Chapter 305 I Don't Owe You Anymore

"Yes!" Oscar said without a second thought.

He wanted Pearl to survive more than anything, even if it meant sacrificing himself.

"If that's true, why are you doing this? You proposed to her, gave her everything. What about me?" Haley was almost hysterical.

She couldn't stand it.

'Why did Oscar end up with Pearl? He should be with me.'

She was supposed to marry Oscar, enjoy that proposal.

Oscar glanced at Pearl, who was smiling happily. This was the side of her he loved most.

He longed to see Pearl smile.

This time, she was genuinely smiling for him.

In the past, she was always cold and indifferent, like their marriage meant nothing.

He just wanted to see Pearl happy because of their marriage.

This time, his wish came true.

Seeing Pearl's sincere smile made him content.

He turned back, serious, gripping his phone tightly. "I won't go back on my word."

With tears in her eyes, Haley demanded, "I want a wedding a hundred times grander than this proposal!"

"Okay," Oscar agreed without hesitation.

"As long as you give me the antidote, I'll do whatever you want." It's the only thing he asks of Haley, to give him the antidote and keep Pearl alive.

Haley didn't feel happy, since he was willing to go this far for Pearl. "Fine!" She wiped her tears, regaining composure, and lied to cover up. "I'll forgive you this time. I know you don't have much time left with her, that's why you're treating her so well. Three years of marriage is ending, I can be generous and not hold it against you, but you have to make it up to me in the future!"

It was just a proposal, nothing more.

Haley comforted herself, knowing she would get much more than Pearl in the future.

She could have Oscar for a lifetime!

Oscar furrowed his brows, gazing at the sky, and took a deep breath. "When will you give me the antidote?" he asked seriously.

Haley replied, "She won't die for now. After we get married, I'll fulfill my promise."

"When do you want to get married?" Oscar asked coldly, "Can it be soon?"

Haley laughed, "Are you that eager?"

"This way, Pearl will suffer less."

Oscar was still worried. Even with the cross bracelet, the poison was still in Pearl's body.

She would still notice something wrong.

He didn't know how long Pearl could hold on, or if it would affect her child.

The poison needed to be dealt with ASAP.

He was desperate to protect Pearl.

Haley clenched her fists, her emotions unstable again. "Pearl, it's always about Pearl. When have you ever talked about me!"

"Haley," Oscar said.

Haley had a glimmer of hope, anticipating his next words.

"I don't owe you anything anymore," Oscar said coldly.

Haley bit her lip but said nothing. Oscar had always been accommodating, as if he owed her, so Haley could demand more from him.

But today, he said he didn't owe her anymore?

'How could that be?'

"How can you say you don't owe me?" Haley snapped. "You think setting up an entertainment company for me clears your debt? I can get the chance anyway, from you or anyone else. I almost sacrificed my life for you! I didn't care about my own safety. How can you say that?"

Haley was confusing both Oscar and herself.

She believed she had given everything for Oscar, never scheming against anyone.

But from the moment she poisoned Pearl, her treachery was clear to Oscar.

Oscar's face was stern, not just because Haley threatened Pearl, but also because of her hidden identity. His eyes turned cold. "You nearly sacrificed yourself for me? I used to believe you, but now I see it clearly. You saved me for your own sake. You wanted to distance yourself from The Crimson Eclipse Society!"

Haley's pupils contracted, and she stayed silent for a long time.

'He knew.'

Her expression was panicked.

This was something she didn't want to admit!

Who would want to be associated with them?

She was forced into it.

She was born into such a family; how could she choose her fate!

Haley's emotions were in turmoil. But then she thought, how could she be wrong?

'I wasn't wrong!'

A cold sneer appeared on her lips. "Don't you know why I ended up like this? Who would want to be with them! Do you know how I grew up? If it weren't for Hathaway abandoning me, how could I have done those things! I was bearing all this for you! Don't think you're so clean; my suffering was all because of you!"

She had no choice.

She could have been born into the Brown family, but what did she get in the end?

Alfonso didn't acknowledge her as his daughter!

Hathaway didn't want her either!

If she could, she wished she had never been born!

Haley's birth was entangled with the grudges of the previous generation.

Oscar knew this well, furrowing his brows tightly, no longer pursuing who was at fault. "You can hate me, but I don't owe you anymore!"

In the end, he didn't owe her.

After knowing the whole truth, Oscar had tried his best to make it up to her.

He had compensated her in every way he could.

Hearing this, Haley still shed tears, feeling heartache, helplessness, and resentment.

She had too much resentment in her heart. She knew Hathaway was her mother, and Alfonso was her father.

Her mother abandoned her since she was a child.

Her father still despised her.

How could she not hate them?

From the moment she approached Oscar, she wanted to take back everything that belonged to her.

She saved Oscar from a bomb attack, almost losing her hearing, and her voice was affected too.

This was the beginning of Oscar's guilt.

It was also the start of her new life after leaving the organization.

But despite it all, she found herself falling for Oscar.

For Oscar, she tried to please and flatter Hathaway, whom she hated so much, but what did she get?

Hathaway was of no use at all!

She hated everyone who stood in her way.

She would eliminate everyone in her way and climb to the top step by step.

A cold glint of ambition shone in Haley's eyes. She felt that success was just within her grasp.
