Chapter 192 I Don't Like Watching Mindless Shows
Queenie's urgent tone caught Pearl's attention.
When Pearl noticed Queenie looking towards Oscar's office, it was clear that Queenie wanted her to go there.
Normally, Queenie wouldn't involve Pearl in office matters unless it was something serious that colleagues were gossiping about, and Queenie took it seriously.
Actually, something really happened in the office. She rarely overthink and wouldn't push herself to the brink.
Pearl didn't move, her hands still typing on the computer, and she said calmly, "What should I do? Can I really meddle in Mr. Brown's affairs?"
Pearl actually wanted to tell Queenie not to take colleagues' gossip too seriously.
Seeing Pearl still looking at the computer, truly unbothered, Queenie couldn't help but say, "Haley came over early this morning. Mr. Brown let her into the office, and she hasn't come out yet. There must be something going on inside."
She didn't want Pearl to be deceived.
If Pearl was Oscar's wife, she should firmly hold her position as Mrs. Brown and not let any other vixen succeed.
Pearl being Mr. Brown's wife was a great comfort to Queenie.
Queenie had previously wished to be with Oscar, but his marital status had dashed her hopes.
Now that it was a possibility, Queenie had to keep a close watch.
She couldn't let Haley, that vixen, become Mrs. Brown.
Now Haley was very famous and proud. What if Mr. Brown fell for her?
Upon hearing Haley's name, Pearl's hands paused for a moment.
Haley's reputation in the entertainment industry was improving rapidly, making her a shining star.
Standing next to Oscar, she was also a good match.
She calmly looked at Queenie and asked, "Did you bring the coffee when she came so early?"
Queenie, surprised by Pearl's calmness, replied, "I forgot it."
"Then ask Lily to bring the coffee. We should still be courteous to guest, or else people might think the Brown Group is impolite," Pearl said, only addressing work matters.
That was Pearl's reaction.
If it were Queenie, she would have been very angry and rushed in to beat Haley up.

But for Pearl, she was already used to it.
As Lily entered the office, the door opened, revealing Haley's figure. Her eyes were red, suggesting she had experienced a significant distress.

Pearl just glanced and didn't think further.
After a while, Lily came out.
"How is it, what happened?" Queenie was more worried than Pearl and asked as soon as Lily came out.
Pearl was present and only heard Lily say, "I think I heard Mr. Brown scolding her. It seems Haley is in a relationship, which made Mr. Brown unhappy."
After saying this, Lily was afraid she had misunderstood. "I'm not sure if I got it right, but Mr. Brown didn't seem very happy."
"Haley in a relationship?" Queenie was a bit surprised. Haley wished she could stick to Mr. Brown every day, she couldn't be in a relationship!
"If she's in a relationship, why would Mr. Brown be angry? Shouldn't everyone be happy!"
It seemed like he cared a lot.
For a public figure like Haley, if she were in a relationship, there would definitely be news.
Since Oscar knew, so it must be on the gossip news.
"It's true. Pearl, look. Haley was photographed entering an apartment with the actor she worked with," Queenie said, looking at the trending topics, where reporters had captured them entering the apartment together in a chauffeur-driven car.
That show they are starring was currently a hit.
Some fans of the show even hoped that the male and female leads are a couple in real life.
They are convinced that they are dating.
Other fans argue that it's not true and don't want their favorite celebrities to be dragged into it.
But with the paparazzi photos, there's no way to explain more.
Pearl watched the video in silence, not comment. Whatever relationship Haley had with that actor was unimportant.
But why was Oscar so concerned about it and angry? Was he jealous?
Pearl decided not to bother with whether they were in the office or why Oscar was angry; it was just asking for trouble.
Pearl reminded herself not to overthink.
Queenie and Lily started discussing what kind of relationship Oscar and Haley had, given all that Oscar had done for her.
The office door opened again, this time with Haley opening it herself.
Queenie and Lily fell silent.
"Oscar, there's nothing between him and me. It's just the paparazzi taking random shots. I won't let this happen again. Please don't be angry, okay?" Haley's voice was choked with sobs as she tried to soothe Oscar.
Queenie sneered; she was too good at acting.
Oscar's dark face looked stern and he said in a deep voice, "This is the only time. I don't want to see such gossip again."
"I'll be careful," Haley explained again. "You know I don't understand the rules yet. I'll keep my distance from male actors in the future."
"Fine," Oscar replied indifferently.
Pearl heard their entire conversation.
As Lily had said, Oscar was unhappy about Haley's gossip.
Haley walked out of the office.
Pearl's desk was not far away, and she quickly saw Haley.
When she saw them all stand there, Haley glanced at Oscar and said, "Why are you all standing here? Oscar, have you added two more secretaries to your office?"
Oscar glanced at Queenie and Lily, who seemed very curious, and said sternly, "What are you doing here? Don't you have work to do?"
Queenie and Lily were immediately frightened.
When Oscar said such things, it meant he was displeased with their behavior.
"We'll get back to work right away."
Queenie and Lily lowered their heads, trembling, and wanted to leave.
Pearl, who remained expressionless, spoke up for them, "I just asked them to come over and get some documents to copy. I didn't expect Ms. Garcia to come out just then."
"You two, come get the documents!" Pearl called to them.
They quickly went to Pearl's side.
Haley looked at Pearl again. Now that Haley was famous, she had become much more confident. She seemed to want to show off in front of Pearl, rubbing the diamond ring on her finger, and said with a smile, "Did you have to come over at the same time? The company's work efficiency isn't high. It's not as good as Oscar's new entertainment company. One Mae can serve several people, saving the company money."
Haley looked at them again. "With such unreliable work, it's better to have fewer people like that."
Haley was ostensibly targeting Queenie and Lily, but she was actually mocking Pearl.
When Pearl met Haley's gaze, not backing down, and said coldly, "Lily is new here and unfamiliar with many things. It's appropriate for Queenie to guide her. You know the entertainment company is new, so it can't compare to the Brown Group's employees. The Brown Group can afford to have a few idle employees; your company might not be able to!"
Pearl's response stung Haley.
Haley instinctively clenched her fists, her tone soft but retaliatory, "Oscar has good vision. Our company is profitable. Have you seen my show?"
Pearl's eyes remained on her computer, "I don't like watching mindless shows. I haven't seen it."
