Chapter 203 See if she wants to go to jail
Zoey and Noah rushed in hurriedly.
Aurora was lying pale in the ward, still unconscious. Seeing that, Zoey immediately broke down in tears and collapsed to the ground. "Aurora, how could this happen to you? Aurora, if I had known, I wouldn't have let you come back. You don't deserve this."
Noah helped Zoey up. "Aurora will be fine. Don't be too sad. She has been bullied, and we must seek justice for her. If you fall ill from crying, how will you stand up for Aurora?"
Hearing Noah's words, Zoey cried more quietly, but her eyes were resolute. "Aurora didn't fall into the sea; she was pushed."
Outside the ward were people from the Johnson Group, including Queenie.
It was Queenie who first discovered Aurora.
Queenie hadn't seen Pearl for a long time and knew that Aurora was following Pearl. She was worried something might happen, so she went to look for them.
But she didn't see them.
Queenie became anxious when she noticed Aurora struggling in the sea, exhausted and sinking. She immediately called for help to rescue Aurora from the water.
When they pulled her out, Aurora wasn't breathing. They performed CPR on her to expel the seawater she had ingested. But she hadn't seen any sign of Pearl.
Queenie could only stay at the hospital for now. After all, this was a collaboration between the Brown Group and the Johnson Group, and she needed to keep an eye on them.
Noah and Zoey had just arrived and didn't know the details. They directly stated that their daughter was a victim.
"Where are the people from the Brown Group?" Zoey demanded sternly. "They need to give Aurora an explanation!"
The Johnson Group employees looked directly at Queenie.
Queenie felt indignant. She hadn't expected Noah and Zoey to make such assumptions without investigating. She said, "What explanation? We haven't even asked for one yet. It was your Johnson Group that asked us to come over for an inspection. Now that something has happened, you blame us? We won't take responsibility for this!"
"How dare you speak to me like that!" Zoey stopped crying, now extremely angry. Pointing at Queenie, she said, "With employees like you in the Brown Group, what can't they do!"
Queenie shouted, "With a mother like you, Aurora is capable of anything! We haven't even found Pearl yet; we don't know if she's alive or dead. If anything happens to her, you'll all be responsible!"
Zoey's chest heaved with anger as she defended her daughter, "Don't accuse Aurora. She has always been kind and helpful.. She couldn't possibly do anything bad. She's lying in the bed, still in critical condition. And as for your Pearl, she probably fled after harming Aurora. I'm calling the police to catch the culprit who hurt Aurora!"
Zoey turned to Noah. "Noah, where's your phone? Call the police immediately. Don't let the culprit escape! If anyone harms my daughter, I'll make sure they regret it!"
"Call the police?"
Oscar walked over briskly, his eyes cold and his voice icy. "Go ahead and call the police. See if I won't have Aurora sent to jail!"
Zoey and Noah's faces turned dark when they saw Oscar and heard his words. Noah, even more furious, said, "Oscar, Aurora is lying unconscious in the bed. How can you say that? Alfonso and I are friends. Even if you don't sympathize with us, don't say such things! She's our only daughter!"
Queenie, seeing how much they valued Aurora while completely disregarding Pearl, was so angry that she was nearly in tears. "Aurora is your treasure, but Pearl is ours. At least Aurora is still alive, but what about Pearl? If I hadn't seen her and saved her, she would have died. Instead of thanking me, you slander Pearl. You're just kicking us when we're down!"
Queenie had never encountered such unreasonable parents before.
'Without discerning the facts, they claimed Pearl had harmed Aurora. If something happened to Pearl, her parents would be heartbroken.'
Thinking of this made Queenie even sadder.
She had been helped by Pearl and believed in Pearl's kindness, convinced she couldn't have done such a thing.
As for Aurora, Queenie didn't need evidence to believe she was capable of it. If Aurora had harmed Pearl and ended up in the sea herself, then she deserved it!
"Do you have the right to speak?" Noah coldly rebuked Queenie when she spoke up. "The Brown Group has all sorts of people. Even a even a mere employee dares to interrupt me!"
Oscar fixed a sharp gaze on Noah, controlling his displeasure with a hand in his pocket as he sneered, , "Mr. Johnson, you live abroad and value democracy and freedom. What's wrong with my employee speaking up?"
It was the first time Queenie had seen Oscar speak up for her, and she was so moved she almost cried.
Queenie had thought she would have to stand up for Pearl alone, unsure if she could confront Noah and Zoey.
If she truly couldn't resist, she would seek help from the media and the internet to support Pearl
Times had changed, and she believed she could speak up for Pearl!
Queenie immediately ran to Oscar's side, crying as she said, "Mr. Brown, you must avenge Pearl. It must be Aurora who harmed Pearl. Aurora deliberately sent us away to attack Pearl!"
"You're talking nonsense!" Zoey said furiously. "I'll tear your mouth apart!"
Zoey was on the verge of hitting Queenie, who defiantly stared back. "Go ahead! Don't think I'm scared of you just because you have money. Does having money make you great? Does it give you the right to slander others? If you can't stand being slandered, why should others? I'm just giving you a taste of your own medicine!"
"You..." Zoey was so angry she nearly fainted, but fortunately, someone supported her.
Noah had someone take care of Zoey. He made it clear that he wouldn't rest until this matter was resolved, and coldly stated, "Mr. Brown, can you make your employee shut up? She doesn't know how to respect her elders. Alfonso entrusted the company to you, and you're bringing shame to the Brown family!"
Since Oscar didn't give Noah any respect or seek justice for Zoey and him, Noah saw no reason to respect Oscar either.
Facing Noah's mockery, Oscar remained silent. His eyes were deep, and he said indifferently, "To earn respect, you must be worthy of it."
Noah couldn't believe Oscar's arrogance. "Are you trying to offend me? Do you know how much Aurora sacrificed to collaborate with you? She lowered the profit margins significantly and begged me multiple times before I agreed. She's my only precious daughter. For her, I've tolerated a lot. Now that something has happened to her, you not only refuse to support her but also insult us. Do you have any conscience?"
"I think you need to understand one thing," Oscar said, his cold eyes fixed on Noah. "My company has nothing to do with Alfonso. Don't use him to against me! And if Pearl's fall into the sea is related to Aurora, then see if she shouldn't go to jail!"
"You..." Noah was infuriated but felt pressured by Oscar's stance.
As they argued, light footsteps approached, and a voice called out, "Oscar ."
