Chapter 960 Airsickness

Lyra could get up; she was just airsick, not paralyzed.

But seeing Jeffery like this was a first for her.

His face was so close to hers that even though she didn't touch her cheek with the back of her hand, she knew it must be red.

"I can manage on my own," she said, sitting up and taking the medicine with some warm water.

The medicine wouldn't work immediately.

After taking it, she lay back down, feeling exhausted.

She had no choice; her head was spinning, aching, and she felt a bit nauseous.

Jeffery knew she was feeling awful. Seeing her so weak, he gently covered her with a blanket. "Get some sleep. Once the medicine kicks in, you'll feel much better when you wake up."

Lyra was indeed sleepy. She drowsily asked, "Where did the blanket come from?"

The blanket was soft and comfortable, warming her up.

Jeffery chuckled softly. "I asked the flight attendant for it. Don't worry about these things now. Just sleep."

His gentle words made her drowsiness irresistible, and Lyra soon fell asleep.

When she woke up, the plane hadn't landed yet.

It was dark all around. She noticed the window shades were drawn, and it was pitch black outside.

She moved slightly.

Even that small movement woke Jeffery next to her.

Jeffery opened his eyes, dazed for a moment before realizing what was happening. He rubbed his forehead, his voice husky from sleep. "You're awake? How do you feel?"

As he spoke, he naturally adjusted the blanket on Lyra, as if he'd done it many times before.

Lyra realized their situation was a bit intimate.

Their seats were right next to each other. While she had been sleeping, Jeffery had also fallen asleep, and they had unknowingly leaned against each other.

It was almost like sharing a bed.

Once she started thinking that way, there was no going back.

Now, Lyra couldn't look at Jeffery the same way. She felt that if she looked at him too long, she wouldn't be able to control her thoughts.

She averted her gaze and shifted slightly away. "I... I feel much better now. Thank you."

Jeffery noticed her small movements but didn't say anything. He just stood up.

As he moved, the distance Lyra had carefully created disappeared instantly.

They were so close they could almost feel each other's breath. In the darkness, an unspoken intimacy and tension spread.

Jeffery seemed oblivious. "Are you hungry? Do you want something to eat? I can ask the flight attendant to bring something."

Then he went to call the flight attendant.

Lyra didn't stop him because she was indeed hungry.

She hadn't eaten much at lunch to catch the flight, and after sleeping on the plane, her stomach was growling.

Soon, the flight attendant brought their meals.

Flying business class had its perks, like better meals.

While not as good as a restaurant, it was much better than the usual in-flight food. Of course, it was more expensive.

But Jeffery didn't mind.

He even thought the options were too limited. Seeing the steaming pasta, he frowned. "Sorry, this is all they have right now. Is it okay?"

Lyra wasn't picky. "It's fine, thanks. I can manage."

She didn't want someone feeding her.

Some people might like that, but she definitely wasn't one of them.

Lyra ate quickly, clearly very hungry. Even though she ate fast, she remained composed, looking almost like a mirror image of Jeffery beside her.

Lyra was almost done and was about to put down her utensils.

Suddenly, Jeffery took a napkin and wiped the corner of her mouth. "You got some on your face."

Lyra froze.

She stared at him, her eyelashes fluttering rapidly.

Jeffery was focused on wiping her face, but her intense gaze was impossible to ignore.

Their eyes met.

In that moment, Lyra's heart nearly jumped out of her chest.

She quickly looked down, pressing her hand to her chest as if trying to calm her racing heart. "Um... I'm still not feeling great. Could you take the tray back?"

After Jeffery left, she finally felt relieved.

Lyra lay back in her seat.

She couldn't shake the feeling that Jeffery had done that on purpose. Was it just her imagination?

The plane landed at nine in the evening.

The first thing to do was check into the hotel.

Fortunately, Jeffery had already booked the hotel. Interestingly, Lyra and Mia's rooms were next to each other.

Mia was thrilled.

Lyra felt relieved but also a bit inexplicably disappointed. She didn't know why.

"We're so close! It'll be easy for me to visit you at night," Mia said, too happy to notice Lyra's mixed feelings.

Seeing her friend's smile, Lyra convinced herself to stop overthinking.

After putting her luggage in her room, Lyra started unpacking. She realized she had forgotten to pack her underwear.

She was stunned.

Should she go buy some now? But it was late, and the stores were probably closed. International delivery wasn't as convenient as back home.

Lyra was in a bind.

She stood by the bed, deep in thought, and then had an idea.

She could ask Mia. Maybe she had extras!

Lyra quickly packed her clothes and went to Mia's room.

After a while, Mia opened the door, surprised to see Lyra so soon. "Lyra, you're here early! I was going to visit you after my shower."

"I need a favor... Can I come in?" Lyra asked hesitantly.

Mia was puzzled, but let her in.

A moment later, Mia was laughing so hard she almost fell over. "You forgot to pack that! Well, I have extras. You can borrow some."

"But one set won't be enough. We'll have to buy more tomorrow."

Lyra sighed in relief. "Thanks. I'll go shopping tomorrow."

It was too late now, or Lyra would have gone out herself.

Even among girls, this kind of thing could be a bit awkward.

Mia's extras were unworn, which made Lyra feel better.

Back in her room, she took a hot shower and realized Mia's size was quite different from hers...
