Chapter 473 The Final Value

Pearl had never seen RavenWing without his mask, but now he stood next to Louis, staring intently at her.

Avoiding his gaze, Pearl said calmly, "I'm not going back to the Eldorians." She had no plans to return or acknowledge RavenWing, feeling cold and distant.

Oscar put his arm around Pearl's shoulder. His determined look said it all—he'd stick by her no matter what.

Before Louis could speak, RavenWing approached Pearl. "Carol," he said hoarsely.

Pearl waved him off. "My name is Pearl."

His voice made her uneasy, like a heavy weight on her heart.

RavenWing had imagined many scenarios for their reunion, including Pearl's indifference.

Seeing her like this hurt him. He thought of material compensation.

With a wave, Davide brought in a chest of jewels and gold, along with a bank card.

When Pearl didn't take it, Louis walked over to her. "This is from father. Take it."

He always felt Pearl was his sister. Now, knowing she was Carol, he wanted to get closer. He reached out but pulled back when he saw her cold, unfamiliar look.

"My father's name is Evans," Pearl said sternly.

She refused to acknowledge RavenWing or Louis. The Eldorians' atrocities were still shocking to her. She couldn't accept that her biological father was RavenWing.

RavenWing stayed silent, feeling a sharp pain. Carol had been separated from him since she was young, but they used to get along well. She was kind-hearted, and he had shielded her from many things. If she asked him to release someone, he would.

When Kevin brought Haley over, RavenWing thought she was Carol. He wanted to make amends but realized he had been attempting to do so with the wrong individual.. His eyes dimmed, and he didn't know where to start.

Just as Oscar was about to speak, Pearl interrupted, "I came here to make it clear that my name is Pearl, and I have nothing to do with the Eldorians."

She pushed Oscar away and turned to leave. She knew Louis and RavenWing were here for more than just her. RavenWing watched her leave, feeling anxious. He wanted to follow but was blocked by Oscar.

Oscar's expression was cold. "She's made her stance clear. If there's nothing else, please leave."

He and RavenWing were on opposite sides. But because Louis was reorganizing the Eldorians and RavenWing was Pearl's biological father, he allowed them to come. And then there was Kevin.

Standing by Pearl's side, Oscar wouldn't let anyone bully or harm her. "Wait. The Eldorians are being reorganized, and Kevin has allied with the opposition. I think we can cooperate," Louis said, looking directly at Oscar.

Kevin not only disrupted the Eldorians but also strained his relationship with Pearl. As long as Kevin is around, Louis can't relax. He wanted to ally with Oscar, but Oscar wasn't interested.

Before Oscar could respond, Louis said, "We want to stay here for a while."

Oscar knew they wanted to win over Pearl. Before he could reply, Louis gave him a meaningful look and walked outside. Oscar followed, signaling his subordinate to entertain RavenWing.

Outside the tent, Louis said, "RavenWing was misled by Kevin. He really loves Carol. Pearl is close to you. Can you mediate?"

Louis looked at Oscar with hope. Oscar remembered how Louis had helped him and Pearl escape the Eldorians. But he couldn't make decisions for Pearl, especially after she blamed him once before. He didn't want to hurt her again, especially with the poison still in his body.

Oscar said softly, "Pearl's stance is clear. I can't help you. If you want to stay or do something, that's your business."

Pearl's attitude was clear, but Louis and RavenWing were her family. He couldn't just drive them away.

Louis understood Oscar's neutrality. As long as they could stay, there was hope. He didn't press further and said, "The opposition wants to take over the Eldorians. They'll send troops. But RavenWing has realized his mistakes, and Kevin is no longer with the Eldorians. If they attack, I hope you can help."

Oscar was there for peacekeeping and dealing with the poison. Kevin, now with the opposition, wanted to destroy the Eldorians, which was impossible.

"I won't let Kevin do that. I'll consult with my superiors," Oscar said confidently.

"I understand," Louis replied, saying no more.

Meanwhile, RavenWing met Jeffery.

Jeffery didn't panic or avoid him. Instead, he walked up to him.

"RavenWing," Jeffery greeted him.

Jeffery had heard about how he and Pearl had escaped from the Eldorians and how he had helped cure Pearl's poisoning.

RavenWing approached Jeffery and, surprisingly, bowed his head. "Thank you. Pearl's safety owes much to you."

Jeffery was shocked. He hadn't expected the proud RavenWing to bow in thanks. But if RavenWing could do this for Pearl, what couldn't he do?

"RavenWing, protecting Carol is my duty. I'm just fulfilling my role."
