Chapter 15 Apology
The bustling exhibition hall fell silent as a sudden dispute erupted, capturing everyone's attention at the center of the hall.
Oscar's figure appeared abruptly at the entrance of Exhibition Hall C, dressed sharply in a suit with a cold, stern gaze that drew all eyes towards him.
Just moments ago, Pearl had slapped Haley in a fit of anger. The crisp sound echoed through the hall, leaving everyone stunned. Haley clutched her reddening cheek, tears welling up in her eyes, looking pitiful.
Oscar scanned the crowd before fixing his gaze on Pearl. His brow furrowed, and his voice was low and firm. "Pearl, apologize to Haley."
Pearl stood frozem, staring at Oscar in disbelief, her eyes filled with confusion and hurt. Janetta couldn't hold back and stepped forward to defend Pearl, saying, "Oscar, get your facts straight!"
Ignoring Janetta's accusations, Oscar kept his gaze firmly on Pearl. He knew he had to stand on the side of justice at this moment, even if it meant causing Pearl some temporary distress.
"We'll discuss when we get home." Oscar's tone was unyielding. "But now, apologize to Haley first."
Pearl bit her lip, reluctant but unable to resist Oscar's insistence. She lowered her head and softly apologized to Haley. Haley, nestled in Oscar's arms, looked on smugly.
Janetta turned away in frustration, unable to understand or accept Oscar's actions. Oscar, meanwhile, comforted Haley, gently asking if she was okay.
Oscar then called Harold over and instructed, "Get some pain relief and anti-inflammatory medicine." Seeing Haley's swelling cheek, he felt a pang of guilt. Under these circumstances, Haley couldn't possibly shoot the promotional video for the Brown family's products.
"We'll postpone the shoot." Oscar decided on the spot. "We'll reschedule once Haley has recovered."
Upon hearing this, Pearl felt a wave of desolation. She turned and left the Exhibition Hall C, unwilling to face those people. Janetta, seeing this, followed her out, fearing she might do something rash.
In Oscar's arms, Haley watched Pearl leave, a glint of triumph in her eyes. She knew she had won this round.
The crowd in Exhibition Exhibition Hall C gradually dispersed. The relationship between Oscar, Pearl, and Haley had become even more delicate and complicated because of this incident. What impact would this argument have on them? Only time would tell.
