Chapter 441 Have You Seen Enough?
RavenWing squinted and asked, "Who are you?"
Everyone on his team had specific roles, but Pearl was wandering around with a black pass card.
Pearl felt nervous.
Anyone with privileges in RavenWing's domain had to be important. She had no clue about his status.
Pearl needed to stay sharp. "I'm with Mr. Mitchell. Just getting familiar with the place."
She hadn't seen Barbara in the slave camp or knew where Adrian was. She needed to find them.
First step: get familiar with the place.
"Mr. Mitchell's person," RavenWing repeated.
"Yes. I have things to do, so I'll be going now." Pearl didn't want any trouble. She politely stated her identity, hoping RavenWing wouldn't act against her.
RavenWing didn't reply; he just stared at Pearl.
If she wore a white dress and stood by a rose bush, she'd look like Francesca from his memory.
"Davide," RavenWing commanded.
Davide Martini appeared instantly.
With a buzz cut, sharp eyebrows, and a serious face, Davide was respectful to RavenWing. "RavenWing."
RavenWing's eyes were icy. "Follow this woman. No, have Louis come see me."
"Yes," Davide responded without hesitation.
As Davide turned to leave, RavenWing called him back, "How's Carol?"
Davide paused and looked back. "Ms. Mitchell doesn't like chicken soup and isn't happy."
"She doesn't like it?" RavenWing said. "Got it. Have Louis come see me tonight."
"Okay," Davide replied and left.
About two hours later, RavenWing showed up in Carol's room, now wearing his fanged mask.
He brought a cake and a dress in Carol's size.
"If you don't like chicken soup, skip it. This cake is small, recommended by the shop. If you don't like it, I'll take you there next time. This dress, I thought it would suit you."
Louis's village had been destroyed by the Allied forces, and now this place was the only safe haven in the war zone.
RavenWing personally bought her a cake and a dress.
Carol was shocked. "Thank you."
She didn't know what to say.
RavenWing patted her head gently. "I was thinking about the chicken soup for your nutrition and forgot about your taste."
Carol was stunned.
She had been here a long time and rarely saw RavenWing. He was always busy and masked.
She had never seen RavenWing's real face. No one had.
"Carol, if you need anything, just tell me."
She couldn't see his features, but his actions were gentle. Carol felt a father's affection from him.
Carol lowered her head. "I want to go out. But don't worry, I won't cause trouble or get hurt."
Pearl hadn't been tortured, and she wasn't about to let that slide. Even with Louis having Giovanni protect Pearl, it wouldn't matter here.
She was confident Pearl wouldn't make it back.
RavenWing was pleased with Carol's words. She was usually straightforward, except for lying about Matteo recently.
He was too busy to deal with everything.
"Good to hear. You met with Louis last time. Do you know the people around him?" RavenWing asked.
Carol panicked inside. 'Did RavenWing see Pearl?' she wondered.
"Father, why are you asking?" Carol asked cautiously.
"I saw a woman today who said she was with Louis," RavenWing replied.
Carol's nails dug into her flesh. She knew she couldn't only let Pearl be tortured here.
After Pearl was broken, she had to make her disappear forever.
"I just got back. Louis doesn't like me much. I don't know his decisions or the people around him," Carol said, lowering her head.
RavenWing didn't press further. After a few seconds, he asked, "Have you learned how to shoot?"
Carol nodded. "Jorge taught me everything."
"Good. I have other things to do. If you need anything, come to me."
"Okay," Carol said, seeing him off.
After RavenWing left, Carol opened the clothes he brought. She didn't touch the cake.
The dress was a white one-piece with pink roses at the neckline.
'Wearing this in a war zone?' she thought.
She didn't like it but had no choice; it was a gift from RavenWing.
After leaving RavenWing's sight, Pearl walked to the other side. She had memorized the terrain.
She noticed a pattern.
The guards had a two-minute gap during shift changes, perfect for escaping at night.
Pearl didn't look around too much but saw there were several places where male and female slaves were held.
At that moment, a group was escorting male slaves.
As Pearl was about to observe, a tall shadow appeared in front of her.
It was Giovanni.
He blocked her view and the view of a male slave behind him.
The male slave had an ordinary face but bright eyes.
"Seen enough?" Giovanni asked in a low voice.
Pearl was more about observing her surroundings, but with Louis's special privileges, she wasn't too worried.
"If I said yes, you wouldn't believe me," Pearl said, looking Giovanni in the eye. "I noticed there are many people here. Can you ask Giulia to help me find someone? I need to find someone here too."
Giovanni retorted, "Why don't you just say you want me to help you find two people?"
