Chapter 752 Looking Forward to the Evening Show

Saskia's hands were shaking like crazy.

Nathaniel probably thought she blew through the fifty million dollars, but the truth was, she hadn't seen a dime of it.

Even Benjamin's medical bills were covered with money she earned herself.

Of course, Nathaniel wouldn't buy that. He said, "Cut the crap. I'm not some random guy you can fool with a sob story. Don't forget what I do for a living."

As a lawyer, he'd seen it all, and some clients wouldn't tell the truth even to their own lawyer.

So, he'd gotten pretty good at spotting lies.

But even he didn't realize that while he stayed cool with his clients, his emotions took over when it came to Saskia.

When emotions took the wheel, rationality naturally took a back seat.

"If you don't believe me, why ask? No matter what I say, you think I'm lying. What's the point?" Saskia was about to lose it.

Her life had been a nightmare these past years.

With Benjamin's illness, she was the one suffering the most, on top of all the financial stress.

Now, she had to think about Azalea, and Nathaniel was still on her case.

For a moment, Saskia really wanted to jump off the balcony.

But then she thought of Benjamin in the hospital and pushed the idea away. If she died, who would really take care of Benjamin?

Nathaniel's eyes were blazing with anger at her words. "Saskia, is this how you talk to me?"

He shoved Saskia against the railing and reached to lift her skirt. He said, "Since you won't explain, then don't say anything at all; anyway, none of what you've said is anything I want to hear."

"No!" Saskia tried to fight back.

But the next second, a sharp sound echoed—Nathaniel had spanked her. She was both humiliated and furious. "Let go of me."

"Didn't you just say it doesn't matter what you say? So what are you hoping for now?" Nathaniel said, but his hands didn't stop.

Saskia's tears fell like broken pearls, hitting the ground and Nathaniel's heart.

His actions unconsciously softened.

He had told himself over and over that Saskia was a liar, and after four years, her deceit had only gotten better. Now she was even dragging Azalea into it.

If Azalea's boyfriend were anyone else, they'd probably be scared off by Saskia.

But seeing Saskia's tears, Nathaniel couldn't help himself.

"George, I just remembered, you bought me a diamond ring before. Since neither of us wants to wear it, why don't we sell it?" Azalea's voice came from upstairs.

Every word felt like a knife twisting in Saskia's heart.

Azalea was willing to sell her diamond ring just to raise money for Benjamin's treatment.

But here Saskia was, tangled up with Nathaniel downstairs.

She felt utterly worthless.

"Sure, do whatever you want with it," Nathaniel said indifferently.

Their marriage was just a charade anyway.

Without love, what was the point of a symbol of love like a diamond ring?

Every time he saw a diamond, he thought of Saskia, their past love, and how foolish he had been.Hearing this, Azalea lit up. "Thank you!"

Nathaniel didn't respond but leaned close to Saskia's ear. "When I took Azalea to buy wedding jewelry, she wanted the cheapest gold and second-hand diamonds. I wondered why she was so frugal; turns out it was to save money for you."

Second-hand diamonds!

Saskia's tears flowed even more.

At that moment, she didn't know what to say. She thought, 'Azalea, you're so good but so foolish!'

Nathaniel could feel her body trembling.

He kept bringing up Azalea. "Honestly, I want to ask you, how do you brainwash Azalea? You two may share the same last name, Fuller, but your personalities are worlds apart. Sometimes she's so naive that I can't bear to do anything to her."

In fact, he hadn't done anything to Azalea, not even any intimate gestures.

But Saskia didn't know that.

After what felt like forever, Nathaniel finally let her go, looking satisfied.

He straightened his clothes. "Azalea left a room for you next to ours. Clean yourself up tonight; I'll come find you."

Saskia's eyes widened in shock.

No matter how good the soundproofing was, a wall was still just a wall.

Azalea was a light sleeper; even a cat meowing outside could wake her.

What if she found out?

"Nathaniel, you're insane." Saskia looked up, disheveled, and cursed him.

Hearing this, Nathaniel paused for a moment, then left without a word.

He was indeed crazy. Otherwise, he would have moved on from Saskia and started a new life.

Plenty of women wanted to be with him, but he couldn't get past his feelings for her.

Nathaniel went upstairs, took a shower in the study, and then returned to the bedroom, drying his hair.

Azalea came over to help him dry his hair and asked, "George, are you really okay with me selling the ring?"

She always felt George was too good to be true.

Ultimately, the money belonged entirely to George, a product of his own hard work.

Nathaniel replied, "I don't mind. Saskia will be staying in the room next to ours. I've already prepared the bedding for her. Just change it when she arrives."

Nathaniel took the hairdryer from her, as he preferred to dry his own hair.

Azalea had thought of letting Saskia stay in the guest room, worried that being too close might bother him.

Everyone valued their privacy, after all.

But she hadn't expected him to suggest it himself. Thinking of this, she said, "You must have a good impression of my sister."

"Having her closer will make you happier." Nathaniel chuckled.

And it would make him happier too.

It wasn't bedtime yet, but he was already looking forward to the night's entertainment.

Just thinking about Saskia like that had him eagerly anticipating what was to come.

After drying his hair, Nathaniel didn't chat much with Azalea and went straight to the study to work. Azalea, with nothing else to do, went downstairs to find Saskia. "Saskia, let me help you set up your room so you can go straight to sleep later."
