Chapter 862 No Discussion

Pearl felt a knot in her stomach. Something was definitely off.

RavenWing squeezed her hand tight, then suddenly, he just collapsed backward.

"Dad! Daddy!"

Pearl screamed, her voice echoing across the beach.

RavenWing hit the sand, and Pearl's cries brought Louis and the others running. But by the time they got there, RavenWing was already reaching out with a shaky hand.

"Wait for me, slow down…"

He didn't get to finish. He died right there in Pearl's arms.

It all happened so fast, Pearl couldn't wrap her head around it.

Jimena was crying too, unable to hold back her tears.

Oscar was holding Emily, and Christopher, who had grown really close to his grandpa, was bawling his eyes out.

But what could they do?

The dead didn't come back.

Now, they had to plan RavenWing's funeral. Since he loved the beach so much, they decided to hold it there.

Pearl wanted to bring RavenWing back to his roots.

But Louis was firm about honoring RavenWing's wishes. "Dad wanted to be buried in Willow Creek. We should respect that. Pearl, it'll be easier for you too."

"But Eldoria is Dad's homeland, and you're still there. Maybe he could be buried next to Mom?" Pearl's voice was sharp, cutting through the air.

She had never met her mother.

Her childhood memories were hazy and incomplete.

Louis pressed his lips together and spoke softly, "Mom's death was something Dad never wanted to talk about. Now that he's gone, let's follow his last wishes."

Pearl was hurting; her biological father had just left her.

The funeral was held the next day, with just a few close ones. Later, Oscar picked the best spot for RavenWing's grave.

After everything was settled, Louis asked Jimena to stay. "You need to go through the embryo implantation, and traveling back and forth isn't practical. I'll handle things in Eldoria. You stay in Willow Creek, and I'll come see you when I can."

Louis didn't want Jimena to travel so much, and he was also worried about Pearl. Having Jimena stay would be good for her too.

But Jimena wanted to leave with Louis. "What's a little travel? Didn't we agree that wherever you go, I go?"

"There's no unrest in Eldoria now. There's no reason I can't go back with you." Jimena didn't want to stay behind alone. She had made it clear to Louis that she wanted to be with him through thick and thin.

Louis gently touched Jimena's face. "Jeffery hasn't scheduled the embryo implantation yet. Staying here will also let you keep an eye on Pearl. I'm worried about her and don't want you to travel unnecessarily. Once everything's done, I'll bring you back."

"Okay."

With Louis saying that, Jimena couldn't refuse.

Pearl wasn't doing well. Even though Evans and Kittie had given her parental love, having her biological father show up and do so much made her wish he could stay.

But everything happened so suddenly.

Pearl couldn't accept it all.

She felt utterly helpless at that moment. She had been a war correspondent, dodging bullets for five years, yet she couldn't grasp the finality of life and death.

Pearl lay in bed, not wanting to do anything or eat.

Oscar brought the kids to her. "Pearl, don't overthink it. I know you're hurting, but Dad made everything clear before he left."

Even though Pearl was heartbroken, she had to pull herself together for the kids.

This too shall pass.

She stayed with Jimena during the embryo implantation, with Jeffery personally overseeing the process. When RavenWing passed, he had been looking forward to Jimena's child being born.

RavenWing had taken care of Pearl, Christopher, and Emily. Now, Pearl wanted to take good care of Jimena.

But Jimena didn't want to be a burden. "You've got your hands full with the kids. It's just the early stages; I can manage. Plus, you have staff at the villa. You don't need to do everything yourself."

"That's not gonna cut it. I didn't have time before, and we were too far apart. Now that you're here, I want to take good care of you."

"I want to make sure you're well taken care of, to honor Dad's memory."

Mentioning RavenWing made Jimena feel sad too.

When she pursued Louis, RavenWing had supported her.

But everything happened too fast.

To keep Jimena from getting bored, Pearl invited Desiree over. Desiree was already showing. "Since this is my second child, I haven't been as attentive. With Desiree here, you two can share experiences."

The main thing was, Pearl's second child was Oscar's top priority. It wasn't practical to have Oscar come over to give them lessons.

So, Jimena and Desiree became good friends. The three of them shopped and played cards together. If Saskia wasn't busy taking care of Jade, they would have had a fourth for their card games.

Oscar's company was expanding rapidly, and Harold's company was also thriving. It was a good sign. Penelope had become a top director.

Eileen had become a star.

But Penelope had plans for Christopher and Emily. One day, she came to see Pearl. "Pearl, I need your help with something."

"We're friends; you don't need to ask for help. Just tell me what you need." Pearl believed friends should be straightforward.

Seeing Pearl's straightforwardness, Penelope said, "I want to borrow Christopher. He's been in the entertainment industry before, right? And your little girl Emily is so cute; she'd look great on camera."

As expected, Penelope wouldn't visit without a reason.

Pearl didn't want to refuse, but Christopher was in school, and Emily was Oscar and Christopher's treasure.

"I think you should look for someone else. Oscar won't agree, and Emily is too young to be on camera."

Penelope still wanted Christopher and Emily. "You can convince Mr. Brown. I promise your kids won't get hurt."

"No way."

Oscar walked in from outside. He had heard everything and didn't care about the details. He wouldn't allow his kids to be put at risk.

With Oscar's firm stance, Penelope had to give up her idea.
