Chapter 566 Bullying Pearl is Bullying Him

Harvey was straight-up spooked by Pearl's glare. If he didn't have all those years hustling in sales, he would've totally lost it.

After what felt like forever, Harvey forced a smile and sidled up to Oscar, trying to butter him up. "Mr. Brown, I really need your help with this shipment. I'm out of options here."

Oscar didn't mess around. He shot Harvey a direct look and asked, "Weren't you working with the Davies Group? What happened there?"

Harvey's face went dark. He stuttered a bit before letting out a heavy sigh.

Oscar's suspicion grew. This wasn't how normal business went down. He gave Pearl a nod, signaling her to dig deeper.

Right then, Pearl's phone buzzed. It was Christopher's teacher. "Sorry, I gotta take this," she said, stepping out of the room.

"Hello, this is Christopher's mom, Pearl," she answered.

"Pearl, can you come to the school? Christopher got into a fight and kinda hurt another kid. The other parents are demanding you come over," the teacher explained.

What? Christopher in a fight? School just started, and everyone should still be getting to know each other. How did this happen?

Pearl rushed to the school. Before she even got to the office, she heard a shrill voice. "I don't want apologies. I want compensation."

The voice was unfamiliar.

Pearl pushed the door open and said, "If it's my kid's fault, I'll pay. But if it's not, I won't pay a dime."

"Who are you?" The woman was haughty, practically looking down her nose at Pearl.

Pearl took a moment to size her up.

Bright red dress, pearl necklace, pendant earrings, diamond ring—definitely loaded.

"May I have your name?" Pearl asked, trying to keep her cool and figure out what was going on.

The woman snorted, "Just refer to me as Mrs. Davies. Let's cut to the chase. This is the amount I expect, no negotiating. Not a cent less." She went straight to talking money.

Pearl checked her out again. The outfit was legit. Why was she so hung up on money?

Ignoring that arrogant woman, Pearl turned to find Christopher.

"Mom," Christopher cried, running into her arms. "I didn't mean to hit him. He called me a bumpkin and said I was dumb. I could handle that, but then he called you a homewrecker. I couldn't take it and hit him."

Ainsley Davies, that arrogant woman, sneered at Christopher, "Your mom should be honored my son even talked about her, and you dare hit him? This is outrageous." She dragged the principal over. "She must pay up, or I'm taking this to the school board."

Pearl didn't want to make things hard for the principal. Holding Christopher, she walked up to Ainsley and smiled. "Since your son insulted me, we should talk compensation. Mrs. Davies, right? My lawyer will be in touch."

With that, she left with Christopher, ignoring Ainsley's curses echoing behind them.

Christopher looked up, worried. "Mom, she's really scary. Are you sure nothing will happen?"

"We did nothing wrong. There's nothing to fear," Pearl reassured him.

"But he said his family is really powerful. If his dad wants us out of Willow Creek, he can make it happen," Christopher said, still anxious.

Pearl stopped and looked at him seriously, debating whether to tell him they were actually pretty powerful themselves and didn't need to fear anyone.

After thinking it over, she decided to keep it to herself. She'd handle Ainsley through legal means.

When they got home, Pearl made a quick call to Oscar and then had her lawyer contact Ainsley.

To Pearl, the whole thing was done and dusted.

She peeked into Christopher's room and saw him already snoozing, so she headed downstairs to whip up some dinner.

As soon as she shut the door, Christopher sat up in bed and whispered, "Grandpa, did you catch all that?"

"Yeah, kiddo. Someone's giving you trouble?"

"Yep, Grandpa. You gotta help us out. No one messes with Mom. Messing with her is like messing with you."

Before RavenWing could chime in, Christopher added, "Grandpa, do you have a lot of money? Can you lend me some?"

"Of course, Christopher. Don't sweat it. Whether it's cash or anything else, Grandpa's got it covered. Just hang tight, I'll sort everything out." RavenWing immediately sent some folks to Willow Creek.

Christopher was right; messing with Pearl was like messing with him.

With that, RavenWing thought about calling Pearl but got a message from Christopher asking him to keep it hush-hush.

He got the hint and decided to handle it on the down-low, telling his people to be discreet in Willow Creek.

Over at the Brown Group, Oscar saw Harvey off and stood on the top floor, watching him leave.

He told his secretary, "Get in touch with Archie and let him know Harvey came to me for a partnership."

The secretary nodded and left. A few minutes later, she came back and said, "Mr. Brown, he said he's on his way and asked if Ms. Magdalen Brown is in the office."

"Tell him Magdalen's here, and then get Magdalen to come to the office ASAP. Tell her it's urgent." Oscar's face was more serious than ever.Oscar had messed up. He should've just stayed out of it, considering Archie's indifference to business, but for some reason, he invited Magdalen over. He was betraying the family.

Oscar pressed his lips together and frowned. "When Archie gets here, have him wait for me in the meeting room. I'm stepping out for a bit."

He grabbed his car keys and left. Just as he hit the parking lot, he got a message.

He frowned hard. RavenWing had sent people to Willow Creek. What was he up to?

Willow Creek wasn't like other places. He couldn't afford to wait and immediately made a call, instructing, "Keep an eye on those people. Let me know right away if anything happens. If things get dicey, stop them first."

Willow Creek was a tricky place, and those lurking in the shadows might be waiting for a chance. If RavenWing made a move, it might be the opening they needed.

He didn't leave the company but stayed in his car, listening to some tunes.

Magdalen took a cab to the company. When she arrived, she saw Archie at the front desk and immediately tried to bail.

"Ms. Brown," Archie called out.

Magdalen reluctantly turned around, forcing a fake smile. "What a coincidence. Something just came up, so I have to run. Can't chat right now."

"What urgent matter? Mr. Brown said he had something to discuss with me and that you would talk to me. If you have something urgent, I'll leave first." Archie said and was about to walk out of the building. Magdalen stopped him.

Oscar had invited Archie over. If it was something important and she delayed it because of personal reasons, it would be petty of her.

"What are you doing?" Archie looked at her hand with a half-smile.

Magdalen felt a bit awkward, saying, "Well, we can go up and chat for a bit. Since we're at the company, business matters should come first."

They smiled without saying anything, walking into the elevator one after the other. Magdalen stepped aside to keep some distance from him.

"Are you afraid of me?" Archie squinted his eyes slightly.
