Chapter 557 I Don't Have This Problem

"Hey, with your grit, I know you can push through this. I'll be keeping a close eye on you in the next few days," Jeffery said, taking his time with each word. And that was exactly what he did.

Kicking the drugs was brutal, but Louis had a solid crew around him, especially Jimena.

Louis managed to shake the addiction in just a week.

Everyone was stoked, especially Jimena. "Louis, let's hit the grassroots. There are still tons of folks who need our help."

Jimena's plan was simple: dive into work together so Louis wouldn't dwell on Paloma's death.

During this time, Louis felt like he had just married her and owed her something, so he wanted to stay by her side. But things didn't go as planned, leading to Louis's current state.

Louis wrapped Jimena in his arms. "Your idea's awesome. Let's go to the grassroots. Giovanni can handle the Eldorians."

"Okay."

Louis and Jimena decided to bounce, so RavenWing had to stick around Eldorians for a bit to keep an eye on things. He wasn't thrilled about leaving Christopher behind.

In Willow Creek, he and Christopher had such a chill time together. They came for Louis and Jimena's wedding, but things went sideways.

"Christopher, you head back with your mom first and be good. I'll come see you soon." RavenWing gently ruffled Christopher's hair, full of love and care.

Christopher nodded. "Don't worry, I'll be good, listen to Mom and Dad, study hard, and wait for you to come back."

RavenWing personally saw them off at the airport.

For business stuff, Harold could handle it. As for Pearl, Oscar respected her wishes, but Harold jumped in first, "Mr. Brown, why don't you and Mrs. Brown stay in Eldorians for a bit? I can take Christopher back to school. Don't worry, I'll coordinate with Evans and Kittie."

Pearl looked at Christopher. Since Christopher was born, she hadn't been with him for five years. Now that he was starting school, leaving him in Eldorians would mess up his education.

But if Christopher went back alone, how could she be at ease?

Oscar said, "No, I won't stay in Eldorians. When Louis gets back from the grassroots, RavenWing will come over."

Besides, they had already decided to live in Willow Creek.

Oscar knew Pearl's decision, but he still pulled her aside. "I know you're worried about Eldorians. If you're not cool with Christopher going back alone, I'll go with him. But I can't leave you here alone."

The distance was just too far. Otherwise, they could drive back and forth and take care of both sides.

But RavenWing had been through a lot and had a solid crew around him. Louis also had Jimena by his side, so nothing would go wrong.

With Christopher as her top priority, Pearl made the decision to return to Willow Creek.

However, during their absence, Alfonso began causing trouble. He managed to deceive some of the residents, as he was determined to seize all the assets for himself. Despite this, there were still people who remained loyal to Oscar.

A number of them were attempting to reach Oscar. But, lo and behold, Oscar and Harold were nowhere to be found when their phones rang because they were up in the air on a plane.

Alfonso had one clear goal: he wanted the cash and the clout.

The assets he couldn't snag before? He was dead set on locking them down now.

Alfonso stirred up such a ruckus at the Brown Group that even Magdalen got wind of it.

Magdalen showed up in person and tore into Alfonso. "I've already laid it all out for you, and Oscar's stance was crystal clear at the wedding. How can you still pull this crap? Oscar hasn't done you dirty, has he?"

Back when the Brown Group was on shaky ground, it was Oscar's skills that brought it to its current glory.

Alfonso wasn't having any of it and snapped back, "Yeah, Oscar got the Brown Group to where it is now. But the thing is, I can't end up broke."

"If you wanted it so bad, why didn't you listen when Dad asked you to come back? Now you're saying this, don't you think it's hypocritical?" Magdalen was blunt. She never sugarcoated things, especially with people she didn't like.

And Alfonso? He'd done squat and was now even worse off.

Magdalen was super disappointed in him. "It's just not the same as it used to be. I'm totally at a loss for words."

"What I'm doing doesn't mess with your interests. What's your problem? Magdalen, don't you know Oscar isn't even part of the Brown family? Why are you siding with him against me?" Alfonso was already pissed about not getting the money and being shut out by Oscar. Now, getting chewed out by Magdalen, he couldn't hold back his anger.

Magdalen's emotions boiled over too. "Well, when I was thinking about the Brown family, where were you? You let Dad and Oscar carry so much for you. Now you're here begging for money. If I were you, I'd be too ashamed to stand here! If you don't want me to call the cops, you'd better leave on your own."

Alfonso stared at Magdalen in disbelief. They were family, yet she was siding with Oscar and even threatening to have him arrested to protect Oscar's interests?

Alfonso's rage exploded, and he slapped Magdalen hard. "Magdalen, is this how you talk to me? Let me tell you, as long as the Brown Group has the Brown name, I'll always have a piece of it! Just because you don't want it doesn't mean I don't. You and Oscar can team up, and I can't stop you, but if you mess with my business, I swear I'll make you and Oscar pay!"

Alfonso was seething with anger. Seeing how much Magdalen supported Oscar, he thought, why not test if Oscar would pay up to rescue Magdalen if he kidnapped her?

Alfonso acted right away.

The moment Magdalen was taken hostage, she was utterly done with him. "From now on, you're not my family, and the Brown family will no longer acknowledge you!"
