Chapter 537 Is Pearl being wronged with you?

At that moment, Pearl and Oscar were swapping rings.

Mackenzie piped up, "Hold up! I haven't given you my wedding gift yet. How can you wrap up the ceremony without it?"

Her presence had the guests exchanging puzzled looks.

Those who knew her weren't exactly thrilled.

RavenWing shot Louis a glance, and Louis marched over to Mackenzie. "Can we save some stuff for after the wedding?"

Not just Louis, but Jimena too, closing in on Mackenzie.

Mackenzie couldn't help but grin. "Didn't I spell it out? I'm here with a wedding gift. Why's everyone so jumpy? Besides, I'm solo. It's not like I can wreck the wedding on my own, right?"

Mackenzie was indeed flying solo, but they couldn't let their guard down.

Especially since Mackenzie was once Charles's pick for Oscar's fiancée. And most importantly, she never gave up on Oscar.

Louis grabbed her wrist. "I don't know if you can wreck the wedding, but Oscar and Pearl didn't invite you. What's your deal?"

Jimena wrapped her arms around Mackenzie's waist.

Mackenzie sensed it, but Jimena was quicker.

Now, she was determined to stick close to Louis and Pearl.

Jimena was worried something might go south at the wedding, and with Louis in Willow Creek, she came prepared.

So, when the gun pressed against Mackenzie's waist, she didn't flinch. A deep sneer crossed her lips. "Didn't see this coming. We were once engaged. I don't hold a grudge for you ditching me, and this is how you greet me?"

Mackenzie raised her voice, looking at Oscar, deliberately putting the blame on him.

As soon as she said this, the whole place went nuts.

"What? Oscar's been dead for five years, has a kid, and he still has a fiancée?"

"We never heard he had a fiancée before. What's the deal? What happened in these five years that we missed?"

Evans and Kittie's faces were especially grim. Even though they were just Pearl's adoptive parents, from the moment they took Pearl in, they treated her like their own daughter. Pearl marrying Oscar without a proper wedding already had them miffed.

Oscar had been "dead" for five years, and how long had Pearl been mourning him?

And now! Not only did Oscar not properly make it up to Pearl, but he also caused this mess at the wedding! Most importantly, both Oscar and Pearl looked unhappy, which meant Mackenzie was indeed once Oscar's fiancée.

The smugness on Mackenzie's lips deepened. She did it on purpose. She wanted to see what Oscar would do when everyone knew she was his fiancée and the crowd was in chaos.

Whether he kicked her out or stopped the wedding, Oscar and Pearl's wedding couldn't go off without a hitch.

She never saw it coming when Oscar grabbed Pearl's hand and led her to the center stage. With their fingers locked together, they made sure everyone could see their connection.

Oscar's voice boomed, "Listen up, everyone. I, Oscar, have only ever loved Pearl. That whole Haley thing? She saved my life once, and I was grateful. I didn't explain then, and I don't need to explain now. But here's the deal: I want to be with Pearl, and I won't stand for anyone badmouthing or hurting her. The woman in front of me was my biological dad's pick for a fiancée. I made it clear from the start—I don't like her, and I sure as hell won't marry her. Thanks for coming to my wedding with Pearl today. But if you've got other plans, that's on you. I've said my piece. The rest? Not my problem, and I won't explain further."

As he wrapped up, Harold brought security over to Mackenzie.

They opened Mackenzie's "gift," which turned out to be a time bomb.

But for Elijah and Nicholas, it was no biggie. They'd been in the military and faced way worse.

They could defuse it easily, but it did freak out the guests.

Harold had a way to handle it, though.

Oscar felt he owed Pearl big time. He wanted to give her a grand, unforgettable wedding, and it sure became unforgettable, one for the books.

Even Evans and Kittie, who found him later, had something to say.

Evans's face was stone-cold, his eyes fierce. "You've already made Pearl suffer so much. Now you want to make up for it with a wedding, and you still make her suffer! Oscar, is Pearl meant to suffer with you?"

RavenWing wanted to talk to Oscar too, but Evans and Kittie got to him first, so he had to wait nearby.

He wanted to talk to Oscar, and also thank Evans and Kittie.

If it weren't for them, Pearl wouldn't have grown up safely. She might have wandered and even died.

He wanted to thank them properly.

But hearing Evans's words, RavenWing felt a pang of sorrow.

Those were what he should have said.

"I know I messed up. I never wanted Pearl to suffer. I was wrong before. But trust me, I won't let it happen again. I love Pearl more than anything, and I won't let her suffer even a bit."

Since his return, he'd been prepping for the wedding, wanting everything to be perfect, handling every detail himself.

And then there were the flowers—Pearl's favorites. All different kinds of roses.

But Mackenzie crashing the wedding really got under Oscar's skin.

"You even have a fiancée, and a biological father. Does Pearl know about this?"

"If you don't come clean with Pearl, how much more will she have to suffer!"

At this point, Evans's voice cracked with emotion.
