Chapter 460 Contacting Oscar
Pearl needed to get closer to Louis, but she hadn't seen him or Giovanni since she last saw Carol. Just as she was debating whether to ask around for Louis, he showed up.
Louis seemed to read her mind. He chuckled and asked, "Looking for me?"
"Yes," Pearl nodded, stepping closer. "I've decided. I want to contact Oscar."
Louis stared at her, but she stayed calm.
"Oscar told me Jeffery is already in Eldorians," he said.
Pearl was shocked. "What!"
She wondered if Jeffery came because of her. Was she that important to him? Was he good to her just because she was Carol?
Her heart raced. If she was Carol, then who was the current Carol?
"Louis, who found Carol?" she asked.
"Kevin," Louis replied.
Pearl repeated the name and had a realization. Was there a link between Kevin and Haley?
Louis could see her reaction clearly. "Kevin is Haley's father. I think our DNA test report might be fake."
This blood test was done in three places. He trusted his gut over the report. No one else knew about it except Pearl.
Pearl's breathing quickened. If Haley was Carol, then everything made sense. But she couldn't be RavenWing's daughter!
She started to fall, and Louis caught her, lifting her up. "Get the doctor! Now!" he shouted, placing her on the bed.
Pearl had never felt so distressed. "I'm not Carol. I have parents," she said, struggling to speak.
Louis felt heartbroken seeing her like this. "Don't talk," he said.
He was kind to Pearl because of the cross bracelet she wore, thinking she might be his sister. He doubted the DNA test result and trusted his intuition.
"Pearl, I know what you're thinking, but if the truth is—"
"I don't want to hear it," Pearl interrupted, her voice trembling. She couldn't bear to think about it.
The DNA test couldn't be done immediately, leaving them in suspense. Louis handed Pearl a phone. "No password," he said, then left.
Pearl was unsure how to feel but knew she had a chance to contact Oscar. She dialed his number from memory.
Oscar answered, thinking it was Louis. "Did you find Jeffery?"
"It's me," Pearl said. "Did you contact Jeffery?"
"Yes," Oscar replied, surprised but relieved to hear her voice.
Pearl spoke slowly, "I have some ideas."
She looked around; Louis was nowhere in sight. Oscar warned, "Pearl, don't act impulsively. I've already reported to the higher-ups in Eldorians."
"I understand, Oscar. I don't blame you. I just want to do something," she said, gripping the phone tightly.
Oscar was serious. "I don't need you to do anything. Jeffery is in Eldorians. I won't let you stay there long."
"I have a plan..."
Oscar interrupted, "I know your plan. You want to incite the internal slaves to cooperate with me. But you don't have a phone, a positioning device, or weapons. It will be a dead end. Wait for me."
Pearl fell silent. Oscar's words made sense. She didn't have weapons, and many could die if they were overpowered.
Oscar's voice softened. "Pearl, wait for me. It won't be long." Then he hung up.
Pearl's heart grew heavier. Louis returned and said, "This is Eldorians, equipped with advanced weaponry. Don't overthink it; you don't have the capability."
Pearl was silent. Were her thoughts that transparent? Or was there a telepathic connection with Louis?
"You are Oscar's wife. Before you meet Oscar, you asked Chiara to stay by your side and wanted to find Barbara and Adrian. That's when I knew," Louis said.
