Chapter 137: Are You Injured in That Aspect?

Oscar pushed Pearl away while pressing the answer button.

Pearl was right beside him, so she heard the call clearly.

"Oscar, I'm so scared, can you come over? I think I saw Seraphina again!"

After Haley's fearful scream, there was a busy tone on the phone.

As Oscar put away his phone, he said to the driver in front of him, "Take me to the hospital first, and then take Pearl to Serenity Haven Estates."

Oscar's tone brooked no argument.

"Roger," The driver said,

changing the route according to Oscar's words.

In less than forty minutes, they arrived at the hospital entrance.

Oscar looked at Pearl sitting beside him and said, "I'll be back later. I hope to see you when I get back!"

It was not a plea from Oscar, but a command.

After saying this, he turned and left.

The indifference in his manner cut through Pearl's heart, making her feel very sad.

When Oscar saw Pearl with another man, he got jealous and angry.

What about Oscar?

Oscar was married, but Haley was still the first love in his heart. It wasn't right for them to not maintain a distance from each other now that he was attached.

So how could he ignore Pearl like this while also demanding that she behave appropriately and not make a scene?

Most people wouldn't take it lying down, but Pearl loved Oscar deeply and couldn't bear to hold a grudge against him.

Seeing Pearl pushing the door open to get out, Oscar hurriedly caught up with her. "Mrs. Brown, Mr. Brown instructed me to take you to Serenity Haven Estates. If you get off now, wouldn't that put me in a difficult position?"

Pearl said coldly, "Just say you couldn't stop me."

Pearl couldn't stay at Serenity Haven Estates.

Tonight, he would go to accompany Haley. Whether he would come back or not was still uncertain.

Pearl didn't need to stay in such a lonely room.

The driver was almost in tears. "Can I follow you, then?"

If he didn't take Pearl to Serenity Haven Estates and let Pearl leave, he would get in trouble the second Oscar found out!

Pearl had a headache. She said, "Don't follow me, I won't disappear."

After saying this, Pearl thought the driver wouldn't follow her anymore, but to her surprise, she still heard footsteps behind her.

Pearl turned around, impatiently saying, "I know you have your duties, but you can just tell Oscar that I didn't allow you to follow me. If you follow me again, I will call for help!"

It was night time. If Pearl really called for help and attracted attention, he wouldn't be able to explain himself.

The driver had no choice but to stand in place, watching Pearl walk away, while he called Oscar.

Oscar had just arrived at the door of the ward.

Seeing that it was the driver calling, he answered.

"Mr. Brown, Mrs. Brown won't let me take her back to Serenity Haven Estates, nor let me follow her," The driver said.

Thinking of how stubborn Pearl could be, Oscar furrowed his brow involuntarily. "I see."

After ending the call, Oscar intended to call Pearl, but then he remembered that Pearl never listened to him. If he called now, Pearl might not even answer.

He sent a text to Pearl: [Don't make me come to get you.]

"Oscar?"

Before Pearl could reply, Haley's uncertain and weak voice came from the ward.

Oscar held the phone and pushed the door open.

He saw Haley sitting weakly on the hospital bed in a blue and white hospital gown, her eyes filled with anticipation.

Oscar frowned and walked towards her. "You're overthinking it. Seraphina alone will bear the consequences of her actions. It has nothing to do with you, so you don't need to be so afraid."

Haley pinched her palm, lowered her head, and murmured, "That's a lie, I saw it, I can't pretend I didn't see anything, Oscar, life is really fragile!"

"Everything has consequences. If you keep this up, I'll have to find you a therapist," Oscar stood not far in front of Haley. Standing at just over 6 feet tall, his imposing figure and cold gaze made him appear distant.

Haley became anxious and shouted, "Oscar, don't look for a psychologist. If you do, what will happen to the movie I'm filming? The crew won't want to work with a lunatic. I'll ruin the reputation that I worked so hard to build. I don't want to lose my only chance to make it big. I beg you."

Haley half-knelt on the hospital bed, reaching out to grab Oscar's wrist.

Her voice became increasingly hoarse.

However, Oscar coldly pushes her away.

Oscar told her solemnly, "Just finding you a psychologist for counseling doesn't mean you're a lunatic.

"Haley, if there's a problem, you need to seek treatment. If you can't do the movie, I can arrange something else for you."

Upon hearing this, Haley immediately interrupted Oscar. "No, I don't want that! I want this movie, I've put a lot of effort into it. Oscar, just spend a little time with me, I know it might be a bit much to ask of you, but you only need to spare a little time for me every day. I beg you. Only you can save me. I don't want to die. I don't want to go crazy."

In the end, Haley sobbed quietly.

Oscar said coldly, "Haley, I came here because of our friendship. I'm married now. You saved me before, so I can't possibly watch you go crazy in front of me."

"No! I won't listen!"

Haley didn't want to hear what Oscar was going to say next. She didn't want to hear him say he loved Pearl. As long as he didn't say it, it meant that there was still a chance.

Oscar didn't have the patience to continue the conversation with Haley. "I'll get the doctor for you."

As soon as he finished speaking, Oscar turned around and walked away, showing no regard for how Haley felt.

The doctor soon arrived.

Seeing the syringe in the doctor's hand, Haley had no choice.

The moment she was injected with the sedative, Haley smiled bitterly. "Oscar, I'm really scared. As long as I see you, I'll feel reassured. Can't you spare a little time for me every day?"

As she spoke, Haley's voice became softer and softer.

Oscar ignored her.

After Haley fell asleep, Oscar left her ward.

Oscar didn't leave the hospital, but went to find Quincy.

Quincy happened to be on duty and was surprised to see Oscar coming over. He said, "Aren't you supposed to be with your wife tonight? Why are you here?"

"Why do you think?" Oscar said, throwing the question back at Quincy.

Quincy exclaimed, "Are you injured? Where? Can't get it up?"

"Get lost!" Oscar said unhappily, without mincing words.

Quincy shrugged and said unhappily, "Then where else could you be injured?"
