Chapter 539 An Unexpected Encounter
Jimena leaned in and whispered, "Louis, we've been having a blast lately, right?"
Next thing you know, she was right up in Louis's space.
She had to tilt her head back to look at him 'cause he was taller.
Louis's face was right there, and it was the kind of face Jimena was totally obsessed with.
Louis pressed his lips together, and all those good times with Jimena flashed through his mind. Yeah, they were pretty awesome.
Jimena never threw fits and always thought about his feelings.
But man, he had a ton of responsibilities. He had to work for the Eldorians, and most of his future was tied up with them.
In the end, wouldn't he still owe Jimena?
"Jimena, you should stick to your promises," Louis said slowly, trying to use that promise to make Jimena back off.
Jimena's throat tightened, and her heart felt like it was in a vice.
Louis saw how sincere she was, but he was still so stubborn!
Jimena's breathing got heavy. "Louis, you're the leader of the Eldorians. You gotta work for them, but you also gotta live your own life. Can't you get married as their leader?"
But the whole RavenWing owing Francesca thing was still fresh in his mind. Louis didn't want to owe anyone, and since he was already looking out for the Eldorians, what did it matter if he sacrificed himself?
"Yeah, but I don't have that much time, Jimena. The only promise I can give you is for one month."
"No way, I'm gonna fight for this! I don't care what you said. I get you, and I believe the Eldorians' future will be even better. If you're scared of owing me, I can join you in working for the Eldorians. We'll both be busy, and there will be no such thing as owing anyone. If you think having kids means owing them, then I can choose not to have kids."
Jimena's words were clear, her voice cold, and her attitude firm.
Louis was blown away. Jimena was willing to give up her time and even not have kids just to be with him.
Seeing Louis stay quiet, Jimena thought he didn't believe her. She said hoarsely, "If you don't believe me, I can write it down for you right now."
"Forget it, no need to spell it out. You should go rest."
Louis waved his hand, not wanting to talk about it anymore.
Jimena had worked hard to win him over in this one month. Just when he thought he could finally chill, Jimena came back with more determination.
Jimena realized Louis was getting annoyed, so she didn't push it. She just nodded silently.
Oscar and Pearl decided to go on a honeymoon trip.
Christopher was supposed to be with RavenWing, but Jimena stepped in. She patted her chest and said, "Leave Christopher to me, you guys go enjoy your trip."
"Are you planning to stay in Willow Creek for a long time?" Pearl raised an eyebrow.
Even though Jimena and Louis weren't exactly a couple, Jimena had managed to get Louis to hang out with her, which was a win in her book.
Jimena should have her own stuff to do.
Jimena nodded. "Willow Creek is awesome. And being close to you, I kinda wanna stay. But Mr. Mitchell and I gotta head back to the Eldorians, so we won't have much time to mess around. We can only enjoy it here for a bit."
"In that case, if you wanna have fun, it’d be a hassle to take Christopher with you. Let Louis show you around; Tranquiloria's got a ton of cool spots."
Jimena wanted to help, but Pearl was thinking about them too. This was the time Jimena had fought hard for, and she wasn't gonna waste it.
Pearl said, "I'll have my dad and Harold look after Christopher. You two go have a blast."
With that, Pearl waved goodbye.
While still in the car, Oscar suddenly remembered something super important!
"How could I forget that?" Oscar pressed his lips together, looking all serious and kinda grim.
Pearl looked at him, puzzled. "What did you forget?"
Oscar sighed. "I was so focused on planning the wedding, but I forgot to take wedding photos."
Pearl couldn't help but laugh. "I thought it was something major. It's no biggie if we didn't take wedding photos; we're together, right?"
She leaned on Oscar's shoulder, her face glowing with happiness. "We have plenty of time to take photos later."
Pearl suddenly remembered. "Oh, we can take travel photos."
"Alright. Harold, make the arrangements."
Oscar immediately told Harold, who was driving. For Harold, it would only take a quick phone call, and he got it sorted out fast.
Meanwhile, Jimena kept Pearl's words in mind. She walked over to Louis.
Louis was busy with some stuff, and she cautiously spoke, "Wanna go out and have some fun? Since we're here, what do you think?"
"Pearl and Oscar are on their honeymoon. We'll see when they get back. If it takes too long, we'll head back to the Eldorians, but we can go out and have some fun. Where do you wanna go?" Louis looked up at Jimena.
This question stumped Jimena. She hadn't been to Tranquiloria before, so she really didn't know where to go.
She shook her head. "I'm not familiar with this place, so I don't know where to go. Mr. Mitchell, got any suggestions?"
Louis thought for a moment, then said, "I'm not sure which place is the best, so how about I just show you around?"
Their first stop was Greenhill Province.
Unexpectedly, their first stop led them to bump into Pearl and Oscar.
Pearl was stunned when she saw them. She even pinched herself secretly, feeling incredulous.
"What brings you here? Are you looking for us?" Pearl's first instinct was that something was up.
Jimena looked down, a blush of shyness crossing her face. "We're not here to find you; we're here to have fun. We didn't expect to run into you here."
"So you're here for a trip. That's awesome." Pearl said with delight. It seemed their relationship was getting better and better.
