, but Giovanni and his men surrounded her. She couldn't cause a conflict in Eldorian territory.
Before leaving, she threw a parting shot at Oscar. "Oscar, you'll regret this!"
Oscar knew he wouldn't. He would stay with Pearl, even if it meant dying. He couldn't let her down again.
After leaving the Eldorians, Mackenzie got a call from Charles.
"Did you tell Oscar everything I instructed?" Charles asked.
"Yes, Mr. Stewart. I told him everything. And I've already applied poison to myself. Oscar spoke to me at close range, so everything will go as planned," Mackenzie replied.
"Good," Charles said, satisfied.
Mackenzie held her phone tightly. She was determined to get the man she had set her eyes on.
