Chapter 110 I Don't Believe Her

Oscar swiftly grabbed the phone and located the person's location on the screen.

Unaware of being watched, the other person attempted to evade surveillance, changed clothes in a blind spot, and then left. It took some time to track him down. But they found him after all.

"Let's go now!" They immediately got into the car and followed the trail to find him.

Pearl felt very exhausted and weak. Although she was resting, she seemed trapped in a dilemma and couldn't wake up.

She heard a voice in a daze. "What should we do now?"

"The person is tied up. We must deal with her now!" a woman's voice said.

"Settled? Do you want me to be responsible for my life? She's my niece, no way, I just want the money!" Arthur hesitated a bit, he never intended harm toward Pearl. "Call Oscar, if he wants his wife back, he better bring the cash!"

"No way. Are you crazy?" Seeing Arthur reaching for the phone, the woman stopped him in panic. "If Oscar finds out, we won't survive. If you don't deal with Pearl, we'll be in trouble!"

Arthur sensed that the woman in front of him was behaving oddly and speaking inconsistently, and his expression turned sour. "We agreed to solve my problem. Do you have another agenda?"

The woman looked at Pearl lying on the ground. She couldn't feel at ease without dealing with her. "We have a common enemy. Look at how Pearl treats you. She doesn't care about your life. If you don't get rid of her, you'll suffer a lot!"

The woman kept trying to persuade Arthur. Arthur hesitated, but after what she said, it made sense. Pearl had shown no concern for his well-being. Why should he care about her? But Pearl was a child he had watched grow up.

"Think about the money you owe and your detained wife. Isn't it all because of her?" The woman continued to manipulate him. "If you let her go today, she will know it was you. Once she's out, she'll definitely call the police. Forget about the money, and you'll end up in jail! You have a daughter. She's facing a lot of criticism online now. How will she survive in the future? Isn't it all because of her?"

Arthur looked at the unconscious Pearl, his hands clenched into fists, his face growing colder.

He was a prisoner who couldn't turn back now. Death was inevitable. Things had reached a point of no return.

Arthur calmed down and no longer looked at Pearl. He said indifferently, "Wake her up first and see if we can get any information from her."

He searched her bag and found not only a few thousand dollars in cash but also a card. This card surely had money on it.

The woman was getting anxious and didn't want Pearl to wake up. "What else do you want?"

"Money. She has money. She'll tell me where it is to save her life!" Arthur only wanted the money.

The woman asked again, "And then?"

"Once they haven't found me, I'll take the money and run."

"Where can you run to? They won't let you go."

"I'll get the money first." Arthur's eyes were fixed on the money. As long as he had the money, there was nothing he couldn't do. You must get something when you're at the end of the road.

Pearl, still unconscious, appeared distressed, furrowing her brow. She made a concerted effort to regain consciousness. She had to wake up to survive. Suddenly, Pearl opened her eyes, pupils shrinking, breathing heavily.

Seeing that she was awake, the woman's face changed drastically, and she quickly hid.

"I have money. Don't hurt me!" Pearl was sweating profusely, feeling drenched all over. She spoke immediately. She had to save her own life first.

Her eyes met Arthur's, and she saw the messy room she was in, her hands bound. Looking at the people in front of her, her face turned pale. "Arthur."

Arthur looked at her coldly and said, "Now you're calling me Arthur?"

Pearl didn't expect Arthur to be so ruthless as to kidnap her without any regard for their relationship. She didn't expect Arthur to show any mercy now. She asked, "What do you want to do to let me go?"

"You mentioned money just now." Arthur asked, "Is there money on this card?"

The card in Arthur's hand was the one Oscar had given her.

"Yes, there is money."

A smile appeared on Arthur's face again, greed in his eyes. "How much?"

Pearl asked, "If I give it to you, will you let me go?"

He was about to speak when another voice interrupted, "No way!"

There were others present. Pearl looked in the direction of the voice but didn't see anyone. The person was hiding in the shadows.

"You can't let her go. If you do, you'll end up in jail!" Pearl couldn't identify the voice. She deliberately didn't use her voice, as it was likely someone she knew.

"Arthur, you have other guests here." Arthur said, "If you had listened, we wouldn't be in this situation."

"What's the password?" he asked.

Pearl looked at the card in his hand. "How can I be sure I'll survive if I tell you the password?"

"Your friend wants my life, right?"

This person's reaction was so intense. She had used Arthur's greed to kidnap her. One sought money. The other sought life.

Money was a tangible concern, but Pearl prioritized her safety.

"It's impossible. As long as you tell me the password, I'll let you go." Arthur urgently wanted to know. "Tell me the password quickly."

Pearl hesitated, "Then untie my hands and feet."

"Do you want to run?" Arthur's face changed drastically.

Pearl said, "I can't run like this with you watching. But I need to be sure that once you have the money, I can escape."

Pearl was ultimately a woman. Arthur wasn't concerned about her fleeing but cautioned, "You better not play tricks."

He untied Pearl's restraints. Her hands were marked with bruises. She flexed her muscles and stood up but kept her eyes on the woman's position.

"Now you can talk!" Arthur said.

Pearl looked at Arthur. "Arthur, you said if I told you the password, you would let me go without harming me, right?"

"I only want the money. If I weren't in trouble, I wouldn't treat you like this."

"I don't believe her!" Pearl said again, "Both you and Olivia are easily swayed. Do you know everything you're doing now leads you to a dead end? You're being used as a tool."

"Don't listen to her nonsense. I'm doing this for your good!" the woman said again.

"Who are you? What's your relationship with them? In the end, Olivia will be detained, her reputation tarnished, and Arthur will end up in jail for kidnapping. Is that good?" Pearl looked at Arthur. "Arthur, you need to think clearly. She wants my life, and you want money. I can give you money, but you can't be someone else's tool, doing things that harm me!"
