Chapter 491 Make Her Back Down
Pearl just gave Louis a knowing smile without saying a word.
Even though they kept moving, Louis and Giovanni stayed on high alert after that incident, and Pearl didn't forget it either.
They had no idea a team was secretly tailing them to ensure they got back to Eldorians safely.
RavenWing, knowing Pearl was returning, went all out to prepare a fancy room for her.
As soon as Pearl saw it, she stepped right out.
"Give me a simpler room."
She didn't see RavenWing, but she knew it was his doing.
RavenWing was trying to make up for things, but no fancy room could fix the rift between them. Memories of almost getting killed in Eldorians came rushing back.
She also remembered their cruel ways, like Oscar getting poisoned and eventually dying.
She knew RavenWing and Oscar never got along. For the past five years, she'd been secretly investigating if RavenWing had anything to do with Oscar's death.
"Fine." Pearl's stubbornness left Louis speechless.
Soon, Pearl was moved to another room.
Louis had other stuff to handle, and Giovanni, after giving Pearl some essentials, also left.
Now it was just Pearl and Christopher in the room.
In the new place, Christopher didn't cry or fuss, just quietly stayed by her side.
One had to admit, Christopher adapted well to new places.
"Get out!" Just as Pearl was about to say something to Christopher, she heard Jimena Rios's voice getting louder as she approached.
Pearl instinctively looked over and saw Jimena, in her early twenties, standing there arrogantly.
Pearl showed no expression.
She had no intention of arguing, but before she could explain, Jimena snapped again, "Do you want me to personally throw you out?"
Seeing Pearl still hadn't moved, Jimena got even angrier.
This was the room Jimena wanted, and now Pearl was in it before she even had a chance to move in. And Pearl was someone Louis had brought along.
For the past five years, there had been no women around Louis. Now, Pearl showed up with a kid. It was clear to Jimena that Pearl had used some shady means to seduce Louis.
Otherwise, Louis, who was always upright, wouldn't have made such a mistake!
Thinking of this, Jimena got even angrier.
She had to show Pearl who was boss and make her realize Eldorians wasn't a place she could just waltz into.
She was determined to make Pearl back down!
Over the past five years, Pearl had faced a lot. She knew she couldn't let things get to her, couldn't let herself be influenced, and definitely couldn't let herself be bullied!
A cold smile appeared on Pearl's lips. "Then I'd like to see how you plan to throw me out."
To Jimena, Pearl's smile looked smug.
Jimena's anger flared. She strode up to Pearl and reached out, but Pearl grabbed her hand first and shoved her back.
Caught off guard, Jimena stumbled and fell.
Jimena squinted, surprised Pearl could stand up for herself.
But she wasn't backing down. "Don't forget where you are. You have no status here! Just because you hooked up with Mr. Mitchell doesn't mean you can be arrogant! The power in Eldorians will go to Ms. Mitchell, thanks to RavenWing and Mr. Mitchell. You and your illegitimate child should leave before you embarrass yourselves!"
Jimena roared, eyes blazing.
She lunged at Pearl again, but Pearl, no longer the same person from five years ago, subdued her.
Before Pearl could speak, Giovanni arrived with items from Louis. "Ms. Mitchell, these are the clothes Mr. Mitchell asked me to deliver."
Jimena's eyes widened. "You're Ms. Mitchell?"
She thought Pearl was just some woman seducing Louis. She never expected her to be Carol!
'Wasn't Carol single? How could she have such a big child?'
"Get out!" Giovanni scolded. As Pearl released Jimena, Jimena knelt before Pearl.
Giovanni angrily said, "Apologize to Ms. Mitchell immediately!"
"Ms. Mitchell, I'm sorry. I offended you. I apologize."
Jimena seemed genuinely anxious, kowtowing to Pearl.
Pearl's expression stayed indifferent. "Your apology doesn't seem sincere."
"Ms. Mitchell, what do I need to do to make you believe I'm sincere?" Jimena, still kneeling, didn't dare get up.
If she had been arrogant before, she now truly realized her mistake. She had intended to drive away the woman seducing Louis. Now, she genuinely regretted it!
Giovanni coldly watched. Bringing Pearl back was already a huge surprise. How dare she offend Pearl.
Pearl's lips curled into a sneer. "If you were truly sincere, you'd know what to do. With your arrogance, what is your status in Eldorians? Or are you Louis's fiancée?"
Pearl squinted, her gaze on Jimena.
Jimena's breath caught.
She opened her mouth but couldn't speak.
Giovanni's sharp gaze swept over her.
She lowered her head and said, "I'm not Mr. Mitchell's fiancée. I'm just a steward, with a status lower than Giovanni's. It was my delusion, thinking I had some status, trying to drive away women who seduced Mr. Mitchell. That way, I could live with—"
"Shut up!"
Before Jimena could finish, Louis's angry voice boomed from afar.
