Chapter 95 Live Stream
The receptionist always thought that Pearl was a nice person. She was friendly to people and had a gentle temper. She couldn't possibly be the personOlivia described.
ButOlivia continued to argue and speak harshly, demonstrating that she was the type of person who would do anything to achieve her goals.
The receptionist wanted the security guard to escortOlivia out.
She happened to see a car with a journalist logo passing by. There were janitors at the entrance. These journalists were from reputable news outlets, and they might interview them, so the receptionist was reluctant to take action againstOlivia.
Olivia, with her sharp eyes, noticed the receptionist's expression and saw the journalists outside. This gave her a good opportunity. She stopped making a scene and started walking outside. "Stop them!"
The receptionist ordered the security guard to stop her. "What are you trying to do? Has the law ceased to exist?"
Olivia yelled as the security guard approached her. "Did Pearl instruct you to do this? She wants to shut me up and get rid of me!"
Isabelle, seeingOlivia being pulled away, shouted at the top of her voice, "Help! There's a fight going on here, they're assaulting people!"
The journalists outside were alarmed and peered inside. When they saw what was happening here, and that it involved the Brown Group, they sensed a major news story and hurried over.
The entrance was guarded by security. They were live streaming on location. They were there to interview the janitors for an online news segment.
Seeing this, Isabelle rushed over and spoke into a journalist's microphone. "Come see this! We are relatives of Pearl Harris, the secretary at this company. She has a major scandal..."
As soon as they heard the word "scandal," the journalists got excited. They knew Pearl. She was Oscar's secretary. They had just received unanimous praise for the Brown Group from the janitors. Now, they had the opportunity to uncover some scandals about the Brown Group.
"Take your time, don't rush. You can say anything you want. We are journalists, and we will give you a fair outcome," the female journalist said kindly.
Upon hearing that they would receive fair treatment,Olivia sat down on the ground and began to cry. "They assaulted us, they assaulted us. Pearl instructed these security guards to attack us! She is President Oscar's secretary and she used her position to physically harm her own relatives. I am her aunt, and she treated me this way. Ever since she graduated, she has been ungrateful and forgotten how we took care of her."
The receptionist became concerned. This live stream was being broadcasted, and it would surely damage the company's image. She quickly made a phone call to inform someone.
The female journalist held the microphone to interviewOlivia. "Madam, please take your time to explain. We are live streaming at the moment, and any grievances you have can be reported through the internet."
Seeing the journalists supporting them, they knew they had achieved their goal.
Olivia broke free from the security guards' grip. "Let me go! Haven't you heard the live stream?"
With so many cameras filming, the security guards hesitated and did not try to holdOlivia again.
In front of the cameras,Olivia almost instantly burst into tears. "Please help us."
Seraphina, who was standing outside, watched this scene and smiled triumphantly.
Today was a lucky coincidence. The journalists were present, and it seemed to be even more exciting than she had imagined.
Seraphina thought to herself, if Pearl tarnished Brown Group's image this time, she wondered how Oscar would view her. Even if she was Oscar's wife, she would be despised by others. She anticipated how she could turn the tide. It would be a disaster for Pearl.
Pearl was unaware of the chaos downstairs as she was in the office.
"Pearl, this is bad!"
Pearl had just come out of the restroom, fixing her appearance, when she saw Queenie in a hurry. She asked, "What happened that made you so anxious?"
"It's about you!"
Queenie couldn't believe that something like this could happen.
"Me?" Pearl was still clueless, so she asked, "What happened with me?"
"Your aunt and your cousin."
Pearl felt somewhat awkward. As long as she heard those names, she knew trouble was brewing.
She then saw the live stream scene on Queenie's phone.
Pearl's aunt and cousin deliberately portrayed themselves as victims in front of the journalists, damaging Pearl's image.
They even started spreading rumors.
They claimed that they had put in a lot of effort to support Pearl through college.
Pearl had finally landed a job at this company and achieved some success, but she became indifferent and did not care about her uncle and aunt.
She had never asked her family for any money.
Because they spent all their savings on supporting her education, her cousin couldn't get into a good school.
Now that her family was going through a difficult time, Pearl refused to take care of them and even wanted to see her uncle suffer.
They portrayed her as a cold-hearted and ungrateful person.
During the on-site interview, numerous bullet comments were floating in the live stream.
[How can such things still happen in this day and age? She is really inhumane!]
[They are so pitiful. They dress modestly and probably struggle financially. I looked up Pearl on the internet, and she dresses so luxuriously. She can even afford designer handbags. By the way, at the last Brown Group charity celebration, she wore a dress worth over 100 thousand dollars. The comparison shows how different their situations are!]
[Pearl, you know, we went to the same school, different classes though. I heard she is not serious about her job as a secretary and has had relationships with others. Just look at her face, she is just arm candy. You can imagine…]
[She is so shameless, this Pearl. If she treats her uncle and aunt this way, she probably treats her parents the same!]
[She's even being a mistress! She dresses so well, it's obvious she gets supported by others. Who knows if she obtained her position by selling her body…]
Queenie looked at the never-ending bullet comments and angrily said, "This is too much! These internet users just blindly leave comments after hearing someone's words. Who are they to say Pearl is arm candy just because she is pretty?"
She disagreed and continued, "This is objectifying women. They carry biases and if they don't have something, they want others to not have it either. They have prejudices against attractive women!"
The bullet comments all felt sorry forOlivia and Isabelle, and there were numerous comments criticizing Pearl.
During the live stream, the number of online viewers watching the interview withOlivia and Isabelle had not reached ten thousand yet.
But now, during the interview withOlivia and Isabelle, it quickly surpassed one hundred thousand.
Most people were angrily insulting others, claiming to be upholding their idea of justice.
Pearl didn't care about how the internet users perceived her, but she disliked the distortion of right and wrong and the uninformed comments made by the internet users.
"I'm going down there!" Pearl declared.
Queenie was worried she would face consequences. "Pearl, if you go down now, you might end up being photographed. Will it affect you?"
Pearl wasn't afraid. She was innocent. She wanted to teach them a lesson. They truly had no idea about the outside world and what they couldn't control.
