Chapter 183 Shopping
Upon arriving downtown, they went to buy beverages, which were mainly purchased for the break room from this store. It didn't take long.
Pearl's task was a bit more complicated.
The coffee beans for Oscar required a reservation.
Fortunately, they still had some.
Pearl went over.
"Pearl, shall we make a reservation for the coffee beans Mr. Brown drinks?" Queenie didn't understand why these coffee beans were so scarce.
Pearl replied, "Mr. Brown is quite picky."
Oscar only drank this particular type of coffee.
Queenie could only sigh, thinking how nice it was to be wealthy, even the coffee beans were top-notch.
Pearl had already made an appointment with Adam, and upon entering, she asked, "Adam, have you prepared it for me as usual."
Adam looked a bit troubled, "Miss Harris, there's only this one bag left, maybe..."
He hesitated, looking like he had some difficulties.
Pearl noticed and looked to the side, only to see Aurora drinking coffee there. "I was wondering who it could be with such taste. Turns out it's you, Pearl. But Pearl, your taste isn't quite at this level. Is it for Oscar?"
Pearl didn't even want to respond to Aurora and asked, "Adam, wasn't this bag reserved for me?"
"Yes, but Miss Johnson has also spent a lot in our store, and she won't let go..." Adam was in a difficult position, not daring to offend both of them.
Aurora stood up and said,"Don't worry. You mentioned that the price of this coffee bean has increased, but I can afford it. I simply appreciate rare things."
Aurora took out a card from her bag, spoke to Pearl.
Pearl felt uncomfortable and said, "Shouldn't things be done in order? Adam, do you think the Brown Group lacks of money?"
Adam didn't want to offend anyone; it wasn't just about money anymore.
"Miss Harris, Miss Johnson, how about both sides make concessions, and I'll notify you when more stock arrives."
"I don't want to share," Aurora said.
Pearl, not wanting to lose, said, "Since Miss Johnson put it that way, let's queue up. I reserved it first."
Pearl grabbed the bag of coffee beans.
"I came first." Aurora didn't back down.
When Queenie saw Aurora was deliberately making things difficult for Pearl and angrily said, "We clearly reserved it first. Hand it over!"
Queenie also tried to grab it.
"What are you doing?" Aurora's face changed. "Don't think you two can bully me!"
"What are you doing!"
Sophia had just come out of the restroom and saw Pearl and Queenie fighting over something with Aurora. She immediately ran over and pushed Pearl and Queenie away. "It's you again. Do you think you can bully her because she's alone?"
Pearl was a bit surprised to see Sophia.
Why Sophia was here?
It seemed that Sophia and Aurora had a good relationship.
Aurora held Sophia back. "Sophia, don't worry. If you get hurt, I'll feel guilty!"
Sophia said coldly, "She wouldn't dare to bully me! Or,I won't let her off!"
Queenie said, "We weren't bullying her; she was deliberately making things difficult for us!"
"I know you were making things difficult for Aurora. Do you think you can bully her just because she's not as familiar with this place as you?"
Pearl pulled Queenie back, telling her to stop saying. "You misunderstood. We have no enmity with Miss Johnson. On the contrary, we are in a cooperative relationship..."
"Stop talking nonsense!" Sophia interrupted Pearl. "There's no Oscar or my grandfather here, so you don't need to pretend to be friendly in front of me, wicked woman. "
Sophia's words left Pearl stunned.
How did she become a wicked woman?
Pearl didn't have any conflicts with Sophia, why did she behave so unfriendly to her?.
Pearl noticed that Sophia was younger than her, Hunter's granddaughter, and had grown up without her parents. Pearl decided to make a concession. "If you like it so much, you can have it. It's no big deal."
Queenie was still wanting to stand up for Pearl.
But Pearl said, "Queenie, let's go."
Queenie protested, "But what about Mr. Brown's coffee beans? If he doesn't get them, won't he blame you?"
"It doesn't matter."
Sophia, seeing Pearl trying to play the good person, scoffed,"Don't pretend. Even if you back down, I won't thank you. You caused my grandfather to scold me and stripped me of my dignity. I haven't even sought my revenge yet. I won't forgive you!"
Pearl saw that Sophia was just being childish and didn't say anything.
Aurora didn't actually want the coffee beans; she just wanted to embarrass Pearl because Pearl had embarrassed her last time.
Aurora and Oscar could have gone to the fireworks show.
It was such a good opportunity, but Pearl ruined it.
Aurora then looked at Sophia. "Sophia, thank you for standing up for me just now."
Sophia replied, "It's what I should do. If Pearl bullies you again, tell me, and I'll protect you."
"Sophia, you're so kind." Aurora said this, but she was sneering inside. Sophia was so easy to be deceived. She added, "You're my only friend. I'm glad to be friend with you."
"But Pearl is buying coffee beans for Oscar. If she says something to him..."
"She won't. Oscar isn't that petty. If he misunderstands, it's because Pearl said something. If it really makes things difficult for you, just tell me, and I'll help you."
"You're really too kind." Aurora hugged Sophia. "Thank you so much."
"Let's go have lunch later."
After leaving the store, Pearl went to another shop.
This was twenty minutes later.
Queenie was still a bit worried. "Will Mr. Brown like this type of coffee beans? What if he doesn't?"
Pearl said, "It's better than nothing."
If Oscar was busy with work, he would want to have a cup of coffee. Even if it wasn't the same brand, it was better than nothing.
Oscar being unhappy was still better than him having no coffee at all.
After buying the coffee, Pearl and Queenie headed back.
It was rush hour, so the roads were very congested.
Pearl took a side road to save time.
Queenie had never been here before. The alley was deserted and felt eerie. She said, "Pearl, why are we taking this route? It feels a bit dangerous."
"There are fewer cars here, so we can get to the office faster. Don't worry, it's fine." Pearl had taken this route a few times before.
Queenie added, "Don't worry. If there are any bad guys, I'll protect you."
Pearl smiled at Queenie.
However, they weren't the ones in danger.
As they drove through, they heard a frightened scream from the alley. "Where am I? What do you want to do?"
