Chapter 697 Sending to Kindergarten
Of course, Liam had his own selfish reasons.
If Desiree moved out, how could they set her up with Daryl?
"Dad, I can come home every day, or have a nutritionist come to my place to take care of my meals. Please agree, let me have a break." After a lot of begging from Desiree, Liam finally caved.
That night, Desiree barely slept.
The bed was comfy, but her mind was racing with worries.
The next morning, Oscar and Pearl made breakfast together, and they didn't forget to make some for Desiree.
"Pearl, I was thinking this morning, there's no way Harold could be cheating. With everything going on, there must be a big misunderstanding," Oscar said just as Pearl was about to serve breakfast.
Pearl actually thought the same thing.
Their relationship was so good, and they hadn't been married long. It would be such a shame if they split up.
But she couldn't say that to Desiree, "Desiree just lost her child. She's really fragile right now. As a woman, I get it, so I can't say anything to her."
"How about I go ask Harold what happened and what the misunderstanding is, so we can help," Oscar suggested.
"Forget it, don't call him yet." Pearl thought it over.
Anyway, she had to take Christopher to preschool tomorrow, and on the way back, she could go with Desiree to the courthouse.
When she saw Harold, she could ask him directly. It's always better to talk face-to-face than over the phone.
"I also want to see what that woman named Isolde looks like, to do something as shameless as being a homewrecker," Pearl frowned slightly at the thought.
No normal person would like a woman who willingly became a homewrecker, and she was no exception.
Oscar was on the same page. "Got it, I'll listen to you. Don't worry, there will always be only you by my side, no other women."
His heart was small, only for Pearl and the kids, who filled every corner of his heart.
No matter how beautiful or gentle other women were, they meant nothing to him.
Pearl smiled. "We've been married for so long, how could I not trust you? Alright, let's get the breakfast out before it gets cold."
"Before that, I have something to do." Oscar's expression was serious.
Pearl thought he really had something important to do.
But to her surprise, he bent down and planted a kiss on her forehead, "Honey, I really love you."
From outside the kitchen, Christopher's voice suddenly came. "Mom, Dad, when will breakfast be ready? My tummy is growling."
Pearl was startled and quickly pushed Oscar away.
She glared at him and whispered, "Christopher is still outside, be serious. Don't think that just because he's young, kids these days mature early. We can't let him see this."
"Everything you say is right." Oscar smiled and wiped his lips, his gaze lingering on Pearl's lips.
After being together for so long, he loved Pearl more and more, really wanting to be with her all the time.
"You're such a sweet talker." Pearl glared at him playfully, then picked up the tray and opened the kitchen door. She set the breakfast on the table and called out to Christopher, "Breakfast is ready. Go wash your hands, and then you can come eat."
"Mom, I've already washed my hands." Christopher raised his hands to show her, "I did it just like the teacher taught us. They're super clean."
"Christopher, you're amazing." Pearl lifted him onto a chair and sat down to peel an egg for him.
Oscar wasn't just sitting around either.
He poured milk and also poured a glass for Desiree.
"Thank you, Mr. Brown," Desiree quickly said.
Oscar didn't bring up Harold, "You're welcome, let's eat first."
During the meal, Desiree was quiet the whole time.
She watched the family of three in front of her, listening to their laughter, and her eyes were filled with envy.
Once upon a time, her relationship with Harold was just as good. They had endless things to talk about, especially after she got pregnant, their relationship reached its peak.
If it weren't for his mother's interference, after the baby was born, their family of three would have been just as warm.
But there's no 'if' in this world. What happened had happened, the damage was done, and they could only end up with a broken relationship.
This morning, Oscar didn't need to go to the company, so he stayed home to play with Christopher and Pearl.
Desiree volunteered to help them hold Emily.
She looked at Emily in her arms, then at the others playing in the living room, and suddenly felt like she was an outsider peeking into someone else's happy life.
When Emily got sleepy, Desiree lulled her to sleep, then put her in the cradle and quietly returned to her guest room.
She stayed in the guest room all afternoon, only coming out for dinner.
When Pearl asked, Desiree made up an excuse. "I haven't slept well these past few days, I'm really tired, so I took a nap."
After dinner, she went back to the guest room to be alone again, and didn't go to sleep until midnight. When the alarm clock rang, she realized it was already morning and that she just slept for a few hours.
Desiree quickly got up, changed clothes, and went with Pearl to take Christopher to preschool.
The preschool wasn't far, and they arrived quickly.
As soon as they parked, they saw a child at the preschool gate crying his heart out, "I want to go home, I want my mom and dad, I don't want to come to this stupid place!"
The security guard tried to carry the child into the school, but the child was crying too hard and resisting. And they were afraid of being too rough and hurting the child.
If the child got hurt in the preschool, the parents would definitely come to make trouble.
Seeing the child crying more and more sadly, even trying to run to his parents, Christopher, with his little backpack, ran up to him and held out his hand. "There's fun stuff and yummy food in preschool, and lots of friends. Do you know what hide and seek is?"
The boy's crying quieted a bit. He looked at Christopher and shook his head. "I don't know."
"Then do you know what bubble gum is?" Christopher continued.
