Chapter 459 It's Not Impossible
"Pearl's already here," Carol muttered, pinching her palm.
Pearl staying would be a disaster.
Kevin shot Carol a cold look. "I know what I'm doing. Stop reminding me. Go handle your own stuff."
"Yes," Carol replied, lowering her head and leaving.
Meanwhile, Oscar was plotting.
He couldn't attack openly. He'd infiltrated once but had to leave Pearl with the Eldorians.
He tried contacting Jeffery, but no response.
He called again. Still nothing.
There was something wrong with Jeffery being unreachable now.
Oscar told Nicholas, "Find this number's location."
Jeffery wouldn't ignore Pearl being in Eldorian territory.
Nicholas soon found Jeffery's address. "Mr. Brown, Jeffery's inside the Eldorians."
Jeffery had GPS tracking on.
Oscar sighed in relief.
If Jeffery met Louis, maybe he could get Pearl out.
Oscar needed to contact Louis and coordinate with Jeffery.
But Louis's phone was off.
He had to meet Louis in person.
This alerted RavenWing.
RavenWing confronted Louis. "What are you doing? Are you degrading yourself?"
He wanted Louis to lead the Eldorians, but Louis had no interest and became a teacher.
Now Louis was back with someone else's wife.
Even if Pearl looked like Francesca, she couldn't influence Louis and the Eldorians' future.
"Degrading myself? Haven't you found Carol?" Louis laughed.
He couldn't see RavenWing's face but sensed his bad mood.
RavenWing spoke low, "It's none of your business. Send Pearl away."
Louis was stunned.
Outsiders in Eldorian territory either became slaves or test subjects; almost no one left alive.
Adrian and Barbara were exceptions because Pearl found them first. Then there was Oscar, backed by Tranquiloria.
"Why spare Pearl?"
Louis stared at RavenWing.
With his mask on, RavenWing's expression was hidden.
RavenWing stood firm. "Do I need a reason? You'd die for Pearl."
Even if Pearl died, it wouldn't be in front of Louis.
Louis smirked. "Should I thank you for your mercy?"
RavenWing had always been strict with Louis, absorbed in his experiments, leaving little time for Louis. Their bond was weak.
They rarely talked, and it was the first time Louis used that tone.
RavenWing coldly asked, "Are you opposing me over Pearl?"
"I don't meddle in your affairs, so stay out of mine. If you have time to lecture, go find your loyal subordinates."
He had Kevin and Matteo with him.
As Louis turned to leave, RavenWing shouted, "Do you know Oscar is looking for you? In the name of Tranquiloria."
Louis paused.
He knew Oscar was searching for him but didn't expect him to go this far for Pearl.
RavenWing sensed his unease. "I don't want a war with Tranquiloria."
A war with Tranquiloria would be suicide.
Louis smirked. "Don't you love war and power?"
RavenWing's voice turned icy. "I don't want to get involved in a conflict between powerful nations."
Louis mocked, "Cowardice in the face of strength, preying on the weak—what have you and Kevin turned the Eldorians into?"
He walked away without waiting for a response.
RavenWing stayed silent.
The Eldorians were fragmented, but their power remained, and survival of the fittest was still the rule.
He needed a serious talk with Kevin.
After shaking off RavenWing, Louis found a secluded spot.
He stayed alone for a while and called Oscar when it got dark.
Oscar saw the international call and, suspecting it was Louis, answered immediately.
Louis's voice came through. "You know what I want. I haven't seen Jeffery, so don't talk about anything else."
"I called Jeffery, but he didn't say much. I tracked his GPS; he's inside the Eldorians."
Oscar's words left Louis silent.
Jeffery being in the Eldorians showed his concern for Pearl, but it was odd he hadn't found her yet.
'What is Jeffery planning?'
"I understand," Louis said, ending the call.
He waved, and Giovanni approached.
Louis coldly instructed, "Keep an eye on RavenWing and Kevin."
Jeffery was a key experimental subject who had once escaped, and Oscar's words were a reminder.
It was possible Jeffery had been captured.
Meanwhile, Chiara shared her thoughts with the slaves, and they immediately supported her. They had been forcibly brought here, subjected to endless experiments and torture. They preferred to fight rather than live a life worse than death. If they survived, they would be free.
If they failed, they wanted to inflict significant damage on the Eldorians or perish together.
Chiara conveyed everyone's opinions to Pearl, who quickly devised a plan.
Tomorrow, when the male and female slaves gathered, they would revolt and seize weapons. Tonight, she had to find a way to contact Oscar!
