Chapter 834 Making Ravioli

In a company as big as this, there were only two people who dressed like that.

Saskia figured the person outside the door wasn't Caleb.

She gave Marcus a small smile. "It's gotta be the CEO. I mean, I'm his secretary. Gotta back my boss, right?"

Marcus nodded, thinking it made sense to him.

Outside the door, Nathaniel raised an eyebrow and smiled before walking away.

When Saskia noticed the corner of the clothing at the door was gone, her smile grew. Making someone happy with a few words now and then wasn't a bad thing.

In no time, Benjamin had already been in kindergarten for over two weeks.

Saskia called Nora to check on how Benjamin was doing at school, and Nora couldn't stop praising him.

"Ms. Fuller, Benjamin is the easiest kid I've ever looked after. He's so well-behaved."

Saskia felt a wave of relief hearing Nora's detailed account.

Benjamin was even more well-behaved than she had imagined.

"Benjamin, I heard from your teacher today about what you did. You were amazing." She patted Benjamin's head.

He blushed, his ears turning red. "I remember what you told me, Mommy."

Saskia's heart melted.

Who wouldn't love a well-behaved and sensible child, especially when it was her son?

She waved her hand generously, indicating that Benjamin could have anything he wanted.

She thought Benjamin might ask for some delicious food or fun toys, but he blinked his eyes and looked at Saskia. "Can Mr. Egan come over so we can make ravioli together?"

"Make ravioli?" Saskia was puzzled as to why he would want that.

Benjamin explained that it was a school assignment to help parents bond.

"It's just that I've never met my dad, and I don't know where he is, so I thought Mr. Egan could take his place." Benjamin's innocent expression pierced Saskia's heart.

Although Benjamin didn't know who his father was yet, he had already regarded Nathaniel as his dad in his heart.

She knelt, her lips moving. "Benjamin..."

Saskia wanted to tell Benjamin that Nathaniel was his father, but the sudden ringing of the phone interrupted everything.

Saskia wiped her face and went to answer the phone. "Hello, Nathaniel? You're coming over tonight, right? Benjamin just told me he wants to make ravioli. Can you bring some ingredients?"

After hanging up the phone, she patted Benjamin's head again. "Alright, Mr. Egan will come over later."

Benjamin jumped up and down with joy.

Watching him run into the room, seemingly to get some candy, Saskia felt a pang of sadness in her heart.

When would she be able to tell him the truth?

Nathaniel arrived but didn't bring ready-made ravioli skins, only two bags of flour.

Saskia was stunned.

He looked so out of place carrying the flour inside.

"Why didn't you buy ravioli skins?" Saskia took the flour and weighed it in her hand, feeling a bit worried.

It wasn't impossible to make the skins from scratch, but ready-made ones would be easier. She was afraid they might fail with three people working together.

Nathaniel paused for a long time. "I didn't see any ravioli skins."

In reality, he didn't recognize them. Having grown up with a silver spoon, he couldn't tell the difference between ravioli skins and other types of dough.

He was afraid of buying the wrong thing, so he simply bought flour.

Saskia didn't know this and took it at face value, nodding and taking the flour inside. "Flour will do. Let's go with this."

Making the dough wasn't too difficult. Once the dough was ready, Saskia divided it into three portions, one for herself, one for Nathaniel, and a small portion for Benjamin. Benjamin's rolling pin was the smallest, too.

The three of them sat at the table, working hard to roll out the dough.

Benjamin used all his strength to roll the dough.

Saskia couldn't help but say, "Benjamin, you don't need to use so much force. Watch me and learn."

Her eyes were gentle as she patiently taught Benjamin, while Nathaniel watched intently from the side.

Eventually, Benjamin gradually mastered the technique. The rolled-out dough was cut, dusted with flour, and set aside for making ravioli later.

"This should be enough," Saskia said, standing up to stretch.

Nathaniel reached out.

She dodged but was pressed back down, "Don't move. You have flour on your face."

Saskia realized belatedly and stood still to let him wipe it off, but the more he wiped, the more flour there was.

Nathaniel looked at his hand in silence.

Saskia hadn't noticed yet and touched her face, "Why are you looking at me like that? Did you clean my face?"

"It should be clean," Nathaniel said, his gaze evasive.

Saskia suddenly had a bad feeling.

At that moment, Benjamin pointed at her face, his eyes wide, "Mommy, your face is covered in flour."

Saskia looked and felt a surge of anger. "Nathaniel, you said you were helping me clean, and this is how you do it?"

Then she grabbed some flour and unceremoniously smeared it on his face.

Nathaniel didn't dodge.

After a bit of playful fighting, Saskia stopped before the flour covered the entire living room.

But even so, Benjamin, Nathaniel, and she were all covered in flour.

So the three of them washed their faces together.

She had just finished wiping Benjamin's face when Nathaniel placed a warm towel on her face, gently helping her clean.

"I can do it myself."

"I'll help you."

Nathaniel pushed away Saskia's attempts to stop him, his movements gentle but firm.

Saskia had no choice but to let him.

The ravioli was cooked and served, steaming hot. Maybe because they had made it themselves, it tasted especially delicious.

Benjamin ate until he was almost full.

Worried about his digestion, Saskia decided to take a walk downstairs to help him digest.

"Mr. Egan should come too" Benjamin said, pulling Nathaniel along.

Saskia wanted to say that Nathaniel probably wouldn't go, but before she could, she saw Nathaniel's expression and realized he was willing. The words she wanted to say circled in her mouth, and she swallowed them back.

While walking, many people mistook them for a family of three.

Benjamin was happy at first, but gradually he became sullen.

"What's wrong, Benjamin?" Saskia was very attentive to her child's mood changes and immediately knelt to ask.

Benjamin looked at Nathaniel with tears in his eyes, "I really wish Mr. Egan were my dad, but I've never met my dad, and Mr. Egan isn't my dad."

That suffocating feeling hit her heart again.

Saskia wanted to tell him that Nathaniel was his dad, regardless of everything.

But she still retained a bit of rationality and looked at Nathaniel.

Nathaniel patted Benjamin's head to comfort him, "You can think of me as your dad."

"Really?" Benjamin's eyes lit up, and the tears that were about to fall were held back.

Seeing Benjamin happy again, Saskia's guilt lessened a bit.

Benjamin fell asleep quickly after returning home. Seeing Saskia sitting quietly in the living room, Nathaniel walked over, "It's not your fault. It's right not to tell him now. Benjamin still lacks a bit of recognition of me as his father."

Saskia nodded, "I know things are good as they are now."
