Chapter 310 Father and Daughter Reunion
"Shut up!" Pearl snapped. "How could you say that? I really misjudged you!"
Oscar didn't flinch, taking her slap directly.
His cheek reddened, but he smirked with indifference. He faced her again.
A cold glint appeared in Oscar's eyes as he sneered. "If this makes you give up on me, then it's worth it!"
Pearl trembled with heartbreak and anger.
She'd never met such a terrible man.
"If you want me to sign, fine. I want this divorce too!" Pearl grabbed the pen, signed the papers, and threw them at him. "Get out of my house!"
Oscar's expression didn't change. The lawyer quickly gathered the papers.
"Mr. Brown, it's done," the lawyer said.
Oscar nodded, stood up coldly, and left without looking back at Pearl.
After they left, Pearl collapsed on the couch, exhausted.
She watched Oscar leave, clenching her fists, feeling a heavy weight on her heart.
Oscar stopped at the door of the villa but his face was extremely ugly, he looked back through the door to see what was going on inside, but everything seemed to drift away.
"Mr. Brown," the lawyer said, "Ms. Harris signed. We can process the divorce now."
"Get lost!" Oscar shouted. "Take the paper and get out!"
The lawyer, startled, quickly left and went back to Haley's.
Oscar, agitated, punched the wall, blood blurring his hand.
He stared at the house, eyes red.
He knew Pearl was heartbroken.
He had to do this to protect her.
As long as she was alive, there was hope.
"Mr. Brown, where to now?" Harold asked, worried about Oscar's bleeding hand.
Oscar ignored the wound. "Let's get in the car."
The lawyer returned to Haley's place.
He was Haley's lawyer.
Haley had seen their failed divorce attempts many times. Worried, she had her lawyer act for Oscar.
"Is it done?" Haley asked, holding a cup of hot milk.
"Yes, everything's taken care of," the lawyer said.
Haley smiled, taking the documents.
She saw the signed divorce papers.
"They finally signed," she said, happy. She handed the papers back to the lawyer. "Process them quickly. I want to marry Oscar."
Once she married Oscar, Haley could finally relax.
She was determined to become his wife.
"Okay," the lawyer said, leaving with his briefcase.
Haley leaned back, smiling, feeling incredibly pleased. She relaxed and put on a face mask.
She started imagining her grand wedding with Oscar, picturing herself as the happiest bride in the world.
Just then, she heard footsteps. Thinking it was the maid, she said, "You don't need to do anything here, you can go."
But the footsteps didn't stop.
Frowning, she removed her face mask. "I said I don't need you!"
When she looked up, she was shocked. "Dad."
"Haley," Kevin said, smiling. "Long time no see. You've grown up."
Haley ran to hug him. "Dad, you're finally out. I've missed you so much!"
Kevin, in his fifties and taller than Haley, patted her head. "You've had a tough time these years."
"It's not hard," Haley said. "Compared to what you went through, mine's nothing. Plus, I'm a star now. I can support both of us."
Kevin's eyes were full of meaning. "I don't need it. Our business isn't over. I'm out to restart it."
Haley's face turned grim. "Dad, are you sure? So many people died. Even if you're out, the police will be watching. It's too risky!"
Kevin looked at her. "Do you still like Oscar?"
Haley looked away. "Dad."
Kevin smiled. "I know what you've done, including poisoning Pearl. That poison came from RavenWing. You got it, so you're connected to him. Haley, you have to repay kindness. I'll work for RavenWing for the rest of my life."
Haley didn't want to go back to that life. "Can't I choose for myself just once?"
"I saw your mother recently," Kevin said. "She's still as foolish as ever, not realizing her mistakes."
Haley's eyes turned cold. "Why bring her up? I won't acknowledge her."
"I raised you, so I know you well," Kevin said. "Once you make a choice, don't back down. Once your hands are stained with blood, it's nearly impossible to clean them."
Haley had tried to cleanse herself once, by saving Oscar.
Those people, including her father, were caught, but she was fine and wasn't discovered.
But in the end, for Oscar, she went back to her old ways.
She knew there was no escaping it now.
If she wanted to survive and get what she wanted, she had to be ruthless.
"I understand," Haley said, smiling at Kevin. "Dad, I'll follow your lead."
Kevin stroked her hair, proud of how beautiful she had become. "Don't be afraid. I still have a bargaining chip. As long as you're Haley, RavenWing won't make things too difficult for you."
Haley didn't quite understand. 'Why would the mysterious RavenWing go easy on me?'
But it was true.
The poison developed by RavenWing had ended up in her hands, which meant she was still important.
