Chapter 884 No Interest
Yara was crying loudly, "That was my wedding gift! You can't take it away from me! Dad, you always said people should keep their promises, but you're just a big liar!"
Yara's dad felt helpless.
Now that the house deeds were returned, he didn't want to keep embarrassing himself in front of everyone. He didn't care whether Yara was willing or not; he picked her up and carried her away, letting her struggle on his shoulder.
Saskia gently stroked Benjamin's little head, "Benjamin, she doesn't understand anything. Don't feel pressured. But when you're at school, don't deliberately ignore others."
"Got it."
Benjamin followed Saskia back home. When Jade heard about the incident, she burst into laughter. "I can't believe my precious grandson is already so popular in kindergarten."
But getting back to the point, Jade said, "Eight house deeds, that's quite a fortune. If we start building a foundation from a young age, it wouldn't be a bad idea."
"This..."
Saskia was genuinely surprised by Jade's thoughts.
What did kids know at this age?
"Mom, I admire your thinking. For Benjamin, what does it matter? That little girl was just acting on impulse."
Even if they liked each other now, there was a long ten to twenty years ahead, and people's hearts would change.
Nathaniel didn't want Benjamin to be tied down by a marriage agreement from such a young age.
From his own experience, it wasn't a good thing; it was a burden.
Jade defended herself, "I was just thinking out loud, not seriously. Look at you, getting all worked up. Is it necessary?"
"Of course, it's necessary. I had a hard time because of this before. Shouldn't I make sure Benjamin has a better life now?" Nathaniel's words were indisputable.
"Alright, alright, I won't bring it up again. You do whatever you want. I'm just here to take care of the kids and cook. I can't interfere with your decisions."
Jade took Benjamin away.
Saskia and Nathaniel exchanged a smile.
Pearl came over with her child on the weekend, and the two kids played together while Saskia and Pearl watched, smiling.
Saskia chatted with Pearl about Benjamin receiving the house deeds, and Pearl laughed, "Kids these days, you never know. But Benjamin getting eight house deeds shows he's quite charming. My Christopher even got himself a little follower."
"Who?" Saskia asked.
Pearl began to recall, "This kid is somewhat connected to us. I have a friend named Eileen, and her daughter is Maeve. She used to come over often, but recently they haven't been around. They're moving abroad."
Saskia was surprised, "Eileen, isn't she the famous actress?"
"That's her."
When she first met Eileen, Eileen was just a small-time actress. Now she's a top star, with producers and TV networks vying for her.
Indeed, excellent people attracted other excellent people. Saskia felt she needed to be even better.
And she did become better, gaining more respect and recognition. Later, when people mentioned her, she was "Ms. Fuller."
No longer just Nathaniel's wife, Mrs. Egan.
She even reconciled with Amy and others, becoming good friends.
Jimena's situation was stable.
Pearl had planned to take Christopher to Eldorians during the summer.
Jeffery also planned to go personally.
Seeing Jeffery alone, Pearl thought about how everyone around her was getting married. Barbara was expecting, and Saskia and Nathaniel were happy.
Magdalen had found a man who adored her, even though Oscar initially disapproved. That man later proved his love for Magdalen.
Even Adrian had good news last month, twin sons.
Now, only Jeffery was left.
She shouldn't say too much, but Jeffery had helped her so much and stayed by her side for so long. In her heart, Jeffery was already family.
She decided to speak up.
"Jeffery, I think everyone is finding their happiness. You should find yours too."
A man as excellent as Jeffery wouldn't have trouble finding someone if he wanted to.
Jeffery knew what Pearl meant. When Oscar was presumed dead, those five years were his best chance, but no matter how hard he tried, he never won Pearl's heart.
Eventually, he accepted it.
Being close to happiness was a form of happiness, too.
"I feel very happy now. Whenever you need me, I can be there to help. And RavenWing specifically asked me to take good care of you."
"But I shouldn't be your whole life. You should have your things. Jeffery, Barbara has kids now. You should get married too, and then..."
Jeffery didn't let Pearl finish. He chuckled, "Is the purpose of life just to get married and have kids?"
"Pearl, I think I'm doing great now."
Seeing Pearl so happy, he was already content.
Moreover, being an experimental subject had damaged his body significantly. Although he had recovered, he was still different from ordinary people. And his heart only had room for Pearl; how could he let anyone else in?
"I know you're doing well now, but you should be even better. Otherwise, you'll be lonely. Look at my dad, in the end, we were there for him."
If he were alone, no one would have found him after he passed.
Jeffery understood Pearl's good intentions, but he couldn't let go of Pearl to love someone else. Young Pearl had already taken root in his heart.
His only wish was to stay by Pearl's side, even if it meant dying alone; he had no complaints.
"Then I'll sign up for body donation when the time comes."
That way, his body could be used for research and study.
"You..."
Pearl was upset by Jeffery's words. How could he think like that?
Pearl firmly disagreed, "I'm a traditional person. When someone dies, they should be buried properly. Donating your body, what is that?"
"Don't think about those things. If you don't have other plans, I'll find you a date. As your sister, I'll personally vet them!"
Pearl's tone became serious, and her expression grew stern.
"Forget it, I'm too busy every day to think about it."
