Chapter 65 Did You Really Want to Help Me Find This Woman So Badly?
He hadn't been back in the country for very long, so it wasn't possible for him to have feelings for her.
Pearl followed his footsteps, walking side by side with him.
Adrian enjoyed the feeling of strolling with her, a slight smile appearing on his lips.
However, a car drove by, breaking the tranquility of the moment.
The vehicle passed right in front of them. Afraid that the car might hit Pearl, Adrian instinctively pushed her to the side, while he walked on the outer part of the path.
Oscar witnessed this scene through the rearview mirror. His eyebrows furrowed, his expression cold, his lips forming a straight line as he noticed the ease on Pearl's face.
She seemed to enjoy being with Adrian.
This had happened a few times without Oscar's knowledge.
Didn't she like the man named Magee? Adrian wasn't named Magee, right?
Oscar couldn't help but clench his fists. Pearl cared a lot about someone in her heart, and she also cared about the man in front of her. This made Oscar feel a bit frustrated.
"President Oscar, Secretary Pearl is also here, accompanied by a man," Harold saw them through the rearview mirror and couldn't help but remind Oscar.
Oscar's gaze turned cold toward Harold.
Harold hadn't realized it yet, but Oscar's eyes told him that this was not a good thing.
He wanted to hit himself in the mouth.
His possessiveness and selfishness couldn't allow him to tolerate his own woman being with another man.
Harold actually mentioned this matter in front of Oscar.
He couldn't help but break out in a cold sweat, nervously saying, "President Oscar, are you getting off now?"
Oscar's gaze stayed on the rearview mirror. The man and woman were walking side by side, looking very content, like a couple.
He saw Adrian's affectionate gaze toward Pearl. Oscar narrowed his eyes, even colder, and said, "Secretary Pearl left work early today?"
Harold, not too confident, said, "It seems... yes."
Did she leave work early to see Adrian? Oscar clenched his jaw, withdrew his gaze, and coldly said, "I'm getting off!"
Harold hurriedly came over to open the car door for Oscar.
Oscar buttoned his suit, calmly got out of the car, without even a glance in that direction, as if he had never seen Pearl here before.
Harold was a bit hesitant, looking toward Pearl's position.
He didn't know if today Oscar was upset, whether it would be his death or Pearl's.
He could only pray silently that things wouldn't become too bad.
Coincidentally, Pearl and Adrian walked over just as Oscar got off. Both of them saw his figure. Pearl was surprised. How did he come to her school? So, she stopped in her tracks.
Adrian noticed Pearl's movement, raised his gaze, and called out, "President Oscar."
Oscar turned his head to look at Adrian and said, "What a coincidence."
Adrian said, "This is not a coincidence. You're Mr. Edwards's, right?"
Oscar didn't say anything, his cold gaze glanced at Pearl, as if questioning why she was with Adrian.
Pearl didn't know why Oscar came to see Eric today.
But every time he came to see Eric, she didn't know, so she didn't explain anything about it either.
"President Oscar," Pearl said to him coldly, as if calling a leader.
This attitude made Oscar very uncomfortable. He spoke directly, "Secretary Pearl, it seems like you're not here to work but to see an old classmate."
Pearl choked for a moment. Today she happened to run into Adrian, but she couldn't say her true purpose.
Pearl looked up and said, "I took a leave of absence and reported it to the finance department."
A cold smile appeared on Oscar's lips. He was convinced that she took a leave of absence to meet Adrian, so their relationship was truly unusual.
Adrian didn't want to cause trouble for Pearl, so he quickly explained, "I just happened to run into Pearl, it's not what you think."
Oscar didn't think so. They had run into each other multiple times, so this matter was not so simple by chance.
They were able to meet every time, and Pearl was so happy about it, making it even more complex.
"President Oscar, you're here too!" Eric knew Oscar had arrived and came to greet him, but he didn't know about the contradiction between them. He just said warmly, "Now that everyone is here, let's go to the restaurant. This time I will host you properly."
Oscar nodded at Eric and didn't say much.
After several encounters, Eric had some understanding of Oscar. He was cold and didn't like to use social formulas. He was decisive and efficient in his work, so Eric didn't mind.
Adrian looked at Oscar and said, "Please, President Oscar."
Oscar had a cold face and got into the car directly.
He didn't greet Pearl, wanting to see if she had any self-awareness.
Harold was quick-witted. He looked at Pearl and mediated, "Secretary Pearl, you can sit next to President Oscar."
He already knew that Oscar was displeased, so he didn't want Pearl to anger Oscar again, as it would also affect him.
Pearl followed the advice. She happened to be at this meal, and with Oscar by her side, she had to pay attention to the details. Therefore, she didn't hesitate and got into his Rolls-Royce.
Harold drove, but the atmosphere in the car was unusually tense.
Oscar had a cold face and said, "Even on your off days you run into an old classmate. Why don't you sit in your old classmate's car?"
Pearl found it strange to hear that, as if Oscar was jealous of something. She looked at Oscar and noticed that his face had turned cold, almost frosty, as he said, "Mr. Edwards is here. He knows that I am your secretary, so it would be strange if I didn't sit next to you."
"He also knows that you and Adrian are old classmates. It would also be strange if you didn't sit with Adrian!" Oscar replied.
Pearl pressed her lips together and realized that Oscar didn't like her, he was dissatisfied with her. So, she had no choice but to go back to the car door. "Then I'll sit in Adrian's car."
Oscar's expression immediately changed.
Fortunately, Harold acted quickly. He locked the car door and stepped on the gas, preventing Pearl from carrying out her actions.
Pearl couldn't get out of the car, so she stopped struggling.
Oscar was furious but couldn't vent his anger. He was in a restless mood.
He didn't understand why Pearl always managed to anger him lately.
She greatly affected his mood.
Pearl sat in the car, looking straight ahead, but her thoughts were still with Oscar.
It was her habit as a secretary.
However, things were different now. She had to pay attention to his every move and avoid unnecessary trouble.
After a while, Pearl finally asked with concern, "President Oscar, did you investigate that woman?"
Oscar's face turned cold as he replied bluntly, "I left that matter to you!"
He didn't personally investigate it.
He left it to her, which made her job easier. But did Oscar trust her?
Pearl became proactive and said, "I've already investigated that woman. In fact, I didn't go to the company today. I went to investigate that woman for you. Don't worry, as long as you give me time, I will find her. I will give you a satisfactory explanation!"
Her proactive attitude annoyed Oscar even more, as if she couldn't wait to get rid of him.
Pearl was not only his secretary but also his wife. Why was she so eager about this matter?
He became serious and asked dangerously, "Pearl, do you really want to help me find this woman?"
