Chapter 438 RavenWing Appears

Giulia's face went pale seeing the bullet holes and broken whip.

"Stay alert!"

She clutched her head, sensing danger, and instinctively wanted to hide, ignoring Pearl.

Everyone else was terrified too.

People used to chaos often mistake firecrackers for gunfire.

But there was only one gunshot.

Giulia peeked out to see what was happening.

Through the window, Pearl saw a tall man enter.

He had a stern, expressionless face and opened the door with authority.

The whole room's attention was instantly on him.

Giulia was stunned. "Mr. Moretti, why are you here?"

Giovanni Moretti was close to Louis.

Now, Giovanni was here personally.

No wonder someone dared to fire a shot!

Giovanni stopped in front of Pearl and said coldly, "She must not be harmed."

Giulia was taken aback. 'Could Pearl be telling the truth?'

Seeing Giulia silent, Giovanni's eyes turned sharp. "Didn't you hear me?"

"Yes!" Giulia quickly responded, not daring to slack off.

With a glance from Giulia, everyone else was dismissed.

Pearl hurried to support Chiara. Just as she was about to speak, Giovanni shot Giulia a look, and Giulia followed him out.

Pearl had no choice but to help Chiara back to her spot.

Meanwhile, Giovanni issued a second warning to Giulia. "You better listen. I'll be watching her closely. If she's hurt, I'll tear you apart."

"Yes, Giovanni. Don't worry. Since you came personally, I'll follow your orders."

Giovanni was close to Louis.

And Giulia had just seen Giovanni's shooting skills. Offending him was a death wish!

Giovanni said nothing but kicked Giulia hard.

A scream pierced the air, and Giulia didn't dare complain.

Without looking back, Giovanni turned and left.

After a while, he made a call. "Louis, I've taken care of it."

Meanwhile, on Pearl's side.

Because Giovanni had come to protect her, no one dared to speak to her. Even when she asked the guards for something, they immediately complied.

She carefully applied medicine to Chiara.

Seeing Chiara's dry, cracked lips, she gently dabbed water on them with a cotton swab.

Before long, Chiara woke up.

She looked around and gave a bitter smile. "I can't believe I'm still alive. In this place, I'd rather be dead!"

Pearl held her hand and comforted her, "Don't say that. As long as we're alive, there's hope."

Chiara was severely injured.

It wasn't that Pearl was particularly kind, but Chiara was right next to her.

Moreover, having someone by her side made things easier.

But before she could finish, Chiara interrupted, "Don't be naive. Being here is worse than death. This is called a slave camp, but we're worse than slaves!"

Just as Chiara said, this place was called a slave camp, and Giulia was in charge.

At the slightest sign of trouble, Giulia would beat them with a barbed whip that tore their skin apart.

They were even to fight each other.

There were drug tests and medical experiments that were worse than death.

Hearing this, Pearl thought it was utterly inhumane.

Giulia laughed. "Even after death, our bodies will be used."

Giulia explained how, making Pearl's scalp tingle. This place shouldn't be called a slave camp but a devil's camp!

In another room, there was a luxurious bed and lavish decor.

It was Carol's room, filled with luxurious jewelry, exquisite snacks, and drinks.

Carol was enjoying it all.

Suddenly, her door was pushed open.

She saw two tall men standing on either side of the door.

From their attire, Carol recognized them immediately.

The next second, RavenWing, wearing a black cloak, walked in.

Carol noticed RavenWing wore a black fanged mask.

She couldn't see his face, not even his eyes.

Carol immediately stood up and respectfully walked towards him. "Father."

RavenWing stood not far from Carol, making no movements, but his voice was hoarse as if his throat had been destroyed.

"Carol, what have you been doing lately?"

Carol lowered her head, knowing RavenWing's visit was no coincidence.

Since she arrived here, RavenWing had never visited her.

Carol replied truthfully, "I haven't done much."

But before she could finish, RavenWing interrupted coldly, "You haven't done much, yet you brought someone back?"

Saying this, RavenWing took two steps closer to Carol.

Carol's breath hitched, but she quickly responded, "Pearl bullied me and almost killed me. I wanted to teach her a lesson, but Mr. Rossi stopped me."

Carol looked at RavenWing in front of her. His features were hidden by the mask, and she couldn't tell if he was pleased or angry.

Moreover, RavenWing remained silent.

Carol's breathing grew heavier. She secretly pinched her palm and continued, "I don't understand why Mr. Rossi is protecting her so much. Is Pearl bullying me because she's relying on Mr. Rossi's protection?"

RavenWing chuckled softly. "Don't drag Matteo into this. I know exactly what kind of person he is."

How could he not see through Carol's schemes?

A daughter who appeared halfway through and someone who had been by his side for years—naturally, he would trust the latter.

As for the person Carol brought back, Pearl, he wanted to see what kind of person could almost bully Carol, and she was even protected by Matteo.

"I'm sorry. I was just afraid you'd blame me. Although I lied about some things, what I said before was true."

Carol lowered her head, looking like a child who had done something wrong.

RavenWing's voice remained cold. "I don't want to see this happen again."

"Yes." Carol didn't dare to refute RavenWing's words.

She kept her head down.

RavenWing said nothing, staring at Carol for a few seconds before turning to leave.

Only after a long while did she dare to lift her head.

However, her nails were deeply embedded in her palm.
