Chapter 916 Alarm Handling

Lyra stared at the messages, feeling nothing but disgust and revulsion.

Aaron's texts had become increasingly obsessive, filled with insane threats and unreasonable demands, even including threats to her safety.

No, she couldn't let the Hill family's harassment go unchecked any longer.

Taking a deep breath, she decisively dialed 911.

She explained to the police in detail the long-term harassment from the Hill family, including Aaron's terrifying messages and his perverse demands.

The police assured her they would launch an investigation immediately and provide her with the necessary protection.

With the police involved, Lyra felt a slight sense of relief.

The police acted swiftly, sirens cutting through the city's noise as several squad cars sped towards Aaron's residence.

The flashing red and blue lights reflected off the buildings, drawing the attention of passersby.

Using the detailed information Lyra provided, the officers quickly located Aaron.

As soon as Aaron appeared, his previously arrogant demeanor diminished upon seeing the stern faces and authoritative uniforms of the police, though he tried to maintain his composure.

An officer stepped forward, showing his badge, his voice stern. "Aaron, you're under suspicion of harassment. Come with us to the station for questioning."

Aaron attempted to resist, waving his arms and shouting, "What right do you have to arrest me? I haven't done anything!"

But the officers, well-trained, swiftly subdued him and took him to the station.

Elowen, upon hearing her son had been taken away, rushed to the station in a panic, stumbling along the way.

Her hair was disheveled, her eyes filled with fear and anxiety.

As soon as she saw the police, she began shouting hoarsely, "Officer, you've got it wrong! My son has a mental illness; he didn't mean it!"

The officer looked at her calmly and asked, "You say he has a mental illness. Please provide the relevant medical documentation."

Elowen's eyes began to dart around, and she stammered, "The... the proof, I... I left it at home. I can't get it right now."

Aaron, who had been trying to keep it together at the station, perked up when he heard Elowen mention his mental illness.

His eyes flickered, and then he suddenly erupted, causing a scene in the station.

He violently threw chairs and tables, the loud crashes echoing as office supplies scattered everywhere.

He continued to babble incoherently, looking quite terrifying.

The officers tried to stop his rampage, dodging his flailing arms while shouting warnings.

"Aaron, calm down, or we'll have to restrain you!"

But Aaron didn't listen, continuing his wild behavior, throwing the station into chaos.

Though the officers were well-trained, dealing with such a frenzied and irrational Aaron proved challenging.

A seasoned officer frowned, quickly drawing his baton and shouting to his colleagues.

"Be careful, don't hurt him, but we can't let this go on. Find an opportunity to restrain him!"

Seeing the baton, Aaron didn't back down; instead, he charged at the officer, shouting, "Come on, you bastards, see what I can do to you!"

The officer sidestepped, skillfully avoiding Aaron's charge, then lightly tapped his leg with the baton, causing Aaron to stumble and fall.

However, Aaron quickly got up, grabbed a trash can, and hurled it at the officers.

The trash can flew through the air, its contents spilling out, filling the air with a pungent odor.

At this point, several younger officers flanked Aaron, trying to grab his arms.

Aaron thrashed wildly, his strength surprisingly great, breaking free from one officer's grip and elbowing another in the stomach.

The officer grunted, stepping back but still holding his ground.

In the station's lobby, onlookers cowered in the corners, some even screaming.

Elowen, on the side, was stomping her feet in anxiety.

Her shouts were drowned out by Aaron's commotion.

"Aaron, stop it, calm down!"

But Aaron, lost in his "performance," couldn't hear Elowen at all.

As the situation spiraled out of control, the police chief arrived on the scene.

Tall and imposing, his eyes radiated authority and decisiveness.

He surveyed the chaotic scene, took a deep breath, and shouted, "Everyone, stop!"

Aaron, startled by the sudden shout, hesitated for a moment.

Seizing the opportunity, the chief lunged forward, swiftly grabbing Aaron's wrist, twisting his arm behind his back.

With his other hand, he firmly pressed Aaron's neck, pinning him to the ground.

Aaron continued to struggle, but it was futile.

Breathing heavily, Aaron muttered incoherently, but his resistance had lost its intensity.

The officers sighed in relief and began tidying up the disrupted station.

Elowen, seeing this, hurriedly explained to the police, tearfully pleading, "Officer, you have to help my son! He's like this because our family has suffered so much."

"Ever since Lyra joined our family, we've had no peace. She caused the death of my poor daughter Flora, our precious girl, just gone."

"And then my son Aaron ended up disabled because of her. The impact on our family was too much. It gave him psychological trauma, and his mental health deteriorated, but we can't afford proper treatment."

"We, the old couple, have worked hard all our lives. How did we end up with so many troubles?"

The officer calmly recorded Elowen's statement.

After she finished, the officer looked up, "Mrs. Hill, please calm down. We will thoroughly investigate the situation you described."

"But based on the harassment evidence provided by Lyra, Aaron's actions are already illegal. That's a fact."

Elowen, hearing this, became even more agitated, moving closer to the officer.

"What I'm saying is true! Lyra is a devil; she ruined our family, and now she wants to take Aaron away. You can't do this."

The officer frowned slightly, stepping back to maintain a proper distance from Elowen.

"Mrs. Hill, everyone is equal before the law. We can't judge right or wrong based solely on your words. We need your cooperation with our investigation."
