Chapter 346 You Can Only Take One

Haley's face turned red from the slap, completely stunned.

"Think you can use Kevin against me? I could kill him right now!" Donald snapped. "If you want to live, shut up!"

Haley fell silent, completely obedient.

Pearl was nervous, her hands sweaty. She had a child to think about, so she couldn't act rashly.

"You're still alive," Donald sneered at Pearl. "Oscar must be working hard for you."

Pearl shot back, "Oscar? He dumped me. I could kill him myself!"

Donald laughed, glancing at Haley. "Looks like you have some tricks, just like Kevin."

Pearl continued, "Why kidnap me? Your grudge with Oscar has nothing to do with me."

Donald paced. "You are right. I know Oscar's with Haley now, but to be sure, I took both of you."

He wanted no mistakes. Pearl was Oscar's ex-wife, and Haley was his rumored girlfriend. Capturing both was strategic. Kevin had also plotted against him. He wouldn't let them go, even if it meant taking someone down with him.

"They're coming!" Barbara rushed in, tense, eyes on Donald. "We need to get ready!"

Pearl was stunned to see Barbara but looked away, not showing emotion. She didn't understand why Barbara was still here, but she knew Donald couldn't escape. If Barbara stayed, she was following him to her death.

Donald glared at Barbara and kicked her in the stomach. She flew back, got up, and knelt.

"Where's Jeffery? Have you both betrayed me, thinking you can get out of my hands?" Donald shouted.

Barbara replied seriously, "I'll follow you. As for Jeffery, I don't know. If you want me to kill him, I will."

Donald squinted, squatting down. "So, Jeffery's betrayed me?"

Barbara said, "I rarely contact him, but I heard him mention RavenWing."

This caught Donald's attention. RavenWing still needed Jeffery, which is why Donald wouldn't act, even if he knew Jeffery was trying to betray him. Jeffery was an experimental subject, the only one. If he died, RavenWing would notice. Barbara's life didn't matter, but he had to use her while he could.

"Take them away!" Donald ordered Barbara.

"Yes!" Barbara got up, ignoring her pain, and untied the ropes.

Pearl was surprised to see Barbara get kicked and then get up, noticing Donald's disdain. He didn't see them as human. Barbara was just a tool, likely to lose her life here. With Haley beside her, Pearl couldn't say much to Barbara.

Haley, trying to save herself, pleaded with Barbara, "Barbara, don't listen to Donald. Let me go, and Oscar will take care of them. You'll be free!"

"Shut up!" Barbara snapped. "My life belongs to Donald. I only serve him!"

"You're nuts!" Haley shot back. "He's a dead man walking, and you're just his loyal dog!"

"Shut her up!" Barbara ordered.

Someone stuffed a dirty rag into Haley's mouth. She gagged at the stench but couldn't break free.

Barbara looked at Pearl. Pearl stared back, sensing Barbara's intention to help her. Pearl shook her head, but Barbara smiled, trying to reassure her.

Pearl felt uneasy, knowing Barbara wanted to get the antidote for her. But was it really in Donald's hands? She didn't want Barbara to take the risk and grabbed her arm. Barbara pulled away.

Gunfire erupted outside, mixed with explosions and screams. Pearl, pale and scared, watched Donald and his men retreat inside.

Barbara said, "Donald, I've tied them up again."

Pearl and Haley were bound to pillars in the hall. Donald laughed, ready for death. "Never thought I'd see this day."

He sat, drinking tea, waiting for Oscar and his men. Within minutes, Pearl heard footsteps. A group of armed men entered, guns aimed.

Donald's men aimed back. Donald, holding leverage, was ready to make them pay.

Pearl saw the guns and smelled blood, feeling nauseous and scared. She searched for Oscar.

The special forces entered. She saw Elijah and Nicholas in camouflage, faces painted, guns ready. Then Oscar walked in, also in camouflage, looking different from him in suit.

Haley struggled excitedly, but no sound came out. Pearl just looked at Oscar.

Donald said, "Oscar, we meet again. That shot last time didn't kill you. Looks like you get to live a bit longer."

Oscar glared coldly. "Save it for prison."

Donald laughed, standing behind Pearl and Haley. "Want to take them both?"

Oscar, emotionless, asked, "What do you want?"

Donald held a syringe with blue liquid, smiling coldly. "I want to know which woman is more important to you. You can only take one. Who will it be?"

Haley's eyes filled with terror as she glanced at the syringe. She knew it was RavenWing's poison, worse than death.

"What do you mean I can only take one?" Oscar asked calmly.

Donald said, "You take one, and the other dies with me!"

Haley made muffled cries, desperately hoping Oscar would choose her.
