Chapter 610 I Have a Plan

"Thanks for the ride and for helping me out today," Janetta said.

When they got to Pearl's place, Janetta hopped out of the car without a second thought.

Henry was left a bit stunned. Most girls would jump at the chance to hang out with him, but Janetta was different; she seemed eager to get away.

Feeling a bit let down, Henry called out, "Aren't you going to invite me in?" He flashed his best smile as she turned back. "I'm kinda thirsty. Mind if I grab some water at your place?"

Janetta frowned and shook her head. "Sorry, I'm just crashing at someone else's house. It's not really convenient. Mr. Doe, you should head back."

With that, she walked off without another word.

Watching her go, Henry felt a pang of regret and cursed himself for being an idiot.

Janetta wasn't like other girls; he needed a different approach with her. He'd been too foolish.

He noticed the curtains on the second-floor window move and saw Janetta's silhouette. Her graceful figure made his heart race. This was just a minor setback; he'd come back stronger.

Feeling better, he left, humming a tune.

Inside, Pearl had been watching Henry. Once he was gone, she asked Janetta, "You really don't have any feelings for him?"

Janetta replied firmly, "Nope. I'm planning to leave here. I don't want to get involved with anyone else besides you. Plus, love feels kinda distant to me now; I can't expect it."

Her eyes dimmed, and sadness welled up inside her.

Pearl walked over and hugged her, gently comforting her. "No matter what happened before, believe me, everything will get better. What belongs to you will come back to you."

These words touched Janetta deeply, and her eyes filled with tears. She quickly pushed Pearl away and scolded, "I finally managed to stop thinking about those sad things, and here you are bringing them up. You're punished to sleep with me tonight."

"No way, Oscar wouldn't agree to that. Besides, if you want to smoothly get the money to pay back Henry, you have to drop that idea." Pearl sat back down, casually flipping through a notebook on the table. Seeing the receipts inside, she suddenly remembered something.

She pulled out her phone and checked the surveillance footage, discovering that the person who came to pick up the paintings each time was indeed the same person, and they always drove the same car.

There shouldn't be any problem, but Pearl didn't give up and checked the surveillance from the first day the paintings were picked up.

The person who picked up the painting on the first day greeted Pearl and was very polite to the servants.

The person who picked up the painting on the second day was very cold, as if they didn't know her or the servants.

So, the person was switched on the second day. But why wasn't the first painting displayed at the exhibition?

As she was thinking, the license plate number caught Pearl's attention. The familiar number reminded her of the woman who had followed them that day and later left in a car with that license plate.

Janetta saw her dazed expression and leaned over to ask, "What's wrong?"

"This was Savannah's doing. She sabotaged the exhibition." Pearl pointed to the license plate number and shared her thoughts.

Janetta couldn't understand what Savannah would gain from doing this. Ruining the exhibition would indirectly damage Damian's reputation. As his wife, shouldn't she care about her husband's reputation?

"You don't believe it?" Pearl asked, looking at her in disbelief.

Janetta shook her head. "No, I just can't figure out what she stands to gain."

"Isn't it obvious? She wants to ruin you. She couldn't do anything when Damian was around, but now she can do whatever she wants." Pearl thought for a moment and added, "Don't worry, I'll help you settle this score. If she dares to bully you, she's bullying me. I don't believe Savannah can act with impunity in Willow Creek."

Janetta hugged her gratefully, saying "thank you" over and over.

Knowing Savannah was behind the exhibition sabotage, Pearl decided it was time to take action.

After leaving Janetta's room, she immediately shared her thoughts with Oscar, suggesting they gather evidence and present it to the investor, letting them deal with Savannah.

Oscar shook his head. "Gathering evidence will take too long. The investor have suffered such a big loss; they won't give Janetta time to find the truth. We need to make the enemy confess voluntarily."

"You have a plan?" Pearl laughed, knowing Oscar must have a strategy.

Oscar nodded and mysteriously beckoned her over.

Pearl leaned in, expecting to hear the plan, but instead, Oscar kissed her.

Feeling the warmth on her cheek, she was momentarily stunned and then shyly glanced at Oscar.

Oscar said, "Can't I kiss you?"

"You can, but just a kiss isn't enough. Let me help you." Pearl laughed softly, playfully sitting on his lap, wrapping her arms around Oscar's neck, and gently blowing into his ear.

Oscar growled, stopping Pearl's actions. "Don't tempt me; you can't handle the consequences."

Pearl chuckled, "How do you know I can't handle it?"

Oscar frowned. "You're pregnant."

Pearl laughed. "Does being pregnant mean I can't flirt with you anymore?"

Oscar was at a loss for words, unsure of how to explain to Pearl how much he was suffering and how many cold showers it would take to cool down, so he said nothing and leaned in to kiss her neck.

Pearl quickly begged for mercy. "No, don't kiss there; it tickles. Stop."

Oscar let her go, tapping her nose. "Go back to your room and rest. I need to make a call."

It was time to take action.

Pearl didn't throw a tantrum and obediently left the study.

The exhibition incident was still a hot topic online. Although Janetta refunded the tickets immediately, she was still being attacked online. Some even smashed the glass of another exhibition in the middle of the night, and several paintings in that exhibition were vandalized.

The wall had the words "The person who harms others should die" written in red paint.

Janetta stood in front of the words, her face turning pale. She knew it was Savannah's doing, but she didn't know why she did this. Wouldn't ruining her indirectly ruin Damian as well?

"Why do you think she's doing this?" Janetta choked up.

"Who? Do you know who did this?" Henry's voice interrupted Janetta's thoughts. She quickly wiped away her tears and forced a smile. "Mr. Doe, what brings you here?"

As she spoke, Janetta looked around for Pearl and Oscar, feeling relieved when she saw them inspecting the broken glass.

Henry noticed this detail and sighed, "Janetta, believe me, even if I wanted to do something to you, I would get your permission first. I won't act recklessly."

"Thank you for respecting me." Janetta smiled faintly.
