Chapter 106 Changing Faces

She turned off the car and waited for Haley to approach.

Haley, carrying the food she brought, sneered, "Why don't you come in? Are you unhappy seeing me chatting with Oscar?"

"What's up?" Pearl turned her head to look at Haley approaching.

"You haven't answered my question yet."

Pearl withdrew her gaze and said lightly, "You know there are people who have nothing, yet they insist on pretending to have something. The more they show off, the less they get."

Pearl knew Haley wanted to mock her at this opportunity. She was just showing off in front of her.

Haley's face turned cold; she disliked Pearl's feigned composure. "You must be feeling terrible inside. No matter how far apart Oscar and I are, he always has a place for me in his heart."

"He started a whole entertainment company just for me, knowing how much I love acting. He immediately arranged the best roles for me. He has me in his heart, which is the best proof. As for you, you are just a tool in the end, a tool that Oscar can discard at any time!"

Hearing this, Pearl couldn't help but clench her fists. She suddenly remembered Oscar's conversation with Magdalen; she was indeed a tool that helped Oscar secure shares. A sacrifice in a three-year marriage.

Rather than endure humiliation, Pearl decided she might as well maintain some dignity and not end up like a discarded woman.

Haley's indifferent gaze met Pearl's; Haley smirked, "I'm here to throw out the trash, the trash Oscar doesn't need!"

With that, Haley, in front of Pearl, tossed the food she had brought into the trash. Haley wanted to show Pearl. She intended to repay all the grievances she had suffered at Pearl's hands.

Haley wanted to see Pearl's distressed expression; it seemed Pearl could endure more than she had imagined. Indeed, Pearl had endured a lot in front of Oscar all this time; a little more wouldn't make a difference.

"Some things are trash. Throwing them away allows me to regain my freedom. You came at the right time; you seem to covet what I don't want. If you like what I don't want so much, then I'll give it to you so I don't have to make another trip!" Pearl showed no emotional fluctuations and directly took out a document from the passenger seat and threw it on the ground.

Haley looked at the document on the ground, with the words "Divorce Agreement" written in bold. She couldn't believe that Pearl had already signed this agreement.

Haley looked at Pearl, who seemed disdainful, as if she was truly picking up something unwanted.

How dare Pearl!

Seeing Haley's expression change, Pearl, who had been enduring, couldn't take it anymore. She clenched her fists and said, "You pick it up and hand it to Oscar. Whatever I don't want is yours!"

After speaking, Pearl started the car and left.

The exhaust fumes dispersed, causing Haley to cough. Haley had intended to teach Pearl a lesson, but Pearl ended up throwing mud in her face.

Haley gritted her teeth, "Pearl!"

"Ms. Haley, what's wrong?" The assistant followed, seeing Haley visibly upset, and added, "Are you okay, Ms. Haley?"

Haley looked at the "Divorce Agreement" on the ground. Reluctantly, she had to bend down and pick it up.

This was the document that severed Pearl's relationship with Oscar. Haley needed this document urgently she could smoothly marry Oscar after their divorce.

Haley tightly held the divorce agreement in her hand and said to the assistant, "It's okay, let's go inside."

Back in the ward, she had intended to take care of Oscar. However, Oscar avoided everyone and refused to see anyone.

Harold stood at the door and politely said, "Ms. Haley, Mr. Brown is resting. He said you don't need to worry about him; you should go back to the set."

"It's okay. I've already taken leave, and the director has approved it. I'll go back only after Oscar is discharged," Haley replied.

Harold was now in a dilemma and tactfully said, "Mr. Brown needs rest."

Haley glanced at the ward and understood his meaning. She wasn't upset and said, "Help me give this to Oscar. I'll make a quick trip back; Auntie's cooked meal, I'll bring it over."

"Okay, Ms. Haley."

Harold took the document, and seeing its bold words, he was also shocked. Haley said goodbye and left.

Assistant said, "Ms. Haley, why didn't you go in? You finally got the chance."

"Take it slow," Haley said. "There will be plenty of opportunities in the future. Let's go back to the Brown family first."

She had more important matters to attend to.

Inside the ward, Harold hesitated.

He didn't know whether he should hand over the document.

With his eyes closed, Oscar sensed Harold's presence and asked, "What's the matter?"

Harold had no choice but to hand over the document, saying, "Mr. Oscar, this document should be from Pearl."

Oscar opened his eyes, took the document, and upon seeing the words "Divorce Agreement," his expression darkened.

"When did Pearl send this?" Oscar asked.

"It was given to me by Ms. Haley, presumably from Pearl," Harold replied.

Oscar held the divorce agreement in his hand, still in disbelief. It wasn't until he opened the document and saw Pearl's signature that reality hit him. Oscar's already somber expression turned even darker.

Divorce—Pearl said it and did it, truly bold!

Pearl had indeed surprised him enough!

Oscar's grip tightened, his knuckles turning white. He was not pleased; his eyes darkened as he crumpled the divorce agreement and threw it away.

Pearl arrived at the police station.

Olivia and Isabelle had been at the police station for hours. Slander, public disorder, and extortion—these charges were enough to give them a headache. They didn't want to face legal consequences.

When Pearl arrived, Olivia fawned over her. "Pearl, you're here. We've been waiting for you for a long time."

"Pearl," Isabelle called out, "Olivia and I truly know we were wrong. We hope Pearl won't blame us."

Pearl looked at them, unmoved by their words, and coldly said, "I'm here to give a statement, not to listen to your complaints!"

She turned to the police officer and asked, "When do we start?"

The officer inquired, "Are you sure you want to press charges against them?"

Pearl replied directly, "Yes, I'm sure!"

Seeing Pearl unmoved, Olivia, who had already lost all hope of forgiveness, shouted, "Pearl, I've pleaded with you so much, and you still want to sue me and Isabella. You'll be in big trouble! Even Arthur won't forgive you!"

Pearl knew they wouldn't change. She forgave them this time, but there would be a next time.

Pearl wasn't soft-hearted; being soft-hearted would only make her life worse.

"Say whatever you want," Pearl said, "Let's proceed according to the law."

The officer said, "Pearl, this way, please!"

Olivia, feeling indignant, cursed, "Pearl, you heartless witch, serves you right!"
