Chapter 61 Searching For That Woman
Pearl remembered that day when Haley ran out crying.
This time, Haley was able to smile at her again.
Haley was able to go to her job at the company and leave with a smile, which meant she must have encountered something happy.
Now, Pearl lacked confidence and didn't want to embarrass herself, so she didn't want to pay attention to Haley.
Instead of getting angry, Haley smiled and said to Pearl as she was about to enter the elevator. "Pearl, I know that soon you won't be his wife anymore. I'll let you feel proud for a few days first, it's not a big deal anyway, in the end Oscar will still reject you."
The elevator doors closed. Pearl saw Haley with a victorious smile, as if Haley already knew that she was just a sacrificial piece in the marriage.
Pearl felt a bit sad and clenched her fists tightly.

Pearl walked into the office and saw everyone working. She didn't go back to her workstation but went directly to Oscar's office.
Oscar was in a phone conference and turned his head to see Pearl come in, so he stopped for a moment and asked, "Do you have something to say?"
Pearl straightforwardly said, "I have something to tell you."
Oscar closed his computer, placed both hands on the desk, and asked, "What is it?"
Pearl sat across from him. Oscar stared deeply at her and he could sense that she had something to tell him.
Pearl didn't know how to start, so she found a topic and said, "I saw Haley when I came up just now. She seems to have recovered well."
Oscar asked, "Is that what you wanted to talk to me about?"
Pearl felt embarrassed. She tightly clenched her hands and stared into Oscar's eyes, saying, "Didn't you tell me that you wanted to find that woman from that night?"
"And then?" Oscar still hadn't grasped her point.
Pearl became nervous. "I know you care a lot, but that woman still hasn't shown up. What if, I mean, what if that woman becomes pregnant with your child? What would you do?"
Seeing Oscar's skeptical gaze on her, Pearl added, "President Oscar, when people are drunk, they usually don't think about taking precautions. Did you take any precautions? If she becomes pregnant, what will you do?"
Oscar said, "You have thought about it in detail."
Pearl felt uneasy but was unsure of his thoughts, so she quickly explained, "We haven't gotten divorced yet, so if another woman becomes pregnant with your child and doesn't receive your approval..."
"Abort it!"
Oscar didn't hesitate and coldly interrupted her speculation.
"This child is an accident, you shouldn't give birth to him." Oscar once again spoke indifferently.
Pearl's face stiffened and her lips lost their color as she stared at him, her gaze vacant.
Oscar could coldly utter such words, revealing a heartlessness and indifference Pearl had never seen before.
He would terminate the unexpected child.
This child was an accident, something he never wanted.
Furthermore, Oscar married Pearl for ulterior motives. He planned to divorce her for shares, so how could he possibly keep this child?
Pearl became so nervous that her hands started sweating, and she couldn't bring herself to say any more.
Taking a deep breath, her hands trembled involuntarily and her whole body turned ice cold.
Suppressing her fear, Pearl clasped her hands together to prevent them from shaking.
"So that's how it is," Pearl murmured, bowing her head.
"Why would you ask such a question?" Oscar sensed her unease.
Pearl remained silent, consumed by anxiety.
She hadn't spoken for a long time, and Oscar reached out to hold her hand.
Instinctively, Pearl flinched, rejecting his touch, and stared at him in a panic.
Her actions deeply furrowed Oscar's brow. He withdrew his hand and coldly asked, "Am I that terrifying?"
Pearl just looked at him, unable to articulate any defense.
Her rejection made Oscar inwardly annoyed. His face turned icy, and he unwelcomingly said, "If there's nothing else, you can leave."
It took Pearl a while to calm down and recover from her previous nervousness.
Things seemed to have changed after she became pregnant. She couldn't allow Oscar to harm their child.
Standing up, Pearl took a few steps back and respectfully said to Oscar, "I will handle the tasks you assigned, President Oscar. Don't worry!"
With that, she left the office without looking back.
Her words displeased Oscar. The more he thought about it, the more uncomfortable he felt.
After a while, Harold came in and reminded him, "President Oscar, the meeting is still ongoing..."
"Get out!" Oscar roared.
Pearl walked out, feeling completely drained.
She couldn't afford to have any reckless impulses. One wrong step and she would face despair.
Therefore, Pearl needed to remain rational and not tell Oscar about her pregnancy!
His warning was not unfounded, as he had mentioned on their wedding day that if she were to do something beyond the scope, she would face severe consequences.
Pearl couldn't gamble with her child.
With that in mind, Pearl immediately contacted Janetta and sent her a message: [Janetta, can you help me with a favor?]
Janetta replied: [What do you need me to do?]
Pearl: [Help me find a woman!]
Janetta: [Didn't you just reconcile with Oscar? Why do you still want to find a woman for him? Are you crazy?]
Pearl understood Oscar's personality very well. He wanted to find someone and would search everywhere, using any means necessary to find the person.
Now, Oscar was asking her to find this woman.
If she couldn't find her, the situation would be different when Oscar found her.
If he discovered it was Pearl, both she and her unborn child would be in danger.
She couldn't allow this to happen, so she had to find that woman for him.

A few days later, Janetta arranged to meet Pearl at the nightclub.
Pearl didn't dare let anyone know, so she took several detours on her way there.
The nightclub was closed during the day, and there would be no other customers besides the landlady.
Janetta waited for a long time, and when she saw Pearl arrive and dressed differently than usual, she said, "Don't worry, I know the landlady here, and no one will gossip about today's events."
"Okay."
The nightclub's landlady came out and exchanged greetings with Janetta, saying, "The girls you asked me to find are all in the room."
Pearl nodded and followed the landlady inside.
Inside the room, there were over ten girls. When they saw someone enter, they all lowered their heads.
Pearl looked at the girls inside and observed them carefully. She realized that these girls hadn't experienced complex social situations and were relatively timid.
They came to this place to work usually because of poverty and urgent need for money.
And in order to earn money, they had to learn to keep secrets.
But lies would eventually be exposed, so Pearl hoped to delay it for a while.
In the corner of the room where the lighting was not very strong, she almost missed a girl. Pearl saw a girl with a similar figure to hers.
So, Pearl pointed at that girl.
The landlady immediately said, "Look up!"
The girl quickly looked up, revealing a very innocent and beautiful face. She didn't know why the landlady had called them here and seemed a little scared.
Pearl asked, "What is your name?"
The girl replied, "My name is... Seraphina."
