Chapter 623 Can't Let People Laugh at Us Again

Oscar was totally lost, not really getting what was on her mind.

He gently held Pearl's face and kissed her. "It shouldn't be like that, just like us. Aren't we two people in love?"

"I'm talking about Janetta," Pearl said, clearly worried about her.

Oscar pointed over to Janetta, who was riding on Damian's back.

"You gotta believe that everything happens for a reason, even if it seems crazy. That's just life." Oscar didn't mention how the Doe Family was badmouthing Janetta.

From their attitude, Oscar actually thought things were better now than if she had married Henry.

Janetta's personality couldn't handle Patricia, let alone anyone else.

"Oh!" Janetta suddenly exclaimed, jumping off Damian and starting to take off her pants.

Damian quickly stopped her.

Seeing her pants were wet, he gently asked, "Janie, did you have an accident?"

Janetta nodded, looking up at Damian with sad eyes.

Damian patted her head and comforted her, "It's okay. Next time, just tell me, and I'll take you to the bathroom, alright?"

Janetta nodded again.

From a distance, Pearl saw everything and whispered, "She wet her pants. Does she not even remember that now?"

"The doctor said Janetta's doing well. In severe cases, people can't even take care of themselves and talk nonsense all day." Oscar knew watching any longer would upset her more, so he told the driver to leave.

Pearl didn't want to go and tried to resist, but Oscar held her chin.

She was a bit annoyed. "Oscar, don't make me mad."

Oscar smiled. "Pearl, you're making me react."

The driver chuckled.

Pearl felt a mix of embarrassment and anger, pushing him away and turning to look out the window. But soon, she couldn't sit still.

She was hungry and wanted a snack. But the snack bag was on Oscar's side.

She glanced at Oscar, who was busy on his phone and didn't notice.

The snack bag was near the door, and she could reach it if she moved over.

Pearl tried to move but couldn't manage it.

"What's up?" Oscar put down his phone.

He was going to tease her, but seeing her eyes, he felt sorry for her.

Pearl said, "I want chocolate, cookies, and milk."

As soon as she said it, he handed her the snacks.

She drank a bottle of milk first, sighed contentedly, and then slowly enjoyed the cookies and chocolate.

Oscar wiped her mouth and told her to eat slowly.

Pearl pouted. "You're not mad at me?"

Oscar laughed. "You're my wife. How could I be mad at you?"

"Really? But I'm mad at you." Pearl pouted again, only to be kissed by Oscar, and she hummed in protest.

Oscar laughed. "I know you're mad. I was just thinking about how to make it up to you, and then you got hungry. But Pearl, no matter what happens, you always come first for me. Don't worry about me ignoring you."

At that moment, Oscar knew Pearl was worried he was angry. He didn't want her to think that way.

After she finished eating, Pearl burped and started to feel sleepy. She adjusted herself and fell asleep on Oscar's shoulder.

Day after day, Damian had to go back to the office, but Janetta wouldn't let anyone else get close to her.

Feeling stuck, Damian had no choice but to bring Janetta to work with him.

To keep her calm and undisturbed, he set up some kids' stuff in his office and made sure only his assistant could come in.

When they arrived at the company in the morning, someone recognized Janetta right away.

Seeing her in such a state, people started whispering and gossiping.

They kept it low, so Damian didn't catch it, but Henry did.

Henry had finally convinced Hunter to come out for some business, and on their first day at the Clark Group, he saw Janetta.

Seeing her like this broke Henry's heart. When he heard people badmouthing her, he was furious.

But Henry wasn't the hothead he used to be. He kept his cool, followed the secretary to the business department, and calmly negotiated the deal.

When it was time to confirm the contract, Henry spoke up, "Just so you know, if these people stay at the Clark Group, the Doe Group won't do business with you, and we'll make sure no one else does either."

The department head, being a smart guy, quickly weighed the options and reported to Damian.

Upon learning that it was Henry's first day at the company, Damian, confused at first, immediately reviewed the surveillance footage and saw those people insulting Janetta, which made him so furious that he swept the documents off his desk onto the floor.

He ordered, "Tell the department head to agree to Henry's demand."

He couldn't fire that many people at once, but a big client like the Doe Group could.

After dealing with it, Damian turned around to see Janetta looking scared, and he immediately realized his mistake.

Damian quickly apologized, "I'm sorry. It's my fault. Don't be scared, okay?"

Janetta timidly said, "Damian, don't be angry. I'm scared."

Damian hugged her. "Okay, I won't get angry anymore."

Janetta finally smiled and stuffed a cookie into his mouth.

A different smell hit his nose from the cookie, and he saw a puddle on the floor.

Apparently, Janetta had wet her pants again.

Damian was used to it, smiling as he picked her up to change her pants.

Janetta shook her head. "Damian, eat the cookie."

A cookie with a little extra something. Damian felt helpless but still ate it.

Janetta clapped her hands in delight and took out another one. This time, Damian didn't give her a chance and carried her into the inner room.

Henry's actions quickly reached the Doe Family, and Hunter was very pleased.

Patricia, however, was worried. "Dad, is it really okay to let him work with the Clark Group? I heard Janetta's lost it. What if..."

Hunter laughed. "No, Henry knows deep down that he and Janetta are over. Even if he still has feelings for her, he wouldn't dare reach out to her."

Patricia didn't get it.

Hunter stroked his beard. "He'd be afraid we'd hurt Janetta."

With that, Patricia understood. She immediately beamed with joy. "Then I'll set up the matchmaking right away. He definitely won't object now."

Hunter nodded and reminded her, "Make sure to check the person's character. We can't afford to be laughed at again."
