Chapter 799 Returned

The car zoomed off into the distance.

The guy in the mask slammed the car door shut, cursing under his breath. Suddenly, he glanced up and saw Azalea's reflection in the rearview mirror.

"You did that on purpose, didn't you?" he snapped.

Azalea stayed quiet.

"If this doesn't work out, we're both dead," the masked man growled.

Azalea replied calmly, "He's my nephew, and he's not in good health. Bringing him along would do more harm than good."

The masked man sneered, "You really plan to live like this forever?"

"Got any bright ideas? I've already burned all my bridges with him," Azalea said, a flicker of hope in her eyes.

The masked man fell silent.

"We'll figure it out later," he muttered.

Azalea nodded, but she couldn't ignore the sharp pain in her abdomen. She clutched her stomach, trying to endure it.

The masked man noticed and asked, "What's up with you?"

Before she could respond, Azalea's vision blurred, and she passed out. The masked man quickly grabbed the steering wheel, stabilizing the car before pulling over.

It was then he saw the pool of blood beneath Azalea.

"Azalea, wake up!" he shouted.

But Azalea was unresponsive, unconscious from blood loss likely due to a recent abortion that hadn't healed properly.

Without wasting another second, the masked man carried Azalea to the back seat and sped towards the nearest hospital.

Meanwhile, Nathaniel's men surrounded the area.

"Should we go after them?" one of them asked.

"Forget it," Nathaniel said, shaking his head. He gently pinched Benjamin's cheek.

"How about we go see your mom?" he whispered.

Benjamin had been upset, but his eyes lit up at the mention of seeing Saskia. "Okay."

He had been sick recently and looked frail, but the thought of seeing Saskia filled him with joy.

Nathaniel quickly took him back to the villa.

At that time, Saskia was still running a fever, but her temperature had stabilized somewhat. After taking her medicine, she heard Benjamin calling out. "Mom!"

At first, she thought she was hallucinating, but when she looked up, Benjamin was running towards her.

"Mom, I missed you so much," he exclaimed.

Saskia was on the verge of tears. "I missed you too. Did you have fun with Aunt Azalea?"

"Aunt Azalea was very nice to me, but..." Benjamin trailed off, understanding that he shouldn't meddle in adult matters.

Saskia wanted to hug Benjamin, but she was worried about passing her illness to him, given his frail condition. She held back her desire.

"Thank you, Nathaniel, for bringing Benjamin back to me," she said.

Nathaniel coughed lightly. "I did it for Benjamin, not for you. No need to thank me."

Saskia knew she didn't deserve Nathaniel's kindness, so she nudged Benjamin. "Go thank Mr. Egan."

Benjamin cleared his throat, trying to sound grown-up. "Mr. Egan, thank you for bringing me back. But if you ever hurt my mom, I won't forgive you."

"You're quite the little tough guy," Nathaniel said with a chuckle.Looking at Benjamin's determined face, Nathaniel felt a warmth in his heart. He knelt down to meet Benjamin's eyes, his gaze soft and sincere.

"Alright, promise me you'll take good care of your mom from now on," he said.

Benjamin puffed out his chest. "That's a promise."

Saskia coughed. "Nathaniel, I'm still sick. Benjamin shouldn't stay here too long. Can you take him outside?"

It was clear she had something to say.

Nathaniel didn't hesitate to have the nanny take Benjamin out to play, then returned to the room.

"Say what you need to say," he prompted.

Saskia remarked, "You brought Benjamin back, and I owe you for that. But I can't stay here. Now that Benjamin is back, I should leave."

Nathaniel raised an eyebrow. "You're quick to burn bridges."

"I don't want to trouble you," Saskia said, coughing to hide her embarrassment.

"Fine," Nathaniel said coldly, turning to leave.

Saskia was surprised by how quickly he agreed, but she was relieved. It was better than getting entangled in more complications.

She wanted to ask about Azalea but felt too awkward to call Nathaniel back, so she decided to wait until she left in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, Nathaniel found Benjamin playing with the nannies.

He walked over and handed Benjamin a toy.

"Your mom wants to leave. What do you think?" he asked.

"I want to go with my mom," Benjamin said without hesitation.

Nathaniel smiled. "But your mom is sick, and you're not well either. If you leave, she'll have to take care of you while she's ill. It will be too much for her."

"What should we do?" Benjamin asked, his mood dampened.

Nathaniel smiled. "Here, we have nannies and servants to take care of you both, and a family doctor to manage your illnesses. You and your mom will be well taken care of."

"Mr. Egan, are you saying this just to keep my mom here?" Benjamin asked suspiciously.

Nathaniel felt a bit embarrassed being called out by a child.

He replied, "I'm just concerned for you both."

Benjamin sighed. "Alright, I'll talk to my mom."

When Saskia was about to leave, Benjamin's words surprised her.

She said, "What's so great about this place? No matter how comfortable it is, it's not our home. Let's go home."

"Mom, I want to stay here. It's fun, and the nannies make delicious soup," Benjamin said, looking pitiful.

Saskia felt something was off. "Did Nathaniel say something to you?" she asked.

Benjamin shook his head. "No, I just think it's better to recover here. You're too weak to take care of me if we go home."

Touched by Benjamin's thoughtfulness, Saskia hesitated.

She said, "But I already said we would leave."

"It's okay. Mr. Egan is nice. He'll let us stay," Benjamin said quickly.

Saskia sighed. "Alright, we'll stay until I get better."

"You're the best, Mom," Benjamin said, smiling.

Yet Saskia couldn't shake the feeling that Nathaniel had something to do with this.

He had wanted her to stay before.

As Saskia pondered, she decided to ask Nathaniel directly. Just then, the doorbell rang urgently.
