Chapter 801 What Happened

Nathaniel couldn't quite put his feelings into words at that moment.

It felt like some invisible force was yanking at him, threatening to tear him apart.

With Saskia's familiar scent flooding his senses, he felt dizzy and then everything went black.

Jade freaked out.

"Nathaniel!" she yelled, but he didn't stir.

Saskia quickly took control. "Mrs. Egan, call Quincy right now. He needs to check on Nathaniel."

Taking him to the hospital would be a media circus, and his enemies might pounce. Quincy coming over was the best bet.

Jade nodded. "Okay, I'll call him right away."

Saskia's calmness gave her a sense of direction.

Quincy showed up with his medical kit as soon as he heard Nathaniel had passed out and was coughing up blood.

Nathaniel had gotten too worked up, causing his blood pressure to skyrocket.

He had a successful career and plenty of money, so this had to be about Saskia.

Quincy looked at Saskia. "What happened?"

Saskia looked down, unable to speak.

Jade felt guilty. "It's my fault. Nathaniel found out that Saskia's child is his biological son."

Quincy was floored.

Nathaniel's tangled feelings for Saskia were one thing, but now it turned out Benjamin was his son!

No wonder Nathaniel was so overwhelmed.

Saskia, the woman he'd loved and hated for years, had never betrayed him and had raised Benjamin on her own!

Before Quincy could say anything, Jade cut in, "Quincy, is Nathaniel going to be okay?"

If something happened to Nathaniel, she'd never forgive herself.

She'd only wanted the best for him, but now everything was a mess because of her.

Quincy reassured her, "He'll be fine. He just needs to rest for a bit."

Jade finally exhaled in relief.

Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked at Saskia. "Saskia, I'm sorry. Please stay with Nathaniel. Don't worry about Benjamin. He's my grandson, and I'll make sure he's safe."

Jade had disliked Saskia before, thinking that avoiding Benjamin would ease her conscience.

But when she saw Benjamin for the first time, her heart melted.

That's the power of family ties.

Saskia nodded. "Okay."

Nathaniel's health was the priority now, and it was her turn to take care of him.

Quincy and Jade left the room, giving them some privacy.

Saskia looked at Nathaniel lying on the bed, her heart softening.

If they were just regular people, without all these complications, they could've fallen in love, gotten married, and had kids like any other couple.

But he had gone from George to Nathaniel, and his status had skyrocketed.

No, he had always been better off. Even as George, his family was better off than Saskia's.

Suddenly, she felt a hand grasp hers.

She looked up to see Nathaniel, now awake.

His eyes were bloodshot, and his face was pale.

Their eyes met, and the silence said it all.

Saskia tried to pull her hand away, but Nathaniel held on tighter."Now that everything's out in the open, my mom won't be a problem anymore. Can't we just be a happy family of three?" Nathaniel's voice was rough.

"What about Azalea? You brought Benjamin back, but Azalea's missing. Is she dead?" Saskia's voice shook with uncertainty. She couldn't believe Azalea was really gone without seeing it for herself. Plus, her home was destroyed, and Azalea was her family.

Nathaniel shook his head. "No, Azalea ran away. Saskia, I can explain everything about the child she was carrying. I used her, but I never touched her. Even if I deceived her, I never held back on the money I gave her."

Nathaniel's money for Azalea had always been used to improve Saskia's life and cover Benjamin's medical expenses.

Azalea genuinely loved Nathaniel and wanted to spend her life with him. Even if she hadn't come back yet, she would eventually. When she saw Saskia and Nathaniel together, living happily as a family, what would that mean for her?

Saskia couldn't ignore Azalea. Besides, she and Nathaniel had been apart for four years; they were no longer the same people they once were.

Saskia said, "Nathaniel, we've already separated. Let's not dwell on the past. Your mom picked a good fiancée for you. Be with Amy."

Nathaniel's eyes flashed with disbelief. "You gave me up for five million dollars before, and now you're giving me up because of Azalea?"

Saskia's love for him seemed so fragile.

"Saskia, what about Benjamin? Wouldn't he be happier with me? I can provide him with better treatment, education, and life. He's still so young. Before, we had no choice, but now?" Nathaniel's eyes were red.

Hearing this, Saskia thought of Benjamin. Nathaniel was right. Benjamin would have a better life with him. Before, they had no choice. Now that Nathaniel knew Benjamin was his son, he wouldn't let Benjamin suffer anymore. But Saskia couldn't bear to be separated from Benjamin.

She asked, "Nathaniel, what about Azalea? You were practically engaged to her."

"If that's what you're worried about, I'll find her, and we'll talk it out," Nathaniel said confidently.

Then he added, "For now, stay with me. I'll have Quincy give Benjamin a thorough check-up and the best treatment."

Not just Quincy. Nathaniel suddenly thought of Oscar. Oscar's father-in-law, RavenWing, had a full medical team, and Pearl had a doctor friend, Jeffery. With all these people together, they could surely help Benjamin recover, just like Christopher.

With that in mind, Nathaniel called Oscar.

Oscar understood his request and offered, "Pearl's father is currently undergoing treatment abroad with his medical team. Pearl's friend has a hospital in Willow Creek. I can help you get in touch."

"Great, thank you," Nathaniel replied, relief washing over him.

He had only one goal now: to make sure Benjamin got better. Oscar thought Nathaniel was just trying to save a child, not knowing Benjamin was his son.

Oscar said, "Nathaniel, as James mentioned, if you still love her, don't let anything stand in your way."
